Goodbyes
Mitch Prax Oct 2021
I was never good
at saying goodbye.
Sometimes, things are better left unsaid,
but overall, I think goodbyes are
preferable to the silence.
Goodbyes can hurt,
but they can also bring closure.
So, while goodbyes are not my strong suit,
they are often necessary
to avoid a lifetime of
uncertainty.

or an endless field of lavender,
I would choose your smile

We are all
children of the sun,
but you outshine

Daughter of the sun,
share with us your light
and lead us out of darkness.
Daughter of the sun,
shower us with warmth-
this place is cold without you.

is that no one wants to steal it away.

is in such abundance that

Diary Excerpts #24
Mitch Prax Apr 2020
Dear diary;
I moved house today
but I'm afraid my demons
followed me to the door.
Tonight,
the twilight seeps through the window,
the highway never sleeps and
the demons make their bed.
I am wide awake
again.

Of all that I know,
of all that I have seen,
you are the only thing that shines

Nothing is as pure as you

there is still hope.

Why can’t I just
let it go?
Why can’t I just

Just know that I lived life to

So if I meet my end

think of it more as a
mere inconvenience
rather than a tragedy.
I have lived a hundred lives,
been on a thousand journeys,
so just be sure to wish me a
safe and thrilling journey
