Very few lucky are to be, properly employed;

Many miscreants there are who just plot n ploy.

I hope people find their right n honest envoy.

So that gets Calcutta its original tittle, "the City of Joy".

ફરી એક વાર, વ્યાજના દર ઘટયા

ચીજોના ભાવ સતત વધ્યા;

વડીલો, રાખજો ભીખનો કટોરો તૈયાર,

જઈશું એ લઇ નમૂના ઘરે સહિયાર.

આવ્યો છે સમય કઢંગો આજ

ખતરામાં છે બુઝરુગોની લાજ.

છોકરાંઓ સામે, ફેલાવી શું નહિ હાથ;

એવું કહેનારાઓ ને, આજે વકતે આપ્યો નહિ સાથ.

રાજકર્તાઓ એ પાછો આપ્યો દગો;

કુદરતે છોડ્યો સંગાથ, કોઈ નહિ બુઝરોગ, તારો સગો

હવે આં ઉંમરે તમને ન મળે કોઈ નોકરી

ઉઠાવાય નહિ આં ઉંમરે બોજ, ન ટોકરી.

ત્યાગ કરી તેં પાઈ પાઈ બચાવી;

તો પણ, વર્ષોની મેહનત કામ ન આવી.

ફરી એક વાર ફસ્યો તું મોંઘવારીના વમળમાં

ભવરો જેમ ફસી જાય, બંધ થતાં કમળમાં.

ભગવાન તને બચાવે,
તારો બુઢાપો સાચવે.

SILENCE

He loved her most dearly, but couldn't ever, so say;

Afraid he was, just incase she would say, " nay."

So all his love for her, within his heart lay.

And unfortunately, all life long, there it was to stay.

Before those words magical utter he could; only ashes there lay.

She was someone's bride, so utter them he couldn't, happen what may!!!

Sadly he lost his love, on that fateful, horrible day;

Thereafter silence prevailed, there was no more to say!!!

ઊંડી આશ

અંતર ના ઊંડાણ માં એક આશ છે

જિંદગી ભર ની આં અતૃપ્ત પ્યાસ છે

હ્રદયના ઊંડાણમાં, થોડો દગમાગેલો વિશ્વાસ છે.

તું નહિ જાણે, પણ તારામાં એક અદૃશ્ય આક્રશન છે ખાસ.

બસ આંખો વિચાય એ પેહલા આવી જાય તું કાશ !!!

તારા દર્શન વિના મોત થયું , તો તડપશે આં બિચારી લાશ.

ખુદા જાણે કેમ, પણ આવી નહિ આં પ્રીત મને રાસ

કદાચ જીવન ભર, કદી છીપાસે નહિ આં પ્યાસ.

તો પણ દિલમાંથી જતી નથી, આં ઊંડી આશ .

બંને હોય છે સુંદર, હરિયાળા, અને અતિ ન્યારા .

પણ કિસ્મતમાં એમની, સર્જાઈ હોય છે જુદાઇ;

કદી ન મિલાપ થાય, એવી કાતિલ જુદાઇ.

લાખ કરે બંને મળવાની કોશિશ; પણ નસીબમાં હોય છે જુદાઇ

આં કિનારા જેવી જ હતી રાધા કૃષ્ણ ની અધૂરી પ્રીત.

એમના નસીબ માં સર્જાયા હતા બસ વિરહ ગીત.

આવા કિનારા શીદ રચિય તે; જોયું નહિ કોઈનું હિત .

समय की धारा

समय की धारा, सदियों से बस बहती जाए;

न धीमी, न तेज, बस एक धार बहती जाए ।

वक्त की नदी, जो एक धारा, बहती जाए ;

मानव के हिसाब के सुख दुख उसे देती जाए।

मानव न उसे रोक सके, न थाम सके;

न वोह उसे मोड़ सके, न अंजाम दे सके ;

समय की धारा, न किसी के लिए रुकी है ,

न वोह कभी किसी के लिए रुकेगी ।

पर मन चाहता है सुख की धारा लंबी बहे

और दुख की नदी, जल्द से जल्द, चलती बने ।

उमर कटती रहे, घटती रहे, पर समय की धारा;

यह नदी सदा बहती रहे, मुड़के आए न दुबारा ।

इसी लिए, तु, हे मानव, समय के साथ;

बहना सीख, चला अपने पांव और हाथ।

समय होता है बड़ा किम्मती, जैसे एक मोती

खतरनाक खेल

ओ मेरे मालिक, समझ में न आए तेरा यह खतरनाक खेल

गुंडे बदमाश छड़े चोक मझा लूटे, और निर्दोष जाए जेल !!!

या तो फिर गुंडों की हो जाती है, एक दो दिन में बेल ।

प्रेमी बिछड़ जाते हैं या कभी होता ही नहीं उनका मेल;

कभी रब की बनाई जोड़ीओ के दिल मिलते ही नहीं;

या तो फिर उनके साथ, होता ही नहीं कुछ सही

शादी के बाद मजबुर हो जाते है सोचने के लिए, क्या यही है वही??

तेरी लीला समझ में न आई है, न आएगी कभी; समझने, मै तरस रही ।

माना, हम तेरे हाथो की कतपुटलिया है, पर थक गए नाचते;

बेईमान लोगो, आरामसे सुख सुविधाओं में है राचते;

और बिचारे ईमानदार लोगोंको सताता है संसार, और लोग उन्हें है जांचते

बुरे लोग, भले लोगोंको आग में  है झोंकते और खुशी से है नाचते।

आओ चलो , हम कुछ कर दिखाए,

भारत को एक बड़ा चमन, एक गुलिस्तां बनाए ।

पेड़ों की शाखें फूलों, फलों और सब्जियों से लचे ।

हर टेहनी , हर डाल पे असंख्य फूल फल सजे ।

गुलिस्तां में आए हर फल, फूल, सब्जियोंसे हर पौधा लचे ।

कोई मानव, जानवर या पक्षी भूखा न रहे;

और न कोई इंसान या जानवर, कातिल गरमी सहे ।

पेड़ों की छाव से मिलेगी ठंडक और मस्त हवा के झोंके ।

गर इंसान एक बार निर्णय ले ले, तो कोई ताकत उसे न रोके ।

चलो, बारिश का पानी बचाएं और वृक्ष उगाए ।

चलो अपनी इस धरा को,  भारत माता को एक गुलिस्तां बनाए ।

दिल लगाने की सज़ा

यह क्या किया तुने मेरे मालिक, पल भरमे मेरा दिल हो गया पराया ;

उसके बिना बेजान हो कर जी रहा हूं; मेरे ही दिल ने मुझे हराया ।

प्यार हो जाता है यह सुना था; लेकिन इस उलझन में तुने, मुझे क्यू भरमाया

यह दिल अब अपना भी नहीं, और नहीं है उनका, हालात से मै हूं घभराया ।

दिल मुफ्त में दे दिया उनको; ऊपर से सज़ा मिली मुझे, दिल लगाने की

स्थिति बहुत ही बुरी है, इस बेकसूर गरीब मुफलिस  बेगाने की ।

कुछ तो बता, पूछ पूछ के थक चुका हूं मैं, ओ मालिक मेरे;

क्या इस दिल लगाने की भी  सज़ा होती है दरबार में तेरे ???

ACCEPTANCE

Almost impossible it is to accept things against our wish.

In fact, difficult it is to even gulp down an undesirable dish !

It's almost like forcing a vegetarian to eat some stinky fish.

But life does force it's decisions on us, whether we like it or not.

Wisdom prevails in accepting them, instead of into a web, getting caught.

The earlier one accepts it, lesser battles need to be fought.

Nature, Karma, some decisions worldly, force the change, upon us.

This unwanted, undesirable forced change is like a curse;

Difficult it is; but acceptance is better than  resistance n fuss.

નાજુક દિલમાં મારા, પડી એક ઊંડી તિરાડ

એમાં દુઃખે, કાયમ માટે, લઈ લીધી આં દિલમાં આડ.

बिठाया तुझे दिलमे, बना के देवता मेरे मन मंदिर का, है तु यहां सदा बिराजमान।

कण कणमें बसा है तु; तेरी प्रियतमा बनने का, दे दे मुझे वरदान ।

तेरी छवी बसती है मुझमें; इस दिल में, है तु ही बिराजमान;

जलाया है प्रेम दीपक तेरे लिए; गाती हूं तेरे ही गुण गान ।

दिल चाहे, ओढ़लू चुनर तेरे नाम की, पर तु देवता मै इंसान;

लोग पराए क्या जाने; तुझमें ही बसती है मेरी जान ।

सब कहे तु है राधिका का कान्हा; मेरी नहीं कोई भी पहछान;

WANTS

All we want is a little Sunshine, to make our world bright;

Just in order to relax and unwind, a little Moonlight.

A few clouds on a hot Summer day, to grant us some shade

And some shade of luxuriant trees, to protect ourselves from the scorching heat.

And some rain to this Earth cool, from this same heat n light.

Nature said, "GROW TREES" to have pleasant days n cool nights.

So I grew some trees; and I was gifted all these with oxygen filled air.

કહે મીરાં,"જોજે મારી તરફ"

ન તું હકીકત માં આવ્યો;  બસ, આવ્યો કબીકબાર, સ્વપ્નો માં;

ન જાણે કેમ, રહે છે તું ચિરકાળથી, મારી યાદો માં.

શા કારણે તું છોડતો નથી પીછો મારો; કહી જા આવી કાનો માં.

વસે છે દિલમાં, અંત્કરણ માં, મારી કવિતાઓ અને ગીતોમાં.

બોલાવી તને હું થાકી; ગઈ છું હારી; બોલાવ્યો તને પળે પળે.

ઓ બેપરવાહ, તને શું; જીવ તો છે મારો; ભલે એ બળે તો બળે

તને ક્યાં છે પરવાહ, સાંભલવા મારી યાચના; મીરાં મરે તો મરે.

પ્રીતમાં અહંકાર ના હોય, પણ સ્વાભિમાન તો હોય ને; પડીશ નહિ તારે ગળે.

ઓ બેપરવાહ, ઓ બેખબર, તું મારો પ્રેમ કદી તો આંક;

આં એક તરફી પ્રેમ હોય છે કાતિલાના, આમાં તારો નથી કોઈ વાંક.

પણ તને પ્રેમ કરવામાં, દિલ ઓ દિમાગ ખોઈ બેસવાનો, મારો શું વાંક?

વળજે મારી તરફ, અગર  સ્વર્ગ ની સીડી પર કોઈ હોય જો વળાંક.

That's the place, where I don't like any hurdle.

Love I do to become your pillow instead;
When, on my tummy, you rest your head.
Enjoy this shortage of space, I actually do, on the bed.

Love, always in the heart, seeks a space.
Around the heart, weaves it, a delicate lace.
Then, inside the heart, it settles, with Ahura's grace.

May our love forever live and thrive.
May it also, through many other hearts, dance n jive.
May it for ever and ever survive.

આજ ની મીરાં

શું, સાચા અર્થ માં હતી, એ આજ ની મીરાં ???

એની કથા સાંભળી, મારા આંસુ પડતાં નથી ધીરા

નાની નટખટ લાડલી બધાની હતી આં મીરાં.

ચારે ભાઈ બહેન હતા આં કળયુગ ના હીરા.

થોડી મોટી થઈ, ડોક્ટરી શીખવા ગઈ એ જ્યારે;

કૃષ્ણ એને મળ્યો, એની કોલેજ માં ત્યારે;

પ્રોફેસરના એ પહેલા લેકચરમાં, મીરાંને પ્યાર થયો ત્યારે.

સ્વપ્ન હતાં રંગીન, તરંગો જાગ્યા અનેક; નજર મળી જ્યારે.

મન ડોલી ઉઠ્યું, દુનિયા એની અચાનક થઈ ગઈ રંગીન;

સંભળાતી હતી એને મીઠી બિન; નાચતીએ સપેરાની બની નાગિન .

પણ કુદરતને હતું નહિ આં મંજુર, થઈ એ અતિ ગમગીન.

આં મામલો બની ગયો ગમખ્વાર અને સંગીન.

દુનિયા જાણે છે, એક તરફના પ્યારને, કદી મળતો નથી જશ

મીરાંના જીવનમાંથી ઉઠી ગયો બધો જ રસ કસ.

વિચારી લીધું એને, હવે ડોક્ટર બની સેવા આપીશ બસ.

એટલે હવે એને, સિખવામાં ખૂબ લીધો રસ.

ડીગ્રીઓ હાંસલ કરી, હોસ્પિટલ ખોલી; આપ્યું એને, એના કૃષ્ણનું નામ.

મીરા કબીરના ભજન વાગતા બધી રૂમોમાંથી; હતું સંગીત એક બામ

આં સંગીત, અને મીરાની આરાધનાથી મળતો દર્દીઓને ઘણો આરામ.

વર્ષો પછી આં ઘટનાનો આવ્યો એક સુખદ અંજામ.

હોસ્પિટલમાં થતાં સંગીતના ફાયદા; અને સંગીતથી નીકળતા એના ખર્ચા.

પ્રોફેસરે, એક દિવસ ન્યુઝમાં સાંભળી, આં હોસ્પિટલની ચર્ચા.

પોતાના નામની હોસ્પિટલની થઈ રહી હતી અહીં વિચારણા

જોયું તો આં તો હતી એમની તેજસ્વી શિષ્યા ની ચર્ચા.

હવે, એક દિવસ, પહોંચ્યા પ્રોફેસર, મીરાંને મળવા એના ઘર.

પ્રભુના પવિત્ર પગલાં પાડયાં આજે, એમની જોગણને ઘર.

એમને જોઈ, ખુશી અને વિભોરતાથી મીરાનો રૂંધાઇ રહ્યો સ્વર.

સતકાર કરતાં અશ્રુધારા વહી રહી હતી; તૂટી ગયો આજે બંધ; પધાર્યા છે પરમેશ્વર.

પગે પડી, ચરણ રજ માથે ચડાવી, મીરાં થઈ ગઈ મોહનમાં મગન.

દર્શન પામી એમના, શમી ગઈ આજે, એની વર્ષોની આગ, અગન.

પ્રોફેસર પોતાની તસવીરો જોઈ થયા ચકીત; એક મંદિર બનાવ્યું હતું મીરાએ, એનું ઘર આંગણ.

પ્રેમ અશ્રુ વર્શી રહ્યાં હતાં બન્ને બાજુ, મુગ્ધ થઈ બેઠા રહ્યા; આશીવાદ વરસાવતું હતું ગગન.

આં યુગમાં, મીરાં ને આજે મળી ગયો હતો એનો મન મોહન.

OH TO BE IN CALCUTTA.....OH NO, KOLKATA...

Here, noisy street protests often are seen.
Time plenty, people have; to scream n create a din.

Traffic unruly and often chaotic is,
Parking is a nightmare, that doesn't cease.

The buildings here, grand and stately were.
Today dilapidated and in a pathetic condition are;

"London bridge is falling down", goes an old old song.
But here they actually fall. There is something very wrong.

From superiority complex, suffer the Bongs;
Because, above all they are, in music n songs.

In speaking, often very loud they are;
You actually can hear them from far.

Educated, well- read , in literature;
proud they are of their rich Bengali culture.

English, many know; but their accent, "Baba re baba" !
"O" soft, is used, loudly as"Au", tauba-tauba !

A **** carries a lil Bengal, goes wherever he;
This abroad, very easily and often you see.

A ****'s Friend, (specially Manna Da's.)

Abandon me do not ever, O Ahura, my kind Lord.

Strong, very strong should be the connecting umbilical cord.

Your love, blessings and protection always upon me accord.

Children naughty n angry may become,  but pl do not use a rod.

Stay may I, strongly n firmly attached to the umbilical cord.

Grant me faith deep n keep me totally attuned with You, O Lord.

Peace, happiness and satisfaction on me, kindly accord.

ગઠબંધન

ખુરસી અને દૌલત માટે માનવ થઈ ગયો છે પાગલ

વણવિચરીએ, ખોટે રસ્તે વધી રહ્યો છે આંધળો થઈ ને આગળ.

ખોટા કર્મ કર્યે જાય છે; પંપાળે છે પોતાનો અહંકાર;

આં બધું કરવામાં, ખોઈ દે છે એ સ્વ નો સંતોષ અને મન નો કરાર.

તો પણ વધારીએ જાય છે એ એના પોતાનાં પાપ ના પોટલાં.

તબીયત એની લથડી જાય છે; રહી જાય છે, જેવાં ઇંડા વિનાના કોટલાં.

માયાજાળ માં લપેટાયેલા માનવી ને દલદલમાં ડૂબતાં લાગતી નથી વાર

દાનવનો જોરદાર અને કઠોર હોય છે આં માનવઓ પર પ્રહાર.

દાતા, સદા બચાવજે અમને આં દાનવના પ્રહારથી, થાય ન અમારું પતન.

માંગુ એટલું, બસ કરી લે અમારી સાથે, એક અતૂટ ગઠબંધન.

प्यार मरता क्यू नही

प्यार अमर है, वो कभी भी मरता नहीं,

जैसे, राख् में  जलती रहेती है सदा, एक चिंगारी

प्यारको दफनाया जाए अगर, तो माटी जी उठती है

जलाने के बाद भी, राख में चिंगारी भड़कती रहेती है

सच बात है यह, के प्यार कभी मरता नही;

उसे मारने की, लाख कोशश करे कोइ ।

बेहोशी के आलम में भी वो दिल के भीतर रहेता है

हे मालिक, जरा समझाना मुझे, आखिर प्यार मरता क्यू नहीं है

तेरे गुण

सुझे न क्या लिखूं, इस लिए बड़ी देर मैंने लगाई;

अब तक हाथ पकड़कर बहुत कविताएं तुने  लिखाई ;

पर ऐसी भी क्या रुसवाई, की खुद के लिए, कुछ न लिखवाया, ओ मेरे साईं ;

आखिर आज, तुने, खुद के लिए, मेरे हाथों से, एक  कविता है लिखवाई

कान्हा तो है नटखट; पर आप क्यों बन बैठेथे हरजाई, यह बात समझ में न आई ;

दुहाई हो दुहाई, मेरे साईं , अब आखिर, आज वो रात अायी;

जब तुने मेरे हाथो से, तेरे लिए, एक कविता लिखवाई।

एक प्रेम भारी रचना, जो तेरे लिए ही लिखी और है गाई ।

प्रेम  आदरभरे वंदन तुझे, ओ गुरु, ओ पिता, ओ साईं ।

खुश हूं आज मैं बहुत; आखिर तुने, तेरे लिए, मेरे हाथों से, एक कविता लिखवाई ।

गुण तेरे अपार, लिख नहीं पाउगी; परबत तु, मै हूं छोटिसी राई ।

तेरी महिमा अपरंपार, बया कर नहीं पाऊ; मुझमें प्रेम की अखंड ज्योत तुने है जलाई;

श्रृद्धा और सबूरी की, अनन्य ज्योति, मेरे जीवन में, तुने ही है जगाई ।

PRAY LET US ALL FOR....

A tragedy huge 9/11 took place, on this day.

Humanity was thrown aside that day.

Crushed n mutilated were values good that day.

The satan overpowering good, actually won that day.

Wish this tragedy would never have occurred that day.

Let us all pray for the people who died that day.

खुश रहो आप सदा, यह है अंतर से निकली दुआ

हमें तो डुबो दिया प्यारने, बहुत ही घेहरा था वह कुआ

और खाली है हमारी प्यार की गागर ।

शायद तैर नहीं पाएंगे हम; यह गहरा है सागर

और हमसे, बहुत ही दुर है किनारा

जाने सब, तैर नहीं सकता वो प्रेमी, जो है मन से हारा

बस पैगाम एक है आप के लिए, खुश रहना हमेशा

खुदा सुने दुआ यह हमारी, उम्र दराजी हो तुम्हारी ।

This is definitely worth a thought.

Every morning we select what clothes to wear.
But we rarely select what thoughts to wear on our minds.
Dresses impress others,
Thoughts impress us.

FRIENDS

Indeed lucky we are, if in life, we have true friends

A few are lucky to have the same friend, at every bend.

Otherwise most people make, good fair weather friends;

Who are great to party-sharty but in crisis, their friendship ends.

Some are silent snakes in the grass, beware; poison they spew.

Some are jealous but stick to you, to obtain benefits which are to you, due.

It's always good to have loving, caring helpful ones, in numbers few.

Lucky we are, if we have God sent friends; different may be their hue .

SATISFACTION

People ask You for posh homes, cars, luxuries so very many.

Interested they are in huge amounts of dollars, pounds not pennies.

I always thought,  I was not demanding; and a very satisfied soul;

And because of limited needs, life would therefore very easily roll.

Because a satisfied soul, ask You wouldn't, for many things more.

But here I was, requesting tiny things, n increasing was the score.

Love n warmth I seeked ; greenery I wished, all around, everywhere.

As dear ones departed, wondered I, gone away they had where ?

Consequently solace to bear the pain; n peace I seeked.

Health now deteriorated , doctors at my organs, often peeked;

So seeked I from You, happiness and good health.

To be able to pay for Medical insurance, asked I for some wealth.

My requests slowly and steadily increasing are; they are going too far !

Asking myself I am now; with the other demanding ones,  am I at par ?

Lord, grant me good health, happiness and peace.

And, may my frustrations, worries, fears all cease.

ભૂલવાનો તને, તારી પ્રીતને, પ્રયત્ન કર્યો મે અથાગ

તો પણ નદી ના નીર, બુઝાવી  શકીયા નહિ આં આગ

પ્યારે તારા, લગાવી દીધો, મારી કિસ્મત પર ડાઘ.


યાદ આવ્યો તું, જ્યારે બોલ્યાં કોયલ કે કાગ.

પળ પળ યાદ આવ્યો, પછી બહાર હોય કે હોય ફાગ

યા જ્યારે ફુલો ના સુગંધ થી મહેક્યો બાગ

ઝરણાંના અવાજ માં સંભળાયો તારા ગીતનો રાગ

દિલે કરી ટકોર, તું એને ભૂલીજ ક્યારે; તે જ લગાવી છે આં આગ

હવે શા કાજ બુઝાવી છે તને એ; જાગ જરા જાગ;

બુઝાવી શકીશ નહીં તું હવે આં આગ, બચી છે અહીં ખાલી રાખ.
