Eternal seas of tears cried by mothers singing lullabies,
The sun sets in the sky, never revealing  the secrets it hides.
A river flows down a mountain,
Into the everlasting fountain of lies,
No one will ever be righteous in the eyes of the misplaced child,
Who's mother sang her  a lullaby.
This poem is about a close friend of mine who's Father died when she was very very young, when she was growing up her mother would sing a song to her  that her father loved, she grew up never to trust anyone because of what happened to her father, and once told me that not even her mother was righteous of her trust.

I was tired enough to weep
He still looked me in the eye
My baby boy only got his sleep
From the music of the lullaby

Even after we said the prayers
Many minutes did pass by
But he was soon taken unawares
By the magic of the lullaby

Yes, he's had milk to drink
And the comfort of a good cry
Now, his eyes close in sync
To the melody of the lullaby

I bestow on him a loving kiss
I tiptoe out and tell him bye
I owe this sweet rest and peace
To the miracle of the lullaby
My baby boy is a tough one to soothe to sleep. I've had to try many methods. The lullaby once came through for me and kept him asleep for a good while! :-)

It's at the wink of the eyes,
The sleep sliped out,
Awake to the world,
To wander and to lose.

At the flutter of the eyes,
You tried to beckon,
The sleep lost,
With dreamy halves.

You tried to erase,
The deep marks etched,
You tried to shut,
The brunts thrown.

At the blink of your eye,
Slowly the sleep seeps in,
Asleep to the world,
Awake to your mind.

If you believe in happy endings,
I believe in love.
I believe the Universe is sending
Singnals from above.
All my emotions I wear on my sleeve.
From the start I knew that I would grieve.
Promises were made to break.
How much more can one heart take
From you.
Oh, you
Think nothing more will come of Tears
Than water-shedding through the years with you.
I am the one who can see
The depth beyond your narrow need.
Denials that you always claim
Never live up to their fame.
We lie in bed at night and cry.
Silent tears, my lullaby.
I wonder ever when the lies will end,
As we continue to pretend,
We cycle through the lies again,
and again,
and again.
I wrote this in 2005. Starting out, it was inspired by British progressive rock and was going to be song lyrics, however it got to a place I liked. Too brief to be a song, I just let it be the poetry it had become.

Rumors flew but nobody knew how much she blamed herself.
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath.
But never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind.
Until the night,
She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger.

Darkness swaddles moonlight,
Bamboo groves sing lullaby,
Love moves the still air.

If you close your eyes and sleep
I will meet you in your dreams
Not a whisper or a peep
You mean so much to me

So rest your tired head
Dream of angels near your bed
Dream of places that we'll go and see
Together you and me

So close your eyes and sleep
I will meet in your dreams
The miles apart cant mess with our hearts
Love is an inspiring thing.
Originally intended to be a song, but writers block decided it will be a poem

haunting
blossoms,
          lustful skies
   turn my daydreams
       but to nigh.

          gentle nightmares
       keep me sane
and     keep this
              hope
   locked in my brain

            i won't say
i        like it
    i never will
         but at least
  this way
my thoughts
         won't spill

All around me
These smiling faces
With kindness in their eyes
The guy who teasingly tickles me
When he comes sneaking from behind
The girl who's always ready to listen
When I'm feeling troubled
All these people
Why is it
That they care 'bout my problems?...

Every morning
We say "hello"
And when school's out
It's "see you tomorrow"
When I feel down
They try to make me laugh
If I look lonely
They'll come and hang with me

All these people
All these smiling faces
I wonder
Why do they care about me?
I too
Want to make them laugh
I too
Want  to listen
When they need it...

I want to be able to repay them
All the things
Which they have done for me
I want to tell them
How much their help means to me
I want to show my gratitude
But how to do that?
The question leaves me confused...

Missed a class?
I send them my notes
Need help with exams?
I'll free my schedule
So I can help 'em through
I want to help them succeed
'Cause I know
That they can do it...

If they need a hand
I'll borrow them my arm
If they need a laugh
Then I'll happily play the clown
If they need to speak about something random
Then I'll listen, just carry on
If they can't fall asleep
Then I'll sing them a lullaby
I would do so many things
Just to show my friends
How much it is
That they means to me...
I just love my friends ^-^ <3

I tried strumming the strings of a broken guitar,
I tried rebuilding a city back up from its ruins,
I tried singing the words of a distant lullaby,
But had I known once a rose has tipped its head
Watering it would become useless;
I would've left our love's broken pieces
For the wind to come and sweep away.
Once it's broken, you can never truly get it back to how it was before.
