Love Is Spoken Here
Louis Brown Jan 2012
The spoken language is not always clear
So just to make our points right here
We've learned to hush our lips
And talk with fingertips
Love is spoken here

Our body language is our text
Heading for what's coming next
Mutual admiration
Close communication
Love is spoken here

And the bruises of the day are swiftly healing
Nothing comes between us but good feelings
Shadows touch and lips combine
We leave the grinding day behind
Love is spoken here

It works out great we both agree
To stop the words for our recipe
When shadows blend with night
We always get it right
Our meanings come across to you and me

And the bruises of the day are swiftly healing
Nothing comes between us but good feelings
Shadows touch and lips combine
We leave the grinding day behind
Love is spoken here

This Rose Won't Ramble
Louis Brown Dec 2011
I get all anxious
When she walks thru the door
If she were my woman
I couldn't want more
If I got to touch her
These hands would just shake
I'd buy her flowers
But it's a little too late

She's a rose from
Someone else's garden
She won't ramble
Though my emotions teem
She's a rose from
Someone else's garden
My chance to love her
Is only in my dreams

Her lips look as soft
As rose petals of red
I'd love to kiss her
But I stare straight ahead
I wonder if she feels
The same wild desire
But I don't want to know
Cause it might start a fire

She's a rose from
Someone else's garden
She won't ramble
Though my emotions teem
She's a rose from
Someone else's garden
My chance to love her
Is only in my dreams
Louis Brown Dec 2011
She put too much sugar in my coffee

She knows **** well I do not care for cream

On our Anniversary she went out with the girls

She didn't even wear her wedding ring

She gave me a luggage set for Christmas

And a brochure of some towns in Mexico

She bought me a ticket on a bus to Tijuana

Just her way of saying Adios

She found another way to say goodbye

She's wearing sweet perfume I didn't buy

She wrecked my little red pick up truck

So she could watch this grown man cry

She found another way to say goodbye

She took the bed and sent me to the sofa

Said, "You sound like a saw mill when you snore"

She put my sports page on the bottom of the bird's cage

Before I got to read the latest score.....

I'm Out of Love Again
Louis Brown Dec 2011
Tonight

I'm out of love again

Back out in the cold

With that familiar icy wind

Summer days are memories

And winter just stormed in

And tonight

I'm out of love again...

The Heart Knows The Way
Louis Brown Dec 2011
I always was right
When we had a big fuss
We had strong opinions
It was my way or bust
We made our decisions
Off base from the start
Now short of an answer
We go to the heart

It's always the heart
That's the place to begin
There's honesty there
From beginning to end
It tells me quite clearly
The right words to say
When clouds come between us
The heart knows the way

There's need for each other
So it helps to agree
It all works out better
As good wisdom leads me
If I get too selfish
It's myself  I betray
Lord, help me remember
The heart knows the way

I never went to bed
with a real ugly woman

It's just the proud man deep in me

Close as I came--
one had her teeth stained

But her heart was as pure as could be

I never went to bed
with a real ugly woman

It's just something I never would do

If I passed out from gin
does it count at the end

If I did, er, wake up with a few.....

This Could Take Forever
Louis Brown Dec 2011
I felt it when I kissed you
Like lightning struck the air
Thunder rolled inside our hearts
At our introduction there
And passion was a wildfire
Everywhere you touched my skin
My heart skipped so many beats
A thousand dreams rushed in

And this could take forever
I can feel it
The farther into you
The more I need it
I discover some new side of you
Each night that we're together
Oh Baby, Baby
This could take forever

You bring love on many levels
How much is there to know
I'm peeling past the layers
Learning secrets as I go
There's beauty on the outside
And as I believe it's true
There's goodness and a lust for life
Everywhere inside of you....

Alien Birthplace
Louis Brown Dec 2011
The neighborhood is gone

Familiar faces

Nowhere to be seen

Portland cement hides

The dusty street below

Progress left its scars

Razed our shotgunhouse

And poured an interstate

The corner gang no more

So precious few

Can be accounted for

They are the ones

Who lie so still and cold

Beneath incongruous slabs of stones

With names of bare foot friends

I used to know

That woman packed my suitcase
She threw it out the door
She told me it was over
Don't come here anymore
And when you get rejected
It's a black-eye on your pride
You can still look like a winner
Don't let it cramp your style

So I did not let the world
See me wallow in defeat
I found myself a big brass band
Parading down the street
I stepped to that big drumbeat
Footloose fancy free
I got out front and showed the world
The finest side of me

THEY THOUGHT THAT I WAS
                LEADING THE PARADE
I MARCHED OFF IN THE SUNSHINE
LIKE I SURE DID HAVE IT MADE
I SURE DID HATE TO GO
SO I PUT ON A HELLUVA SHOW...
THEY THOUGHT THAT I WAS
                LEADING THE PARADE

Just one little battle
Was all I really lost
I picked myself back up again
Just like my Daddy taught
I talked to me and told me
"That old sun's still in the sky"
And I boogied to the rhythm
With my colors flying high

Good Morning Mister Moon
Louis Brown Dec 2011
Good morning, Mister Moon, I guess you never sleep
It's 4 a.m. and I'm still counting sheep
I want you on my side to bring her to my place
Without her smile, your moonlight's such a waste

In your gentle light her warm lips feel so right
A little moondust could make these prospects bright
She takes my breath when I see her come in sight
So send your beams and warm her heart tonight

Please Mister Moon, my easy going friend
I pray you'll help me reach her heart again
I crave her touch in your warm moonlight glow
She stirs the strongest feeling life can know

You've always done such magic things before
So turn the tide and make her mine once more
I'll pull her close behind that cloudy draw
I swear I'll love her by the highest law

Is This The World You Meant
Louis Brown Dec 2011
You prepared the killing grounds
At the first creation
You put the hate and greed
In hearts that rot our nation
You made us love to quarrel
And that has dammed our souls
And it denies our peace
It costs us heavy tolls

You could have built the peace
Far far beyond the garden
But You let evil reign
And allowed men's hearts to harden
They say you  saw the future
Where Abel died in vain
You could have took the knife
But left it up to Cain

You allowed the seeds of darkness
And let it bloom inside him
Man never had a prayer
You made and sacrificed him!
Why did You build such chaos
Allow the senseless sinning
A wiser God would change the course
Go back to the beginning

Have a different ending

Osama
Louis Brown Nov 2011
Osama liked his days of glory
Until the Seals made it gory
But there's no grieving this barbarian
He slew so many innocents
He deserved his fast descent
The world is richer far without the man

He died a bullet in his head
Some celebrate his being dead
Except for those who wished he'd felt more pain
Some would have pulled his toenalls, all
And shot him thrice between the *****
Then pulled his teeth not using novocaine

We chased him for the last decade
And finally his bill is paid
We all feel blessed his murdering is through
They threw his carcass in the sea
No angel welcome, c'est la vie
To Satan's antichrist, to Hell with you

Thus reads the story of Osama
Who should have listened to his Mama
But went about destroying the peace
They vowed to catch the shifty ****
The man GW fumbled on
But Obama sent him down to meet the Beast

Wisdom From Your Heart
Louis Brown Nov 2011
When I don’t have the answer
to a problem in my path
and I want to help my neighbor
show some love on his behalf
I’ll find words of wisdom
and an answer with some art
'make sure my intuition
comes directly from my heart

For it’s shaky ground to walk on
if no guidebook’s written yet
when words are loosely spoken
there’s reactions to be met
and I'll need a wise solution
with the words that I impart
for words are more enlightened
if it’s wisdom from my heart

So I'd say it's more than muscle
that sends life thru every vein
it's the ***** I believe
where your better angel reigns
it’s the station that He tunes to;
there’s no equal counterpart
and you’ll know you’re on His wave length
when His wisdom fills your heart

Her smile can break

A lot of hearts

She's left a lot of hurting

But that hourglass

And that pretty as....er angel

She's already glad

You're flirting

If it won't last long

It's all okay

You can find another pasture

But for that much gain

It's worth some pain

So go ahead and ask her

Cause a perfect ten

In the eyes of men

Makes a sweet night to remember

And you can hope

She'll hit high notes

With such a pleasant timbre

That, that whole scene

Arranged perfectly

Will be a memory for the ages

Or with a microphone

You could make a song

To climb high on Billboard's pages

Lyrics for Bianca
Louis Brown Oct 2011
There's a woman in my arms
As close as skin can get
I want to fall in love again
I'm still not ready yet
Your  shadow slips between us
Like every other time
And as cold chills cool the passion
Her love can't cross the line

My arms are full of memories of you
I pull the shades and lock the doors
But yesterday comes through
As I hold her in the dark
I still hold you in my heart
My arms are full of memories of you

I found her at an upscale dance
She's all woman to the bone
But I slipped and cried your name again
And I knew the night was gone
She slipped right through my fingers
Cause her pride can't play that role
She wants all of me or nothing
But it's not in her control

Whistling By The Tombstones
Louis Brown Sep 2011
As a boy I whistled in the dark
Walking by those tall tombstones
When I'd glance at that old graveyard
Frigid air would freeze my bones
As a man I've never been that scared
Till I saw your closet bare
I felt like that boy at midnight
Seeking courage with a prayer

I'm whistling by the tombstones again
Since I hurt you and you left me
I can feel that icy wind
I'll never make it through
Tomorrows without you
I'm whistling by the tombstones again

In my mind I miss your pretty face
And my backbone feels a chill
I tremble like that lonesome boy
Passing cemetery hill
If you don't come back it's darker
Than those graveyard fantasies
Cause it's just a grim tomorrow
Unless your dreams including me

So please don't say that little fuss
Could end our fairytale
All my life I'd be whistling down
Life's long long lonesome trail

I'm whistling by the tombstones again
Since I hurt you and you left me
I can feel that icy wind
I'll never make it through
Tomorrows without you
I'm whistling by the tombstones again

SWEETWATER
Louis Brown Sep 2011
They baptized all us children
At that old country church
They saved this wild young crazy man
From going bad to worse
That old preacher took my hand there
And he walked me to the creek
When he dipped me in the water
He knew who I would meet...

I'LL ALWAYS LOVE
OLD SWEETWATER CHURCH
THEY TAUGHT ME I SHOULD LOVE THE LORD
AND PUT MY NEIGHBOR FIRST
IF YOU EVER DRINK THE WATER
IT SURE WILL EASE YOUR THIRST
I'LL ALWAYS LOVE
OLD SWEETWATER CHURCH

When we sung Amazing Grace
We sung it from the heart
The words from that old preacher man
They always hit their mark
We could feel that spirit move us
Up there on our front row seat
That good old time religion lives
In that chapel by the creek

CHORUS

Bridge:
Now sometimes when I wander
Too far from the truth
I look back and remember
The lessons of my youth.....

CHORUS

Louis Brown Sep 2011
How can You criticize the beast
You made with Your two hands
And fault him for his foibles
When he disrupts Your plans
He can't escape his draw backs
His skills and mind are weak
Before he bit the apple
He could have used a tweak
He only feeds the hungers
You programmed in his brain
He has two strikes against him
It's almost inhumane
We're dumb to **** each other
But You sowed every seed
So take him back into Your shop
Perfect him to succeed
You can't expect that much
From nothing but a dunce
If You can see the future
Please get it right for once

let mankind know

i must require
that you fulfill
one vanity
that i may know
you seek me out

It's funny feeling lonesome here beside you
Side by side where we've loved so many times
It's hard to understand
Has love played out its hand.....
Goodbye is written softly in your eyes

Remember the night we shared our first warm kisses
I thought I heard forever in your sighs
All this time by your side
I didn't notice when it died....
Goodbye is written softly in your eyes

While I told my friends that you were meant for me
I was less than you thought obviously
And it breaks my heart to see you start
          To search each stranger's smile.....
Goodbye is written softly in your eyes

But that's just you--I know you hate to hurt me
You'd rather tell another gentle lie
You think it's still your secret
Oh baby, you can't keep it.....
Goodbye is written softly in your eyes

I like a bowl of collards
You like brussel sprouts
You have a taste for cognac

You went to that big college
I flunked the seventh grade
We ain't got much in common
Till we pull down the shades

CHORUS:
THE ATTRACTION OVERCOMES THE WALLS BETWEEN US
TO UNDERSTAND OUR BOND WON'T TAKE A GENIUS
OUR LIVES ARE CONTRADICTIONS
BUT THE FUN OUTWEIGHS THE FRICTION
THE ATTRACTION OVERCOMES THE WALLS BETWEEN US

In our healthy love-hate thang
Sometimes hell breaks loose
But when the big moon rises
We wave a flag of truce
Our fussing's just a pastime
Between the mountain peaks
But by evening time we  tangle
And the making up is sweet

CHORUS

BRIDGE:  It's natural to differ

We meet right in the middle
When it's time to build a bridge

CHORUS
Louis Brown Aug 2011
They come meekly, humbly
To build their New York mosque
In peace and feigned love
And then in time they change
And when their power is grown
They tell you they are real
The true church of the world
And those who will not join
Are lowly infidels
An insult to their god
Without a right to live
Their armies come
Just like in centuries past
And cut off heads
Of non-believers
Do we want them here
In free America
To mutilate our girls
And make them less than dogs
They made a killing ground
One day on 9/11
When Islam spawned hatred
Blew our towers to dust
And Americans splattered pavement
Oh how they danced with glee
From Karachi to Tehran
In time they dream to dominate
From Maine to Key West
From Georgia to L.A.
With hate filled ancient laws
The code of Sharia
Shoved in our passive faces
Well, as for me
They can shove it up
Their camel sweaty *****
I say go to hell
You ignorant aberrations
But don't come here
We need no more of you
You murdering *******

Life is not a hammock

Between two palm trees

It's not a sweet mint julep

To sip on in the breeze

It's more Mount Everest

A steep or steeper climb

It asks a lot of you

But it's a chance to shine

Sorry, no fat plum

Will tumble in your palm

I hope that deadly truth

Will rouse no great alarm

If you thought life a picnic

It's a good assumption

You need a bigger pair

More substance and more gumption

Man moves real mountains
Conquers deep oceans
Explores new infections
While probing the  stars
With God in his spirit
He tackles the mysteries
For answers beyond us
It never occurs
To doubt His Great Maker
Who opens new trails
To far away worlds
Out far past forever
And then turning inward
As worlds microscopic
Shrink smaller and smaller
Finding new questions
The farther he goes
It seems not to end
In stars or in atoms
Amazed that forever
Keeps going both ways

I Stood Up Your Memory
Louis Brown Apr 2011
Your memory thought I’d be
Right there waiting
Same time, same place
One more time
But when you came
From yesterday
To find me
I stood up
Your memory so fine
          There’s a lady
          Lying close
          Here beside me
          For once, she’s all
          That’s on my mind
          My thoughts don’t hang on
The curves that you threw me
          I stood up
         Your memory this time
She brings up old feelings
I’d forgotten
Shadows fade easy
In her smile
She’s showing me
The way to the morning
Oh, it’s been such a long, long while
          It’s the very first time
          That I ever knew
          I’m gonna make it
          Without you…..
I’m giving your memory
Some notice
From now on
There’s no need
Coming by
At midnight a sweet dream
Filled in for you
I stood up
Your memory tonight

In the evening rush
Where frowns go past
I saw her smile
Eclipsed too fast
I turned around
And looked once more
I couldn't see
That warm rapport
So every day
I search that block
And pray she'll pass
At five o'clock
Those bright warm eyes
That rattled me
Have raised high hopes
So suddenly
A fire was lit
As my heart skips
Imagining
Her pretty lips
I long to see
Her cheeks turn pink
I sense she'll feel
The thoughts I think
I'll hunt her down
If that I must

God’s Son identified with men

And God watched from above Him

He healed the sick and broke the law

And men would come to love Him

But law men stressed  He’d have to die

In mankind’s cruelest way

Rome was good with Cross techniques

And death would have its day

The spikes were long to hold Him high

Acute the agony

Not once he begged for mercy

Till God would set us free

Since then He’s died a trillion times

I’ve read that UFO’s ride the skyways
Looking for a friendly atmosphere
But the way we treat our neighbors
The way we rattle sabres
It’s hard to find intelligent life down here

The space explorers see the humans racing
To see whose bomb can make who disappear
And the visitors must say
War seems to be their way
It’s hard to find intelligent life down here

COMPASSION’S NOT THE VALUE THEY REVERE
THE SMOKE OF WAR'S TOO COMMON ON THIS SPHERE
THE GOLDEN RULE'S OMITTED
IT’S SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
IT’S HARD TO FIND INTELLIGENT LIFE DOWN HERE

They seldom reach a plane for compromising
They don’t trust each other much I fear
And when strangers pass this way
They see morals in decay
It’s hard to find intelligent life down here..

I hope they'll love there brother
Before bombs blow up each other

The nature of people

Inside the church door

And far from the steeple

But I've never seen

A heart with less guile

Her intentions within

Are warm as  her smile

It's pure honesty

That resides in her soul

As true innate goodness

Has final control

Where watching is awesome

She'll give, give and give

His relationship with girls was somewhat awful
He'd used less than brilliance in that world
So he searched the internet for wisdom he could get
To get some ***** kisses from the girls

Folks told him Google had a lot of answers
And he learned a lot by reading Romeo
And since he studied Hindu, they like what he is into
He's popular with all the girls he knows

IT JUST TOOK SOME GOOGLE’S LOVE ADVICE
NOW IN HIS ARMS THEY WANT HIS LOVING THRICE
AND OLE GOOGLE TAUGHT HIM PLOYS
PUTTING SHAME TO ALL THE BOYS
IT JUST TOOK SOME GOOGLE’S LOVE ADVICE

He found they wanted more than pretty roses
And though some sweet perfume may change their mood
The **** tips He googled means overtures by the oodles
The girls all want a piece of this young dude

So now his black book's full of pretty girls
And they call him well before he starts his day
Every time he learns new angles they love to get entangled
Learning those love lessons from Bombay.

Louis Brown Feb 2011
They all start looking good

At one a.m.

A mystical transformation

Alters them

At eight o’clock it seemed

A scene like Halloween

Now behold the angels

The chorus girls

And living dreams

Much like a beauty pageant

Each with her diadem

They all start looking good

At one a.m.

We Loved in Johnson Pasture
Louis Brown Feb 2011
In my mind I recall Johnson Pasture
It's etched a warm memory
On that blanket we'd listen to songbirds
Beneath the Magnolia Tree

You’re not here when I wake to the present
Long ago someone stole you away
But you’ll run down the hill through the flowers
In my dreams for the rest of my days

Love was sweet by that stream in the pasture
Tender  lips came alive merged with mine
And I got so entangled forever
Two hearts became one of a kind

Our sweet rendezvous, now it's only for parking
On a mall where no blooms are a part
While old pavement from Portland hides Johnson Pasture
It's alive and still real in my heart

I looked around me

For a noble man

Someone who could lead

A man a child could trust

Some man who never cheated

A man not owned by money

Some man who wouldn't lie

A man a child would trust

Some man that loves his God

Well he was hard to find

I looked at all the presidents

In the past United States

I evaluated judges and lawyers

I checked out sailors, doctors and  farmers

Just for one honest man

But none of them met the criteria

Until I remembered

Perhaps there is one

Just maybe…just maybe…

Barrack Obama

There is a hate spouter named Rush
His brain spews great piles of horse mush
He thinks that Sarah
Is the first female savior
But we know that Palin's a bust

She lost the race in the last one
They’ll lose warming over this past one
We poo on her chatter
She’s short on gray matter
And Limbaugh must truly have none

His whole diatribe is a crock
But He thinks his candidate’s hot
As we know she’s copeless
And far beyond hopeless
And that’s why we owe Limbaugh a lot

So when you bed down on this night
Thank God that Rush Limbaugh ain’t bright
We’ll smile to remember
When cometh November
If right wingers followed his flight

A Dark Windy Serenade
Louis Brown Jan 2011
The wind plays a music that swells my despair

Paints darker the setting of my lonely lair

Where I would recover from dreams kicked aside

My  eerie tormentor  comes back like the tide

Whistling and keening from high pitch to soft

Stirring the pigeons awake in the loft

Screeching  a branch on my window of stars

Playing the drainpipe in monotone bars

Resting and racing then altering course

“I saw your loved one” says its haunting voice

Routing the season of flowers and sun

Clearing the path for a desolate one

The Right Decision
Louis Brown Jan 2011
Pride tells me
I don't have to knock
Upon your door again
'Don't have to compromise
And let you win
It won't be hard
To learn to love again

But love tells me
No other's laughter
Takes my cares away
Like a miracle
Your magic makes me stay
Without you Girl
How could I find my way

Truth tells me
No man is an island
Unto himself
I'm lucky I found one
Who takes my breath
One who makes me
Bigger than myself......
