There is a spark,
in your soul,
that so many
underestimate.
They seemingly
keep forgetting
about this little thing
that we all call air.
That with a little huff
and a little puff
from those soft lips,
you could turn
this entire world
into a living,
breathing,
blazing fire.
An inferno,
made entirely
out of your beautiful
and glorious love,
you have
for yourself
and others.
Therefor,
their words,
can't ever touch you.
I believe that's why,
when they try,
you just smile and say,
"Have a beautiful day."

What saddens me horribly,
is that we spend too much time tangling ourselves up in our own insecurities.
Looping it around our throats and strangling our souls.
Maybe we need to start carrying around a mental knife...
Start cutting ourselves free before it’s too late.
The slow and painful process of watching a beautiful persons heart deflate from the negative needles that they turn on themselves, is becoming too common and too difficult to see.
Please, know that you're loved,
that you're unique,
that you're beautiful and smart.
Know that you're worthy of kindness.
Especially from yourself.

-Sincerely, A Stranger
Please, love yourself and treat people kindly. You never know if the person you're speaking to is silently breaking before you. An encouraging smile, a soft word, a gentle hand, a listening ear... We can all give something. And often, more times out of not, it's the small time that you've set aside for someone that can change a heart, even for just a moment. If you can make someone feel like they're worth something, do it. Love others, love yourself.

Over time, our foundation cracks.
And yet, we still keep going.
With dents and splinters and broken pieces.
We keep living and breathing and smiling.
And that, dear reader, is a beautiful miracle that so many miss.
That despite our ragged edges, we're still here.
We look for miracles in impossible things. The blind seeing. The paralyzed walking... But sometimes miracles are those small things we take for granted. It's waking up another day. Breathing another breath. Smiling when your heart thought it never would again. It's hearing that song you hadn't heard in forever and feeling like you're, once again, home. It's living when you thought you forgot how to. Those are miracles, those are the things that change the world.
Why? Because change starts when we do things, and we do things when we feel most alive.

If you were a beautiful,
soft sunrise,
with glowing rays of light,
*than I was always the sharp,
deep sunset,
just before darkness fell on the earth.
I was going through some of my past writings.
Just random chapters I'd written from books that were never finished,
and found this little piece jammed into one of them. :)

The sky is a perfect description
of my very soul.
The clear blue sky resembles my eyes
those moments when I feel whole.
It's delicate rains are my salty tears
dripping down my chin.
And the fluffy clouds are the shadows
I keep hidden behind my dimpled grin.
Sometime you can't predict my weather,
and the storms can be a bit too much.
But what is rain if not to show,
the world that it still needs my touch?
You are still important, even if some don't see.

My sisters have witchy feet.
Their words, not mine.
If someone else puts them down
I firmly draw the line.
When they are laughing,
Just because they are together,
The joy I hear from them
Seems to change the weather.

It might be chilly or gray
But today the clouds evaporate.
Inside it’s all warm and cozy,
And I do not exaggerate.
They manage to find something
That they can all laugh about
Even when that laughter rises
To the level of three sided shouts.

It usually starts when one dances
And turns it into a wiggle.
Then all three of them break out
In wild, uncontrollable giggles.
Or a memory will get triggered
Of something outrageous
And the laughter takes over.
It is immediately contagious.

I am always rewarded by this
Circus of the instantly absurd
That turns into the best of all
Sounds I have ever heard.
May I wish all of you have
What has happened to me;
To have such close members
Of our often silly family.

I'm not looking for a prince charming.
But a man who has callused hands,
a gentle heart,
and a forest fire that's raging in his soul?
He, I wouldn't mind standing beside.
Someone to provide for me, guide me, and stand beside me.
