I was in a state

Several years ago
Maybe twenty I don't know

But those plans fell through

I think I've found out how,

It is friends that cleat my path

I can feel your pain
Up and down this bumpy road
Giving me road rash.

The futures brighter
When the road ahead is paved,
with stones of purpose

This sadness I feel
Is here and it's real
They say it's a phase,
but it's been days and days
No answers to my questions
just hollow suggestions.

The sun is so shy
Couldn't show her face today
The clouds form a veil.

The truth can be a burden
