Many lives precious,  from us you have snatched

Gone away have people to whom we were very closely attached

To the human race,  billions  and trillions of dollars you have cost

Lives, businesses,  jobs,  so very many people have lost.

But the saddest part is,  them we couldn't take care of, neither meet

Even prayers unattended remain because chained you have,  our feet.

Agreed that it is our karma, it's Nature's ire we face, but now please us  forgive;

Go away now for ever, and to this human race,  a respite pleeeease give.

યાચના

"જાને  ક્યારે તું, સુધારશે તારો આં સવેદંનશીલ  સ્વભાવ"

લોકો આજકાલ સમઝતાં નથી દિલનો, લાગણીઓ નો સાચો ભાવ

આજના જમાનામાં વ્યાપાર થી થાય છે વ્યહવાર

ઔધા, પૈસાની છે બોલ બાલા, ભાવુકતા ની થાય છે હાર.

એટલે તો લાગણીશીળ લોકો ને કહે છે લોક ગાંડા, આવા ની જરુર ક્યાં !

ખેંચાય બધાં, જ્યાં  રુત્બો, પૈસા, પ્રતિષ્ઠા હોય ત્યાં.

શીદ બનાવી હશે તે આવી વ્યાહવારુ, નિષ્ઠુર  દુનિયા !

વિચારું છું, આવાં લોકો ને, તે તારી  સૃષ્ટિમાં શા કાજ બુનિયાં !

પણ પછી ખ્યાલ આવે છે, તેં પણ તારાં વહાલાઓ ને હમેશાં તરસાવિયાં હતાં.

આખરે, યશોદા-નંદ, ગોપ- ગોપીઓ, રાધા ઉપર પણ દુખના વાદળ વારસીયા હતાં !

સાંભળ મારી હૃદય થી કરેલી ભાવભીની પ્રાથના, કરું છું એક યાચના;

યા તો લોકોને , તું
મારાં જેવાં લાગણીશીળ બનાવતો ના;

યા તો, બીજાં પ્રાણીઓને,પત્થરનાં , પાષાણ જેવાં બનાવતો નાં.

याद तेरी दिलाता है, यह हसीन चांदनी का  नूर ।

भले तु है मुझसे मिलों दूर, सचमे, बहुत ही दूर ;

तेरी यादमें पुंज लेती हूँ चांद को, यह है मेरे  प्यार का सुरुर

काश मेरा प्यार, कर सकता था तुझे, मिलने के लिए मजबुर

देखना  प्रितम, याद रखना यह बात, एक दिन ऐसा होगा जरुर !

(WRITTEN IN A LIGHTER VEIN)

બધી વાનગીઓ ઉપર ઈંડુ ખાવાની આં કેવી  ઘેલછા છે તારી?

ઓ  બાવા, ક્યારે આવશે માત્ર  શાકભાજી ખાવાની વારી?

કોઇ દિવસ તો ખા તું , શુદ્ધ મસાલેદાર  તરકારી,

ક્યારેક તો તું બની ને જો, એક  શુદ્ધ શાકાહારી.

કુદરતે બનાવી છે આં દુનિયા, વિવિધ ફુલો, ફળો શાકો થી ન્યારી.

તો  શા માટે ઈંડાં સાથે આવે બકરી અને  બિચારી મરઘી; કેમ નહિ તરકારિ ?

ક્યારે સુધરશે તું; સુધાર આં  વિચિત્ર, ખાટકી જેવી આદતો તારી.

અરે બાવા, મન ખોલી, ખાઇ જો શાક ભાજી, બની એક શાકાહારી.

कलाई

नाजुक, अती सुंदर थी वो गोरी गोरी, फुलसी  कलाई;

गोरी गोरी और  मुलायम थी , मानो  दूध-मलाई ।

थी उसपर  सुंदर, कलात्मक मेहंदी, जो  पिया को थी भाइ,

रंग बिरंगी चूडियां थी,  उस नाजुक कलाई पर चढाई।

और वोह सोने के कंगन, अती सुंदर की थी उनपर नंगो से जदाई

सोने की पहनी थी अंगूठी उसने, हीरों से मढाई ।

कितना सुंदर मुख होगा उसका, जिसकी इतनी नाजुक है कलाई ।

काश ज़लक एक मिलती मुझे, पर घूंघट में वो थी समाई ।

ISN'T HE ONE?

Called He is, by so very many, endlessly different names ;

Worshipped He is with various different n selfish aims.

But, know we this my dear friend, that God is an entity, just one.

Called He may be God, Ahura Mazda, Bhagvan, Allah, Shiv, Father n son.

Legends many, parables, stories umpteen, about Him are told.

Things of worship, charms, malas amulets, rosaries in His name are sold.

The worst, the saddest is, taking His holy name, instead  of uniting,  people fight;

Politicians instigate voters,  that others are wrong n they are right.

Public worshippers often a nuisance for many others create;

Conversions are harmful, yet sadly,  increasing alarmingly is their rate.

Why are we so cruel n autocratic? Why do we have to wrongly, things right prove ?

Can't we worship peacefully and lovingly, In a way that He truly does approve?

THE EFFECTS OF LOVE

An ailing patient, with a dose of love n care,  survive can.

That's why,  patient's relatives, from visiting, do not ban.

Even a pet,  who unconditional love gives, helps to heal.

Doctors,  Nurses,  should try to treat a patient,  with a  feel.

Mother Teresa,  helped those helpless ones,  with love;

She selflessly did, the abandoned ones, lovingly serve.

Love,  a hardened heart, a heart like stone, can at times melt.

Sinners big, robbers, thieves,  murderers, loves positive effects have felt.

Easy it will be, if once this idea, our world conceives.

May we our hearts n minds open up and love sincerely give.

જીવન ની  ગુંચવણ નથી સંભાળી શક્તિ હું,  ઓ દિનાનાથ;

હિમ્મત આપ, આપ તારો પ્રેમાળ  હાથ,  અને તારો  સાથ.

નાતવાન થઈ ગયું  છે શરીર, મજબુતીથી  પકડજે  મારો નબળો હાથ;

એમ પકડજે, જેમ પકડીયો હતો કૃષ્ણ એ  પાર્થ નો હાથ.

જીવન માં ગડમથલ જવાનું  લેતી નથી નામ, ભિષણ છે એની બાથ;

આવે છે આં જીવન માં સંકટ અણે કેટલી એ ઘાત

ખમવા પડે છે ન જાણે કેટલા ય તોફાન અણે જાત જાત ના આઘાત

આપજે સદા મને , ઓ દિનાનાથ, આં તારો મજબુત પણ  પ્રેમાળ હાથ;

Picturesque memories in our memories,  one can jot

Memories these beautiful, linger with us, life long

Remain etched in our hearts they do,  like our favourite song;

Sing along which we do, all  the time, all the way.

Loving memories of our beloved ones, with us always stay.

A constant stimulation,  n freshness this does give.

Scarred or  festered, even today, the wound is deep.

Sadly,  its effects into our very being, still does seep.

Thousands of innocent lives were wounded and lost;

To the world, drastic  and very heavy was the cost.

Took over they, the entire nation; leaving one stunned, not a loop!!!

How can men so inhuman become, why do they, so low stoop!!!

Sadly,  history for ages will remember this fateful day,  this date;

O  Creator,  why did You such inhuman monsters create ?

Help O  Lord, everyone to quickly heal and better feel.

Help these misleads to a  better life  lead, n compassionately deal.

MAKE OR BREAK

It is entirely upto us,  whether we wish to make or  break

With some sugar,  butter and flour,  one can make a delicious cake;

Or on the computer,  one can create an image beautiful yet fake.

It's in hands of one,  to bake a real cake delicious; or a colourful image make.

It's one's own life, and decide how to it spend one must; for one's own sake.

Relations with good feelings we can create or with words harsh break.

The goodwill n trust in business we can create or an existing one break.

Thoughts, words, deeds good, with a loving mind create; an attempt make.

Ensure must one, qualities good, tender n loving must  be always  kept awake.

OVERLOOK

Noticed often it has been,  that people some are inconsiderate, very mean.

They understand do not,  feelings tender, of others; sadly this is often seen.

Alas !  to  see another's view, or to overlook a bit,  learnt they have never;

Because consider they,  that there are none like them;   so very clever.

This world of ours,  would be happier, more peaceful, so much better;

Had we, people kind and considerate, instead of these go getters.

A little  tolerance,   and understanding would help maintain calm  n peace.

Their intolerance n remarks unkind , tear a tender heart to bits,  into many a piece.

Let's all learn to understand, be  patient n considerate or at least overlook

Rigid, pompous or hard hearted be not; for find we such people at every  nook.

Immensely satisfying n ecstatic is the joy of grand parenthood

Exchange this pure joy, this happiness with no one, I would.

Wish  every grand parent,  like me, enjoy this could.

This joy for  the elderly n kids, is soul satisfying emotional food

A  request to parents all;  do give grandparents,  this opportunity good.

A child small, in the family,  is for us,  Ahura's  gift best.

This helps us elderly, to bear the burden of old age; to pass life's test.

Their chattering,  joyful squeals helps our aching bodies to rejuvenate n rest

To a child become once  again,  playing with kids, is by itself, a big fest.

Remember,  grandparents are a part important,  in a family; not merely guests.

Best is this combination for both; please this fact, always remember.

Grandparents provide the love n warmth,  like glowing embers.

Kids from grandparents learn, n strong roots develop; along with pamper(ing)

Urge I modern parents to this remember; your parents are very much, your family members.

In a child's upbringing, these are the strong, evergreen firs.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAREST DARLING DAUGHTER, SHEZ.

After a labour really prolonged;

Came the one,  for whom I longed.

Chubby, with  a dimpled chin,  you were so v. fair

Eyes most attractive n beautiful, with tiny golden hair.

At last,  after trials several, at 8.40pm you were born.

With  a silver bracelet n a silk dress,  you, they did adorn.

The first, you were, in the entire  Motashaw clan !

Nurgesh Aunty,  at her home a grand party did plan.

Remember I,  cuddling you n keeping you with me; in  the  nursery not.

Then with celebrations many,  home you were brought.

પ્રીત ની આવી કેવી અનોખી રીત; શા કાજ આં તન્હાઈ !

હતો તું નટખટ,  જોતા આવિયા છિયે અમે  તારી  ચતુરાઇ;

સતાવતો  અમને, તદપાવતો હતો અમને તું,  ઓ પ્રિય કન્હાઇ

પણ તું  હતો નહી  આવો કઠોર, તો  કેમ બની ગયો હરજાઈ?

શું રાજા થયાં પછી ગોપ ગોપિયો તારાં રહ્યાં નથી કોઇ?

રાધા મુરલીની ધૂન સાંભળતા, ખોતી સુધ્બુદ્ધ, જતી  તારી  તરફ તણાઇ

તારી, એની જોડે એક સુંદર,  અનોખી પ્રેમ ગાથા હતી વણાઇ  

તારી જોડે રાસ રમવા એ સદા રહતી આતુર, પુકારતી તને તાણ ગાઈ

તારું રાજ પાટ છોડી, મોહ માયા છોડી ચાલ્યો આવ ઓ  કન્હાઇ.

તારી વિરહમાં આંસુ વહાવે બધા, પણ જમુનાજી ગયાં છે સુકાઇ.

કાન્હાં, ઓ કેશવ, આવી જા હવે , ક્યાં બેઠો છે છુપાઇ?

HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY

Everyone in some way, is a teacher and also a  student.

To learn things good we should be students eager  n ardent.

Teachers, lots of knowledge, in subjects varied, to us impart.

Our  Mom is our first teacher; from here,  education starts.

Learning is continuous; knowledge an ocean is; not a tank.

Today, this opportunity I take, to sincerely all my teachers thank.

A  very big thank you to everyone who taught me something.

It's from  you  TEACHERS,  that this fledgling has got beautiful wings.

Happy happy happy happiest birthday, to our Mom little.

Just the other day,  you were our own,  very little girl;

Sitting on our lap, playing hide-and-seek, smug, cutely curled

Slowly but certainly,  gradually, yet surely, upon your shoulders little;

Took up you, responsibilities truly big, of looking after us too.

During these days of  covid,  Phil n you our responsibilities beautifully shoulder;

Try you,  our lil Mom, to  remove every obstacle that comes our way, every boulder.

Thank you Lil  Mom, for this task herculean,  along with responsibilities other

Very sweetly n unassumingly shouldered them, you did; our cute loving Mother.

May Ahura bless you now n alwayssssss with His blessings choicest.

પણ મન હૃદયમાં સમાયો તું જ, પળ હતી વિશેષ એ એક.

ઍજ એક પળ થી, માણ્યો તને જ, મારો જનમ જન્મો નો  મીત

લાખો માં થી, તેં લુભાવ્યુ દિલ; કેવી અનોખી છે મારી આં પ્રીત

જોતાં જ મે તને, માની લીધો મારો; પણ તે કદી જ માની નહિ મને તારી.

નથી તું મારો, નથી હું તારી, તો પણ  રચાઇ એક અનોખી પ્રેમ કહાની.

વિના  કોઇ શરત, વિના કોઇ  મુલ્ય, બસ થઈ ગઈ હું તારી ;

પણ તારે માટે તો, સદા રહી હું એક અજનબી, પરાઈ

ભગવાનના ભક્તો તો છે અનેક; અને તું તો અમ બધાનો ભગવાન

મારી પ્રીતથી તું અને આં આખું જગત છે અણજાણ.

હું મંદિરમાં ન પ્રવેશી શકે એવી બીજાં હઝારો જેવી, તારી  એક પુજારણ;

ક્યાં હું, અને ક્યાં તારી રાધા રાની, ઓ મનમોહન !!!

કરજે તારાં ચાહકો,  આં મારા જેવા ઓ પર એક ઉપકાર

આપજે અમને બી  એક  સ્મિત, અમે થોડો પ્યાર.

આં સાલ, શું  નવરોઝ કે  શું  ખોરદાદ સાલ;

આજુ બાજુ, આખી દુનિયા માં, ચારો તરફ છે  બબાલ;

દુખ, મૉત, માંદગી માં જ  વીતી રહ્યુ છે આં સાલ.

આવી પરિસ્થિતિ માં તમાચો મારી ગાલ રાખવો પડે છે લાલ

માલિક મારા, ઓ  ખુદા મારા, સુધાર અમારા બગડેલા હાલ.

તારી નથી કોઇ મિસાલ, તું તો છે કમાલ

Said I to myself, "Oh  Armin,  when will you stop this  day dreaming "?

"Stop it at once, or people at you, will soon be screaming!!!"

Ahh  only if I were rich,  a complex at  Udwadia,  I would definitely build.

O  Ahura,  how I wish,  this You would have,  in  my destiny willed.

Then, materialize would my  ideas,  I  often so enthusiastically conceive .

Elderly couples could here securely and most comfortably live.

The  air here,  unpolluted , fresh n crisp is,  with  sea  breeze ozone rich n cool.

A  compound with a garden,  lawn, a gym, n a  swimming pool;

Medical facilities,  good food, and of course, exist should transport.

Time fly would happily for them, they can dine, wine, dance and enjoy some sport.

If our wealthy ones, like Tatas, Godrej, Poonawala, Pallonjis et al,  a building each would donate;

Filled with Happppppinessss n health, secured would be,  our elders fate.

With  IRANSHAH  close at hand,  the Parsi population here will increase

Only if some benevolent Sethias, would take up this project pleeeeeeease.

A plea this is, from this dreamer to these seers affluent, wealthy and rich;

After reading this poem,  lives of many elders you can very easily enrich.

હે  વિઘ્ન્હરતા, હે  ગણેશ, છે તુ  જગ મશહુર ;

ભલે ખાજે તું, તારા  માનીતા મોદક  ભરપુર;

પણ જલદી કર આં તમામ ધરાના, બધાજ કષ્ટ દુર

લીધાં જાન લાખોના; આં  કરોના છે સાચેજ  બહુ ક્રુર

વરસાદ, પુર, આંધી, તોફાન પણ  કરે છે પોતાના ઉપર ગુરુર.

કર આં સર્વ વિપદાઓ, આ બધી મુસીબતો દુર.

ગાઉ ભજન તારાં શૃદ્ધા ભક્તિ થિ, લાગે  સાચા સુર

ઓ શિવ પાર્વતી ના  પુત્ર, વધે સદા તારું નુર.

ઓ વિઘ્ન્હર્તા, જલદી  કરજે સકળ જગની વિપદાઓ દુર.

તને એમની બાહોં માં લઈ, થયાં હશે માતા  દુઘદવા ( દોગ્દો) બહુ ખુશ;

પિતા પૌરુષસ્પે પ્રકૃતિ નિ સાથે મળી ઉજવ્યો હશે આં તેહવાર, ઓ  ઝરથુશ્ત્ર.

અમે બી મનાવિયે છિયે આં ખુશાલી, ખારાં દિલથી, હર સાલ.

પૈગામ્બર પ્યારા, મુબારક હોજો તમને હર એક રીતે,  ખોરદાદ સાલ.  

માનીયે કોટિ કોટિ ઉપકાર અહુરા નો, કરી આદર પુર્વક એમને નમન

અને, આં મોટી ખુશાલિમાં લઈ ભાગ, કરીયે સ્વાદિષ્ટ મઝાનું જમણ.

કર્મ

તારાં કર્મ તારે આડે આવે છે, ઓ માનવ

ભુલી ભલાઇ, બની ગયો છે તું એક દાનવ

પુણ્ય કરે કોઇ એકાદ અને  પાપ કરે નવ ;

ત્યારે કાંટાળી ને રચે આં પ્રકૃતિ તાંડવ

થાય  ભુકંપ, પડે દુકાળ, આવે પ્રલય;

ત્યારે, આં જોઇને ડર ને  મારે, લાગવા લાગે તને ભય

કર્મ છોડે ન કોઇને ભી, જેમ વક્ત ન બદલે એનો લય.

તો  હે  માનવ, હવે તો  નિંદ્રા માં થી જાગ

બુઝાવ તારે હાથે લગાડેલી તારી આં આગ

ન કર  પ્રકૃતિને નષ્ટ, ઉગાડ ઝાડપાન, માનવતાથી દુર ન  ભાગ.

चांदनी

बीना चांद के, जिसका कोई भी  अस्तित्व नहीं, मै हूँ वो चांदनी ।

फीकी पड़ रही हूँ, बिना तेरे ; पता है हर किसीको, चांद  के बिना कैसी चांदनी !

अमावस्यकी रात बडी ही है लम्बी, जब चांद नही, तो कहां से होगी चांदनी !

न जाने कब तक यूहीं चलेगी यह अमावस्य की रात; उदास है बिचारि चांदनी!

ऐ चांद, तरस रही है तेरे दिदार को  तेरी यह फीकी पड़ती हुई चांदनी ।

दर्शन दे ओ चांद मेरे, तरस रही है तेरे लिए, तेरी अपनी ही यह चांदनी।

बादल छाये हैं गहरे, काले और  घनेरे; आंख मिचौनी न खेल, कहती है चांदनी ।

उसे बचाने की, जिगर ओ  जान से कोशिस कर तू

જો ધંધા માં, કે બીજી મુસીબતમાં થઈ ગયો છે તું બરબાદ;

તો  ખારાં મનથી, યકીન થી, કરજે તું  બેહરામ યઝદ ને યાદ.

આસાન કરશે એવન  તારી મુશ્કીલ, સાંભળશે તારી યાચના, ફરિયાદ.

આપે છે એ ભલા યઝદ આપણ ને તાકાત, કરે છે મુશિકેલિયો આસાન.

હે પરમ કૃપાળુ પરમાત્મા,

દુખ થી, ગમ થી ભરાઇ જાય છે આં નાજુક હૃદય મારું

શું  વલોવાઇ જતું નથી આં સમ્વેદનષિળ હ્રદય તારું

સત્યાનાશ થાય છે તારી આં ધરા નુ અને અમારું

માનવ માનવ સાથે લડે, દેશ દેશ સાથે કરે યુદ્ધ

કરાવ બંધ આં કાર્યો  નીચ; તું તો છે સંપુર્ણ  બુદ્ધ

આપ હર કોઇ ને એક  નેક મન, અને હૃદય શુદ્ધ.

કરોડો રૂપિયા ખર્ચાય છે યુદ્ધ માં, વિનાશ માટે

માનવ નોતરે છે બેહિસાબ નાશ અને ગમ હાથે જાતે

આં પૈસા માથી ભૂખ્યાં મેળવી શકતે  અન્ન પોતાના હાથે.

કર આં અહમ, સત્તા, લાલચ, વેર ઝેર ના ખાત્મા

ઝનઝોડ અમારો સુસ્ત થઈ ગયેલો, પાપભર્યો   આત્મા

કર મદદ સકળ જગની, ઓ  દયાળું પરમાત્મા .
