Shelter

Let us hunker down...

Let's submit to each other's embrace,
and may our arms form
our very own private sanctuary.

Let us be shielded
from the debris and shrapnel
of malicious intent.

Let our fingers be free
to wipe the dirt and tears
from each other's eyes.

Let us be afraid together,
for in this cocoon,
there may yet be some mettle.

Let us still be sheltered...
For the storm is not yet over.

Tender Unrest

The night was young.
The moon had traversed,
but only a minuscule fraction of the sky.

Between the stars was quiet...
And the breeze gentle.
Waves weren't angry
and they caressed the shore
with unspoken affection.

Ripples in the water took their time
riding the surface -
harnessing, carrying each piece of the moon.
Whispering to each other in a silent pact.
With plans to spread the shards of silver
as far as they could;
before gifting it to the next batch of carriers.

If the moon exploded into a million tiny pieces,
that was what it would look like -
confetti of silver and white
strewn over a large black cloth
that's gently flailing in the wind.

A spectacle of unwavering continuity...
Beauty and grandeur in such
tender unrest...
When my baby's web of whispers
screams I love you in my ear
  it echoes through my cranium
                       sending messages ear to ear.

My synapse snapping
       and gravity collapsing,
    a host to the sensual,
         multi-dimensional...
                 no such word as fear.

                    It really slays me
                       when I see it disappear.

When we make love my ego burns in effigy
sending naked stars to fall, it's a natural born lovers ball.

Candles kissing the air, flickering flames of release, total ecstasy,
it's not just *** to me,                    a forgiving rush of peace.
I stand in wait, waiting for your call,
oh will this feeling never cease....

No four-way flashing, not only fore-play happening
no yield sign to stop me now.
Like a gold mine, she'll be tappin' me.
Yes,     right in the kisser,     POW!

My baby is drama free... if anyone creates confusion,
               well that would be me.

Everything is oh so fine,
yes, I'm hers and she's mine.
                          It is one slippery shift
                                  on into the sublime.

That is the way I want it,
not exactly everyone's cup of tea,
still, she brings it on just for me.
I open the pantry door
And stare blankly
My arms start waving
Fingers pointing

Out of the corner
Of my eye
I notice my wife

I break into
Tai Chi moves
To make it look
Less like a man
Who has
Temporarily
Lost his way

how dare you not have mint chocolate chip available on my birthday, do you know how many years i and my mother
wait
to have the mint chocolate chip ice cream of our life? answer me, baskin robbins

although i know her eating such sweet flavor is only a figment
i can't wish on my birthday candle
the only birthday candle i got
was from a sushi joint
mother, i didn't get a single present
not even now, not even tomorrow
i'm going to
the future with my boyfriend
he's called dean, also god, also gpa

all i want is to die
my boyfriend's real name is diploma
i wonder
if i'd ever want to date a boy
all i want is to die

answer me, baskin robbins
do you also want me to die? you've known me
for all my life
i don't remember
i don't remember
the joy of being born
mother, did i laugh when i escaped your womb? did i even smile?
you must've been aware of that
right
i want to go to a baskin robbins outlet where they have mint chocolate chip
But it isn't my birthday anymore

No two minds
Think exactly alike,
Our perceptions
Are always going to be different,

We see the world
Through our own eyes,
The outcome of our experiences
Choose what is significant.

No two hearts weigh the same,
Our pasts make all of the difference,

Whether we are light-hearted
Or heavy-hearted,
Being whole-hearted,
Rather than being broken-hearted,
Is always going to be our first preference.
