I was on vacation heading for the West Coast
It was the Bay City
A 4 days journey and no one is going to have pity
I was on a direct route being a thru-Coach from New York City to San Francisco, CA
But I am travelling on a Greyhound bus
Everything was going smoothly
Not until
The trip started with upcoming event with an Expectant Mother and Father to be who boarded in Omaha, NE
Well the announcement for my departure from Omaha for passengers to claim their seats
It was a highway ride through the darkened night
But me and the passengers don’t know, we are about to have a plight
Look at that, we arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah
We certainly travelled far
As too be expected, the Pregnant Woman travelling was having a few labor pains
But according to the schedule, we pushed on
We just crossed the Nevada State Line
But keep Baby arrival in mind
We made a brief rest stop, but the baby is ready to see the world
We the passengers noticed the Greyhound Driver counting her contractions
What luck, we were near a Major Hospital, and they were alerted, and the expectant Mother and Father to be got off as the Hospital staff carried the Pregnant Mother on a Stretcher off the bus
Meanwhile, the Driver announced what became a 30 minute stop was a two hour stop
Timing was everything at that point
Driver told us to sit back as he was going to make up time on the road that we loss
Somehow we arrived ahead of schedule on Greyhound into San Francisco, CA
Journey of course, but for the expectancy that is another story.

Who would have thought?
June 21, 2017 was the date
I achieved my 35th Work Anniversary at Macy’s Corporate
I never had any idea that would survive
But it was a matter of grace being the strive
My exposure spans Administration to Technology
My Grandfather was right always become a commodity
It turned out to be a reality
I guess it was in the plan to achieve
The golden years I did receive
However, the Lord gets credit over and more
This is something that just couldn’t be ignored
Macy’s past slogan, “We are a part of your life”
That slogan has become my preserving advice
Achieve beyond
Yet accomplish more
That is my encouragement to others
It is also my message to young people
Strive to be the best
Let no take you for granted in labeling you less
If I can do it, so can anybody else
I am the example you can achieve it if you do it right
There were times of darkness of uncertainty, but I came through with a guiding light
I have been asked, “When do I plan to retire”?
Well is tomorrow too soon
I am not at retirement age
Too many people that would be an amaze
I am not at retirement yet
But that does come with a regret
But my work is far from done with blessings that I will continue being among.

My job performance review that was given to me
I was already informed ahead of time from thee
My Grandfather came in a dream with a message for me
This is the time to move on
You have been on that job far too long
You need a job that gives you respect and where you belong
So for 32 years I got a .59 cent raise
Yet I wasn’t amazed
There was contradiction good and bad in how I performed
However, my Department Manager only had been in the company one year, so he didn’t really understand the norm
The whole time I was remembering my Grandfather’s advice
Now I am ready to move on and not think twice
Move forward and not look back
Think excellence, but use tack
Thee is on my side, and with the combination, I shall stride.

Yet Race was about interacting with other Races and moving about
A time for justice being about time
We will use whatever resources combined
Fight we will, and win we shall
It didn’t matter Bloodshed or Death
Justice was coming no matter what
Marches all throughout the South
Town after Town with names called out beyond their own
Segregation being a term that was considered ok
But this America is about being free, and this was decreed from thee
The Freedom Riders with determined to fight and Greyhound Bus Lines was the one that opened the light
Marches and voices
Chanting Freedom, “We shall Overcome”
Air waves were spread into big waves being shore to shore
Afro-Americans were told they must stay in their place
The thought being from the opposition
But Afro-Americans knew they must position
Education was the number one tool
Having knowledge doesn’t make you a fool
It just makes opposition drool
Freedom did come, and Race was a combination in coming together
Smithsonian NMAMHC being a way of helping all Americans to see Freedom as a right
Smithsonian shed some light
Cause with effect
A purpose not being an elect
I am a Black who seen and conquered
Wonder no more
Just continue to educate and explore.

Nonstop with no intermediate stops to Heaven
A Soulful ride in the rejoicing stride

An express bus wouldn’t have that affect
Heaven has no elect
Yet knowing your Soul is all fired up

People are living with not believing in Faith on this Earth soil\
How many people do you think don’t have Faith?
Too many to count huh
You would be counting into everlasting
Faith is a matter in having hope in believing
The blessings come when Faith is for you in receiving
But doubt seems to overshadow keeping people from reaching Faith altogether
Whether or not one believes in Faith, doubt only becomes temporary where Faith will take over
If you want hope, one must be open to believe
In order to overcome any struggle, one must believe there is assurance in overcoming
There is False Hope
This is where one thinks they can’t cope
But it is Faith that helps you cope and gives you hope
True Faith is moving through a storm and knowing you won’t be harmed
That is true Faith with the full garment of assurance

Somehow I will have to back track
I am God’s human creature that shouldn’t settle for that
But I must find how I will get back
Fallen from grace, but only for the moment
I will eventually return to Heaven’s voice
But a lot of praying and forgiveness being my choice
Fallen, but I need to stand up
From, one on one redemption
Grace, God never left me
I need my Faith to be responsive and secure
God being the almighty, and having the spiritual cure
