A peacock wanders in your thoughts
In such a curious form
It jumps and leaps or limps and struts
And goes not whence it's come
It seems at first as if it's whole
But then a closer look
Reveals that it's just half a fowl
Or half an ugly rook
On half a pair of legs it trips
Then half a fall it takes
Half a drop of blood then drips
And half a squawk it makes
Half a flight and half a heart
And half the thought of it
Serves to tear my mind apart
The thought of half it's meat
Or half the sleep it takes when half
The night had passed and then
I feel as if on it's behalf
I'd dream like half of men
The tides of nature push us forth
Toward affections shores
Past the storms that ****** mirth
And fill with fear our pores
And life's boat seems to seek to sink
And fall with ease beneath
The waves -it titters on the brink-
That cut like fearsome teeth
Half a pair of hands that rows
Must seek another half
A helping hand that feels and grows
Comforting with a laugh
Perhaps to safety both can sail
Perhaps to greener lands
The half might not when one half fails
Perhaps it understands.
I wished to make this half it's length
Or make this line it's half
The peacock turned whole when it learnt
To find it's better half
Half of me and half of you
Could make good poems and more
Our halves become more real and true
More worthy to adore.

I love you.
and here is the half ring
to honor our half engagement
here is the half birthday
that i half arrived at
here's half the money to give you a ride home
here's half the water bill
half this salad
half the bottle
half a fork
half a napkin to wipe off half your face
half the equation
half the notes on the passion
half the poetry cluttering the desk half the time spent looking
half the strings you need to play
and here's the cake to honor that half birthday
here's the half car
you half use to work half way

but what can i do with half a ring i cant put it on my finger, i cant have it to display
and whats the point of a half cake when my family is invited to dinner,
and a salad almost gone to be eaten with an only two prong fork
only one sided story doesn't make for much a tale and you could be poor and give more
ask willie, who roams 55th street, ask him about having nothing, but his name and he remembers it
some they forget, but he remembers what others forget and he's still living
and he hasn't quit.

"Do not love half lovers
Do not entertain half friends
Do not indulge in works of the half talented
Do not live half a life
and do not die a half death
If you choose silence, then be silent
When you speak, do so until you are finished
Do not silence yourself to say something
And do not speak to be silent
If you accept, then express it bluntly
Do not mask it
If you refuse then be clear about it
for an ambiguous refusal is but a weak acceptance
Do not accept half a solution
Do not believe half truths
Do not dream half a dream
Do not fantasize about half hopes
Half a drink will not quench your thirst
Half a meal will not satiate your hunger
Half the way will get you nowhere
Half an idea will bear you no results
Your other half is not the one you love
It is you in another time, yet in the same space
It is you when you are not
Half a life is a life you didn't live,
A word you have not said
A smile you postponed
A love you have not had
A friendship you did not know
To reach and not arrive
Work and not work
Attend only to be absent
What makes you a stranger to them closest to you,
and they strangers to you
The half is a mere moment of inability,
but you are able for you are not half a being.
You are a whole that exists to live a life,
not half a life."

--Khalil Gibran
Written by one of my favourite poets :) Which draws me to ask you this (as I did to myself) - How many of us are living life this half-heartedly?

Half living,
half dead
I hear voices
in my head

Half crazy,
half sane
Cryingly laughing
in vain

Half empty,
half full
Glass is broken
after all

Half super,
half not
Don't know
what I've got

Half glowing,
half dark
Keep on flashing
  that spark

Half satan,
half god
Half good
or half bad

Half yin,
half yang
Half old,
half young

Half nothing.
It
doesn't
make
any
sense
.

Half of me and half of you, a point of divergence for you
Half of me and half of you, a point of amalgamation to me
Half of me and half of you, a false pretence to you
Half of me and half of you, a make-believe fairytale to me
Half of me and half of you, a hefty disdain to you
Half of me and half of you, a wishful radiance to me
Half of me and half of you, a lousy freebee to you
Half of me and half of you, a subtle rush to me
Half of me and half of you, a blatant lie for you
Half of me and half of you, a beautiful lie to me

Wrote this when I was in love. Didn’t end well—but hey, at least it gave me this piece. They say the greatest tragedies spark the deepest inspirations.

Feeling what I feel is painful,
The confusion,
The pain
Always annoyed.
The future ... The future ...
Eco
I am the replication of myself.
Who pulls the strings? Stop!
Who controls the heads,the voices?
Am I the underground one or the other?
The one that range in silence, or the one that you hear?
One is mine. The other belongs to whom? Yours?
Is the half missing, your half?
My better half, yours?
Half me, half you?
Half?
Wait. What are you doing? Wait!
Half afraid to be half yours.
Half fear, half me. Half?
I'm always unbroken in what i do
How can i be divided?
Why should I bring my entire soul to be half?
I might as well be completely me than half yours, right?
What are you doing?
Wait.

Two men were walking down the road
They met up with Lou Who
He said "I've not seen you men before"
"Now, tell me who are you?"

We're half the Who
Said the two
Half a who? said Lou
Not half a who
Exclaimed the two
we're exactly half The Who

We are now two
And as the Who
We were a group of four
Lou explained  A who is one
So now as two
you  two are just one more

You two cannot  be half a who
Listen closer Lou they said
Listen to us now my son
As these words spin your head

Long ago the Who was four
Keith died, making three
John died leaving only us
There's only him and me
We're half The Who
Not half a Who
Surely that is clear
Lou just stood there dazzled
As if he didn't hear
A who is one
Of which we're not
That is clear to you
We once were four
But, now we're not
We're half of what we were
Lou told them that he understood
These two were not who's
Two strangers walking in our land
Now, that is really news
But, gentlemen can you tell me
Exactly Who Are You?
Tell me sirs, where are you from?
And what exactly do you do?
We're all that's left
We're half the Who
We're singers in a band
We sing rock and roll music
We travel 'round the land
Let me see now said Lou Who
You're  half the Who now....yes?
No, Lou that's another band
This really is a mess
Confused, Lou said "I'm lost now"
Other bands and half a Who
Just answer my first question
Exactly who are you?
Lou, we're gonna say this once
We won't say it anymore
We're half of what was once The Who
We're now two,
we once were four
It' really very simple
Two died, and that leaves us
We have an opera that's called "Tommy"
And a song called Magic Bus
Lou said "I'm just a simple who"
My mind is all a buzz
I'm thinking now of half a who
And what a rock band does
A band of rocks
Poor Lou now moans
That makes no sense to me
If people come to see these stones
Just what do people see?
The Stones, are someone else Lou
They sing just like we do
But, they're another rock band
And we're still half The Who
Half of one and not of all
you're part of what was four
I'll take my leave of you dear sirs
And hope to see you nevermore
