Otherwise, slowly we unpleasant words  often mumble;

Or like a wasp or bee, below our breath, softly just bumble.

Or with a verbal diarrhoea,  nonstop words, from our mouth simply tumble

But care great we must take, like a pack of cards,  not to crumble.

At times, in our desperation, or anger for words, we fumble,

Before we actually speak,  think we must often, or land we will in trouble.

Always remember to God thank for His grace, right away, for life is a big bubble.

Towards people whom think we  may are insignificant,  we aught to be humble.

KEEP ME SANE

People insane, worries have none, that's why, in a way, happy are those insane.

But their dear ones suffer, are  embarrassed often; n undergo a lot of searing pain,

So, for the sake of my dear ones, in spite of my pain, please keep me sane.

All around there is chaos n politics *****,
Amidst all this muck, keep me sane.

Selfishness there is all around, saddens me this; yet amidst all this, keep me sane.

Some times disgusted I feel to see what's going around, o help me; keep me sane.

Lord your Earth is teeming with monsters,  amidst these difficulties,  keep me sane.

To see our beautiful religion declining is disheartening, help us, keep us sane

Extremists, terrorists, corrupt politicians are this Earth ruining,  help me remain sane.

Greenery destroys insane humans, Nature weeps; how do I remain sane ?

Sometimes I wish I was heartless, I wouldn't have to undergo pain, help me remain sane.

Help the devil within us die, grant us wisdom,  please Lord, help me to remain sane.

ROOTS
Roots, so very important are, to grow a luxuriant tree

from these shackles, a tree does not ever try to itself free.

The trunk however strong, does not survive, if it's roots are rotten;
                                    
same truth holds for our roots; we will perish, if they are forgotten
                                              
Today “multi-culture” is in fashion, hence to our roots, properly we tend not.

Just to marry out of the fold, many  wars are often  fought.

When in a “bhel-puri” situation, a child lives n grows

religious values different, often confuse him; that's  why, them, out he  throws.
                                              
Weak grow his roots, sadly, from the very beginning of life !

As he grows up, alongside grow his confusion and he lives in strife.

Strengthen our ROOTS we must; passing it on to generation next.

Man, oh man, please grow some green;

If not a tree, plant at least a seed or bean.

This will help us keep our planet cool and serene.

In a little space grow a Mango tree, adorn your garden it will, like a queen.

A drumstick tree will ensure good health, if ill you have been

In small spots,  beautiful looking Money plants, I have seen.

To improve our oxygen and reduce pollution, we must be keen.

For this every human, from within, towards GREENERY must lean.

He took me out to eat  Khaja made of pure "mawa"

Alongside we had pina colada; as "daru-dawa".

Then went to Marine Drive; not for a drive, only "chaalta, farva"

Knelt down he and requested me to him "warva".

Now my  beloved Bawa n I are going, to a house  "shodhva".

Afraid he is, I won't marry him, "to lagyo e jiv  barva"

Quickly I said, "aapare ek bija maate chhaiye taiyaar marvaa"

So now, whether BPP gives us a house or not, we are ready to each other

Decided we have to, soon as possible, "lagan karvaa".

Time helps us to cope up and move on; but my wounds haven't yet healed.

Twelve years is a fairly long time; that time was given, to me heal; but didn't yield.

Fail to understand His ways I have, under trauma immense, I reeled.

When Mom left us, you n Jer Mummy helped me,  with  the loss to cope.

But  alone n orphaned I felt, the day you left; for support, I did *****.

Drowned in sorrow,  helpless I felt; when for your survival there was no hope.

Put up a brave front we often do and to strong remain,  we  pretend;

But actually in reality need we our guardian, a gardener who to us  can  tend.

That loving hand I will always miss,  who  guided me at every difficult bend.

In  Heaven, happily with Mom  may you always spiritually progress.  

Guide us n help us siblings to here live with your principles high. We shouldn't digress.

These days, during these times trying,  everything just seems to be in a  mess.

Water supply round the clock use you may; but water, waste not.

Fashion follow, but think about the naked shivering; clothes waste not.

Eat, drink & merry be, but remember,  everyday is not a feast!

Little food, spare for the hungry please, man, bird n beast.

Water try to reuse, from washing machines n RO  plants at least.

ઘવાયું છે, જખ્મી થયું છે આજે, એમનું સ્વાભિમાન, સ્વમાન.

શું આં જ, પેલા સ્વપ્નોનું  છે, આપણું પોતાનું હિન્દુસ્તાન?

He wouldn't die an untimely death at the hands of Ram.

Kurush  Mama, gifted a cute little baby to Shez, that's you , my bundle of joy.

For me it was a promotion big, when in my arms I received the precious most toy.

Every one came to visit you immediately, long past mid night; this cute baby boy.

Rati Mami, was with me through out,  (you were born at  1.25 am  early morn).

Nurgesh Aunty on a wheelchair; n Nivi Mami came straight from a  party, when you were born.

All the Motashaws visited you at 3 am, in silence,  no music, just the car horn.

Delzu dolly, Burzee  Mama just to have a peek, even said, your siblings they were.  

Mami, Mama were  ever so helpful; n Navaz Mami,  cuddled you n you just loved her.

Wonderful it would be if  bless you could, your revered great grandparents Keki n Jer.

May  Ahura bless you with His blessings choicest n  all our dear departed ones too.

Even to  tiny details,  with interest great,  he was  attending.

When you into a beautiful maiden grew; from him, they snatched you away.

The bedecked bride, from her own father was  ruthlessly taken away.


Then  mistreated you were grossly,  and soon your beauty and youth,  you lost.

This, to your admirers was a setback big. To your employees, heavy was the cost.

Today on your Birthday,  I wish you well.  May your fame, once  again,  rise n soar.

फिर भी

बोलियाँ, भाषाए भले  है अनेक हमारी, फिर भी हम, एक है ।

मज़हब और  जात पात भले हो अनेक , फिर भी हम एक हैं ।

पोशाक अलग, पगड़ी अनेक, कंहि  साडी, कंहि सलवार, फिर भी हम एक हैं

मराठी, पंजाबी, मद्रासी, गुजराती, पर हम सारे हिन्दुस्तानी एक है ।

कहीँ भंग्डा, कहीं भरतनात्यम , गरबा,लावणी, बिहू, पर हम, एक
हैं ।

संगीत भी अनेक, भजन, गजल, कव्वाली या शास्त्रीय,पर हम तो एक है ।

रसोई, व्यंजन अलग, तरह तरह के; यह सब एक ही माता देती है; इस लीये हम एक हैं।

राष्ट्र पिता महात्मा गांधी ने हमें एक रहने का आदेश दिया है, क्यूँ की हम एक है ।

कितना अच्छा होता, अगर नेता, मुल्ला, पंडित यह सच बताते, के हम सब एक है ।

चलो गाये, " मज़्हब नहीं सिखाता आपस में बैर रखना, हिंदी है हम, हिन्दोस्ताँ हमारा "।

MY VIVID IMAGINATION

Lemon seeds few I throw, n grow from them should umpteen lemon trees

Similarly Mango, Chiku, guava, drumstick,  orange trees should increase.

May coconut palms plenty flourish, swaying gracefully along with sea breeze.

Date palms, so very many,  should grow, turning into oasis, the dry desert sands.

How very beautiful will our  Earth look, imagine Her I; as if,  like a bride she stands.

No poor, hungry will go, when filled with  veggies n fruits will be our lands.

Happy beyond words I be will, if on every road n highway happen this really  would;

If every man plant trees few could; this Earth like paradise, surely look would

if instructions given can be, our doongerwadis, Baugs, like orchards look would.

O  Ahura,  silly sound to many it could,  but You can, my imagination easily fulfil.

May my vivid imagination come true. May  Amardad  Ameshaspand n Spenta  Armaiti also, this will;

May the rich selflessly look into this, n green become our land; every dale n hill.

A BIT OF UNDERSTANDING

Only if all of us, diligently practised this,

The entire world would be at peace.

Let's not tear apart this beautiful Earth into pieces

With wicked, mean, selfish ways,  man, it fleeces

A wee bit of understanding,  can  spread mirth n peace.

Selfish a man is born,  but understanding powers are his.;

If this he uses well,  difficulties would certainly cease.

LET'S AWAKEN OUR CONSCIENCE.  GREAT UNDERSTANDING IT WILL RELEASE.

O SEERS

A common man is mostly interested in living a happy peaceful life.

Fed up he is with this, never  ending,  continuous day to day strife

Over worked he is and drained off, by the taxes he has to pay.

But the poor man,  in any such matter, sadly doesn't have a say.

Taxed heavily,  directly and indirectly by these taxes, crushed he is.

The helpless elders, after slogging all life long,  cannot live in peace.

Unfortunately the government or  religious heads bothered aren't about his life or him.

Scope of his happiness has  diminished; it's rather dying ! almost dim.

Request I these politicians, so called religious leaders to look within ;

Karma,  does not leave anyone, we all pay back have to,  for every sin.

Therefore peep within,  awaken your almost  comatosed conscience.

Stir up, fight the devil,  let us people; the  common man live in peace with confidence.

It is through them, that God has given us oxygen free.

Oxygen to four supplies a lush green tree;

Duty it is ours, to keep ourselves covid free.

AFTER ME

Even after I am gone,  may many people,  my work carefully read.

On understanding it, may parents n grandparents better kids breed.

With everyone growing trees n plants, the environment will be fresh indeed !

With my constant prodding, with this green, may pure air people breathe.

May peace and prosperity prevail n no one under terror  does seethe.

Wish I, every child loves and diligently practises our religion n increases our creed.

Parsipanu n the great values of our ancestors flourish abundantly may.

Write I, with all my heart, and with conviction full, I pray;

"Hope Every Parsi Puthra believes (n works too) that PARSIS ARE HERE TO STAY".

Easy it is not, but upset please do not be .

Perhaps, your image wrongly they conceive or see.

Karma leaves no one, it charges its own penalty or fee

માનવીને આદત પડી ગઈ છે, હર વાતમાં ટાંગ અડાવવાનિ, કરવા ખોટી પારકી પંચાત

બધિ ચીજો માં પોતાનુ ડાહ્પન  દેખાડવાની, મુશ્કીલ કરવા, કોઇ  સરળ વાત

દોઢ ડાહ્યાને  ચેન નહિ પડે , જ્યાં સુધી બતાવે નહિ એ, એની અસલ  જાત.

ભગવાન જાણે, શું મળે એને, ઊંડી  કે પોહ્ળી કરવા હર તિરાડ, હર  ફાટ.

નાની નાની વાતો નું કરે વતેસર, સગા સંબંધીઓ ને રંજાડિ, ભીડે બધાની સાથે બાથ.

પરમેશ્વર પ્યારા, શિદ પડે છે માનવને આવી આદત, આં ટેવથી  દુર રેહવા, આપજે મને સાથ.

A BATTERED SPIRIT

How casually n indifferently we say, "there was yet another
**** ;

Without feeling the pain, we just make a casual statement on tape.

Unbothered  we are, because our own are safe n in a good shape;

Imagine can you,  if someone your daughter,  tries to undrape !

It tears apart not just a girl's body; but shatters her mind n spirit into bits.

Flogged the culprits should be; a death sentence them truly befits;

For nothing less than that,  these rich,  powerful monsters would hit.

This heinous crime they commit n with their power n money a false story knit.


When this happens, it adds insult to injury n under an excruciating pain she reels

That's  why this a woman's spirit shatters n batters; to die would be better,  she feels.

Unable to bear this humiliation,  she herself into self imprisonment seals.

Her tattered body, mind n spirit with this harsh reality, seldom positively deals.


I implore,  every Mother her son should teach,  to a girl respect.

It is an absolute must to have a correct mindset on this aspect.

And teach we must all,  our daughters about its horrible impact.

How to safeguard themselves, be they of any age, or belong they may to any sect .

LET'S PRAY THE LORD IN US GOOD SENSE INSTILS.

Every reader of poetry,  pleeeeeeease do read one,  with your heart;

Of a poet's life, his/her feelings, a poem is a very important part.

Do not please sceptical be, or its grammar or spellings correct;

A poet expresses his views, his feelings, which on him, has had a deep impact.

Tries he, to a message share,  about something important that he really does care.

To  crush those delicate feelings, to be harsh on them; will it be really fair???

It is said that a poet reaches the darkest corner,  where doesn't reach the Sun.

Because of anguish, ire, feelings delicate, to read a poem may not always be fun;

Yet, request you I, to always read a poem with your heart,  not your head

Very sensitive is a poet about his work; for all his delicate feelings into a poem he has fed.

फिर एक बार

आज  फिर से  मचा है राष्ट्र भर में   हाहाकार ;

सोचती हूँ, कब तक होता रहेंगा ऐसा अत्याचार;

देश की एक बेटी, बर्बाद हुई है फिर एक बार;

हुआ है उसका समग्र  जिवन, तार तार

पर अब तो लोगोको आदत सी हो गई है, सुनने की यह चित्कार!!!

शरीर नोचा गया, आत्मा घायल, मन घायल; यही होता है बार बार;

जब तक मनुष्यता नहीं जागेगी, यह तो होता रहेगा लगातार ।

मात पिता, भाई बंधु, पतिओ के लिए है एक ललकार;

जागो, खत्म करो इन वैशि दरिंदो को, नही तो होता रहेगा यही बार बार ।

दुर्गा, काली  बन जा तू स्वयं ; अब यही है एक उपचार ।

मर जाने से हांसिल कुछ नहीं होता, उठा हाथ और अब  तुहि उसे मार ।

ओ वैशि दरिंदो, तुमहारि बिमारी का अब ऐसे ही करना पड़ेगा उपचार;

न जेल, न  कानुन, हर दुर्गा, हर  काली अब तुम पर करेगी वार ।

Gandhiji n Shastriji  for our nation  bled;

Killed them, sadly our  brethren with the same red.

A loss great it was for our nation,  as they lay dead

Good,  honest people for the wicked are a  threat;

The dishonest n corrupt, these honest leaders dread

Removed they are, by killing them, by political heads

But live they, for ever in our hearts and our head

So that they forever  live; in history, they should be read.

MY  ***** BUDDY, MY  GRANDDAUGHTER

She is only nine,  and yet at  66, a friend in me, she does see.

Her  "ten year old toy",  she often cuddles; this she  cutely calls me.

Does my manicure, pedicure  and at times,  even applies  mehndi,

Makes  hair styles on my grey, to make me look trendy

We draw, paint, do  craft; and in singing and other creativities, also indulge;

At times, she rides upon me, calling me an alligator with  a bulge.

For a while uno we play, often also jumble words or  scrabble.

Whilst studying Geography with the game Atlas and  a globe we dabble.

But to make her actually study,  is a difficult task  indeed !!!

At times,  becomes she, a baby and feed her I have to; literally spoon feed

Insists she,  I share her food , lucky I am, from her  chocolate to get a lick.

Willing she  is,  even to share her favourite  popsicle stick.

My cheeks she pulls , or  my  neck she plays with,  calling me, "Fuzzy " ; her  pet

Anyone would fall in love with her charming ways; about this, I can  easily  bet

જીવન સંધ્યા

પલક ઝપકતા આખું જીવન, વહિ ગયું , હતું જે અતિ વ્યસ્ત.

વિચાર કર્યો હતો, પછી નુ જીવન વિતાવિશ, બની મસ્ત.

હવે, સંધ્યા ની વેળા છે, સુર્ય થઈ રહ્યો છે ધીરે ધીરે અસ્ત

કીધી હતી જે વ્યવસ્થા , થઈ રહ્યું છે બધુંજ હવે અસ્ત વ્યસ્ત.

શરીર છોડી રહ્યું છે સાથ ધીરે ધીરે, જીવવું પડે છે બની ત્રસ્ત

વડિલો, સાથી, સંગી નો એક પછી એક થઈ રહ્યો છે અસ્ત;

તો વળી સ્વાર્થી સગા સંબંધીઓ, દોસ્તો દુભાવિ લાગણી, કરી રહ્યા છે રિશ્તાઓ નષ્ટ

પ્રભુ પ્યારા, એકલાં રહેતાં શીખવી દે; જીવન જીવું, સોપી બધુ તારે હસ્ત

કરજે પીડાઓ હળવી ફુલ જેવી, હરિ લેજે બધાં કષ્ટ

જીવન સંધ્યા બનાવજે ગુલાબી, થાય જયારે આં સુર્ય અસ્ત.

THIS DIWALI

Let us be true children of the soil n Mother India;
Let us,  like in  ancient times,  use  mud  "diyas".
Many from this pandemic have suffered directly or indirectly,  let us help Nature n our own  artisans by using these  Mud  "diyas".
Chinese products may be cheaper, but they use OUR MONEY AGAINST US . Pleeeeeeease don't let this happen. Use our own INDIAN, home made products and celebrate this wonderful festival of lights.
Let us light someone's life. By doing this,  many poor people will benefit.
LET'S DO OUR DUTY TOWARDS MOTHER INDIA  AND  MOTHER EARTH.
