My Favorite People Are Women
Louis Brown Jan 2011
My favorite people are women
Right from the very beginning
Let the boss kick your tail
Let the stockmarket fail
In her arms you will know you are winning

Some come with the loveliest chassis
They like to put fog on your glasses
Pursue till you catch one
Persistance will fetch one
Who'll love to receive your cool passes

MY FAVORITE PEOPLE ARE WOMEN
THEY LOVE COWBOYS AND LAWYERS AND ******
THEY GIVE THEIR LAST CRUMB
MY MOTHER WAS ONE
MY FAVORITE PEOPLE ARE WOMEN

She has the same notion as you son
She's not a big teaser to out run
Commit a wee bit of chasing
Then it's time for embracing
Your libido is due for some fun

As you've kept your nose to the grindstone
Receiving great love from a fine one
If you're worn to deep slumber
You can take down her number
There's always another night, Son

The Old Magnolia Tree
Louis Brown Jan 2011
Beneath the old magnolia tree
I used to hold you close to me
And there I carved upon that tree
That I loved you and you loved me

Beneath the white magnolia blooms
You cast a spell with your perfume
I believed those wooden words were true
Ingrained in hearts of me and you

But time wears out what boys engrave
Nothing's left of the love you gave
Except that old magnolia scar....
I wish our love had come so far

Yeah, I wish those words were still on track
Cause every spring I dream me back
To tender lips and sweet perfume
Beneath the white magnolia blooms

But time wears out what boys engrave
Nothing's left of the love you gave
Except that old magnolia tree
Reminding me.....reminding me......

The Memory-G0-Round
Louis Brown Jan 2011
too often I go

to the fair long ago

where there’s laughter

and teardrops with music

the bright colored horses

ride circles

the calliope plays

where I blew it

where we rode together

and I look back forever

with memories of lips

sweet and soft

and a dreamer

still hates to get off….

I WANNA DREAM THIS DREAM
Louis Brown Jan 2011
I've prayed high to the heavens
For you to come along
Now I've awakened in this dream
Where nothing's feeling wrong
So let your loving lips
Keep doing what they do
And we're gonna be so high
Stars surround me and you

It's warmer then the sunshine
Inside your close embrace
As I close your eyes with kisses
I see all the worlds in space
If Jupiter moons have oceans
We'll warm some chilly beach
Then take a spin by Venus
As the need between us meets

I WANNA DREAM THIS DREAM WITH YOU
WHERE I'LL HOLD YOU ALL NIGHT THROUGH
FIND ALL THE  LOVE IN STORE
WHERE NONE HAVE GONE BEFORE
A PERFECT FANTASY FOR TWO
I WANNA DREAM THIS DREAM WITH YOU

We'll have to visit Mars'
Two yellow satellites
'Make romance in that moonglow
Where two moons shine so bright
We'll dance on Saturn rings
Let our slow dance melt the cold
I'll hold your celestial body
Let our chimera unfold.....

A Lost Poet Again
Louis Brown Jan 2011
The poet in me
Can disappear
I’m a combo short
Without his ear
A pretender’s left
And here comes panic
Without my Muse
I get quite frantic
And chaos crowds
The remaining source
Where I’m a knight
Without a horse
A wordsmith here
Unqualified
To pick my brain
Just pushed aside
Robotic words
Will cross my page
The day grows dark
On life’s old stage
Longfellow looks down
Laughter booming
At the tripe I write
So non consuming
My ego falls
My pride goes limp
And one hung low
Is no Chinese ****
So I send prayers
From my antenna
To reach my Muse
My lost breadwinner
How could one think
Him but a myth
I lost my flow
I lost my pith
Oh here he comes
With lines exact
I'm me again
My Muse is back

I Must Be A Cowboy
Louis Brown Dec 2010
My boss just up and fired me
My sweetheart went away
I don’t walk where doagies roam
But I stepped in some today
No, I don’t live in Texas
But I found true cowboy links
When cow manure bushwhacked me
I discovered my cowboy jinx

I never wear a cowboy hat
And I can’t throw a lariat
But my instincts tell  me now, boy,
I must be a cowboy

I don’t tote a forty-four
‘Don’t russle cows all day
Naw,  the posse didn’t hang me
‘Just stepped the wrong dern way
That’s how it goes with wranglers
When things don’t fall their way
I can’t shoot straight but my foot’s dead on
I stepped in some today

I must be a cowboy,
I stepped in some today……

I Came Upon a Crossroad
Louis Brown Dec 2010
I came upon a crossroad
With tears down either lane
I didn't want the parting fork
But both trails led to pain

I came upon a crossroad
Which hurt would I prefer
There was so much love to miss
If I should turn from her

But my heart believed we had a chance
For better roads alone
As opposites from different worlds...
Forever's just too long

I came upon a crossroad
I did what I had to do
But the hardest thing I ever did....
Was turn away from you

Some love to see bare knuckle fights
Pro football has its fans
Lifting weights is fun for those
Who’d be a muscle man
Racing’s good for Earnheart
Who likes to come in first
Some men like to push a pen
And go from bed to verse

I’LL HAVE TO SAY THAT LOVE’S MY PICK
A GENTLE ONE; NO BROKEN BONES
WHEN NIGHT UNFURLS IT’S PLAYED WITH GIRLS
RED LIPSTICK AND COLOGNE
LIGHT A CANDLE; YOU’LL FIND THE HANDLE
AND GET THE HANG OF IT
I ADORE YOUNG MISSES, HUGS AND KISSES
THAT’S WHY LOVE’S MY PICK

You may have little fusses
Cause girls are complicated
But that’s part of the charm...
The making ups the greatest
There needs to be some peace on earth
So try this game for lovers
It’s a sport as old as time
Designed to  beat all others

I Believe in Tomorrow
Louis Brown Dec 2010
They’re foreclosing on our homes left and right
Violent gangs roam the streets to find a fight
On the corner scumbags sell the young *******
That’s the bitter news the tabloids will proclaim

But some people volunteer at nursing homes
Some give to charity their whole life long
Some others give asylum for the homeless in the rain
But that’s not headline news as the media plays the game

I believe in tomorrow thru it all
God makes a lot more sunbeams
Than he makes raindrops fall
At Golgatha Hill He showed a love
No darkness can undo
He's always justified my faith
And believing like I do

So don’t give up when tabloids show the worst
Or when cable likes to find some hell on earth
For God’s a God of endless love; His rainbows stop the rain
And He would never make a world in vain

CHORUS

Bridge:
The tide comes in, the tide goes out
But goodness will prevail
Just follow in His footsteps
And you'll be right on the trail

I'm going AWOL at first light
Sherman threatens my hometown
I hate to leave Robert E. Lee
But my heart's not backing down
There's a railroad to Atlanta
I'll fight side by side with Paw
General Johnson's too outnumbered
But we'll stand at Kennesaw

I don't like to leave Virginia
But Atlanta needs me there
With my family in danger
It's a duty I must bear
I'll meet Mayde at Big Shanty
We can have some time at last
I'll get up at the crack of dawn
And kick old Sherman's ***

Now I know we're way outnumbered
They have more than two to one
And Sherman hates all rebels
He's Abe Lincoln's favorite skunk
If we could get old Stonewall
To come down for just a spell
We could kick old Abe's invaders
From Kennessaw to hell

Mayde, I'm real scared of dying
If our rebel line should fall
But I'll stand to fight **** yankees
Make 'em think they hit a wall
We own no slaves but Sherman thinks
It's rebel killin' time
So I'll shoot holes in Yankee coats
Before there's one in mine

Back to a Town
Louis Brown Dec 2010
I came back to a town

In a year of my life

To nothing the same as before

I thought I would capture

All the familiar

But time had barred shut every door

I came back to a town

The first haven I knew

I never would see it again

Like Mr. Wolfe said

Nobody finds it

It's gone just like yesterday's wind

I came back to a town

That nurtured and reared me

Forgot me, not one hand to hold

And there was a man there

In all the shop windows

So utterly lost in the cold

Honesty 101
Louis Brown Nov 2010
It's up to me to build the future
With committment in my heart
Being honest with my neighbors
Is the point where I must start
A life must  always aim for truth
No hypocrisy prevail
With no blemish in my make up
If I aim for less I fail
Integrity to one another
Puts a deeper trust in place
To uphold that awesome value
Is to lift the human race
I must always stand on honor
And be forthright to the bone
Always strive to be less selfish
Where no evil turns me wrong
There will be  a better future
On that loftier plateau
God will bless me for the wisdom
If I choose that course to grow
When I truly ply those basics
There's a difference I can make
I must be a good example.....

I came to you, oh mighty land
Asleep to everything at hand
Lethargic from more southern air
Not yet awakened, unaware
The panorama I beheld
Composed a view unparalleled
A pastor with his best endeavor
Could preach forever and forever
And never say with words as clear
As the aura of this atmosphere
In the awe inspiring craggy peaks
And the chasms as His silence speaks
Where His creation stirs conviction
That brings a balming benediction
To one that hungers for a proof
Here, upon the planets roof

Where jungles stood
Great cities rise
On desert wasteland
New farmland lies
Where man aspired
To rearrange
He dreamed a dream
And made a change
His mind is such
A shaping force
You wonder why
Man treds a course
Indulging pride
Enslaved to greed
For inexorably
They lead
To mercenary depths
So deep
His God must sit alone
And weep
As man improves
Each varied part
Except for his
Primeval heart

I Am Recorded Here
Louis Brown Nov 2010
Once upon a millenium
I  scrawled in awkward letters
Straining for an undiscovered profundity
Not so different
From an upright creature
Some ages past
Who stroked upon
An empty page
With what he thought
Were poignant truths
And monumental metaphors
Like uprights love to leave
So as to titillate
Their future discoverers
While stretching unabashedly
To be a candidate
Future philosophers will doff
With certain validation
For unique truisms.....
I am recorded here
Wow, I said admiringly
To myself
In my true language
Hey, dat's sump'm

And peel their big bananas
The Caribbean evening brings
Delightful panoramas
The jungle birds all sing their songs
As sunlight heads due west
The girls in string bikinis
Make all the men feel blessed
I love the plump and ripened fruits
Where conchitas drive me nuts
It’s fun to kiss the maidens
So friendly with their b..er..hugs
I do thank these island people
For the *** that they distill

Which Party Is Nobler
Louis Brown Oct 2010
One party cares about the sick
Conservatives don’t give a lick
They think the folks should heal themselves
Or call upon some magic elves
Right wing people are  so blind
Their icon is the money sign
Which party shows a caring soul…
Conservatives don't have that goal

Noble solons help the poor;
The rich have guilt they cannot cure
What they need are warmer souls
Or a night in hell on hotter coals
The message might get thru to them;
Selfishness should be condemned
But right wing minds are seldom kind
They hardly understand God’s mind

One party helps the meek and small
Stands up for handicapped and all
They take the time to help us out
When tough economies come about
Conservatives should know the truth;
Their interests show the awful proof
So they’ll just have to swallow that...
Their God ignores the cruel facts

I Can't Get Past Yesterday
Louis Brown Oct 2010
There's a woman in my arms tonight
She's pretty and full of grace
Ready for me to hold her tight
'Rain kisses on her face
She wants to close the distance here
And live our  fantasy
But just before I take that flight
Your shadow falls on me

I CAN'T GET PAST YESTERDAY AND YOU
NEW LOVES NEVER TAKE THE PLACE OF YOU
A SWEET NEW KISS IS NOT ENOUGH
YOUR LOVING MEMORY SHOWS ITS STUFF
I CAN'T GET PAST YESTERDAY AND YOU

I remember your warm fingertips
Your lips and it was glory
Just one touch and off we'd go
Oh what a warm love story
But I hated those last pages
When you wanted to be free
Cause I'm a prisoner of memories
Oh sweet, sweet misery

Chorus

Bridge:
I'd love to turn it all around
And wake once more with you
But tomorrow's dawn comes breaking
And yesterday shines through

The Mailbox

Neighborhood’s not changed too much
The house still looks the same
But there stands my old mailbox
With someone else’s name

By that window there she'd hold me tight
We'd listen to the rain
The years roll by before my eyes
The pleasure and the pain

They say that people change with time
I thought we never would
But now I’m just a stranger here
In my old neighborhood

If I don't leave they'll wonder why
I'm out here in the rain
Just talking to a mailbox
With someone else’s name

You cannot drive your dream

Into another’s mind

One way thinking egos

Meet failure every time

You cannot take a man

And hook him by the nose

He’s on his own volition

That’s how free will goes

It's mutual affection

That must enjoin both hearts

They must commit two wills

As one right from the start

The fairies don’t affect it

Two humans plant the seed

If love is one heart short

It never will succeed.

But there's a hill much better known

The Sad Short Life of Marvin
Louis Brown Sep 2010
There's many little dramas
That you never hear about
And I have one to tell ya
That will really wring you out

The highway streamed with traffic
And Marvin Moth loved beams
His growing curiosity
Was reaching the extremes

Luminescence caused a rapture
In this creature with his wings
He was only a beginner
And so fearless of such things

Uncle Fuzzy said, "Don't go"
His Mommy said, "Stay here"
But Marvin thought he knew it all
And he shifted up a gear

He told himself, "Oh goodness me,
That must be where "it's" at
When he puckered up to kiss it
I don't guess he heard the SPLAT!!

So I doubt he ever suffered
But I shudder through and through
Every time I see a headlight
With a smudge of gummy-goo

I Wish There Was A Road
Louis Brown Sep 2010
I’ve seen this same old street before
In every other town
Somehow It’s the same old street
That I keep going down
The signs say wine and women
It draws the men like flies
But it's a lousy atmosphere
To hope an old love dies

Just the same old painted faces
Same old two-bit places
Funny coming here to start anew
Walking through these bright lights reeling
I can’t find that same good  feeling
I wish there was road going back to you

It’s where men go when walls close in
And  shadows get too long
You need a woman in your life
The kind you had at home
And so you play the oldest game
Just reaching out for straws
Every town’s got the same old street
The same old losing cause

The Old Chain Swing
Louis Brown Sep 2010
Her boy went off to war and died
     A long long time ago
Now nameless under foreign turf
     She half forgets it's so

Out in the yard an old chain swing
     Still holds a rusting board
And with each gentle breeze that blows
     Swings of its own accord

On sunny days she sits alone
     And peers at empty air
Without regards to laws which say
That no one could be there

As though she still can hear a shrill
     Of laughter from the swing
She smiles toward the swaying board
     Immune to time's swift wing

I knew the man who stole more miles
Along the southern rails
Fifty-five years he rode those trains
On plains and mountain trails

I don't know what possessed my kin
If running from or to
But he loved those long freight trains
The only home he knew

It wasn't that he cared so much
Where those big wheels would roll
It was always in the going
That satisfied his soul

You couldn't tie my cousin down
On icy days or warm
A whistling train was in his thoughts
The day he bought the farm

I'm very sure what Heaven's like
For that old pal of mine
It has to be a long long freight
On a long long railroad line.....

Louis Brown Sep 2010
They put me by the door
And I could see below
800 feet to the ground
A solid green carpet
Looking soft enough to sleep on.
But the limbs underneath
Were sharp and deadly.
It wasn't a good day
For a jump I thought.
Who wants to jump out of a C-47
On their first airplane ride
Into the wild blue yonder--
No one with good sense
As I answered my own question.
I remembered hearing about
The guy who received a parachute
Not knowing it needed repair
But he had faith nothing happened
To a nice guy like him.
So when he jumped out
And didn't feel the jolt slow down
His descent to the ground
He looked up with panicked eyes
And saw the chute fluttering away.
He muttered a few cuss words
When he saw the ground come fast.
He didn't pull his reserve in time
And never heard the deadly thud.
Those were my thoughts
As the T-7 parachute
Opened with the snap of a whip
Just as the parachutist behind me
Started walking on my canopy.
I could see his boots sink in deep
And I hollared, get your sorry *** off
You low life no good *******--
A panic lingo that flowed out
Because I was scared crapless
At the turn of events.
Luckily my chute didn't collapse
And his chute started floating away.
No harm done except my nerves
Were a little frayed.
It only takes about 8-10 seconds
To get to the ground
From the time you leave the plane.
So I looked down and there it was
With the wind blowing about 20 knots.
I could feel myself swaying
Much like a pendulum on a clock.
I wasn't trained to land on my back
As I'd learned the five point landing technique
But then the ground slammed my rear
With a sledge hammer effect
Knocking the light off in my brain.
But I must have awakened shortly
As the wind had opened my canopy
Dragging me across the rocky landing zone
Till I became aware and remembered
To pull the bottom risers on my chute
To empty the air from it
So I could roll on top of it.
Then an instructor came by yelling
Get your *** up soldier
And take your chute back where you got it.
I responded accordingly
Wanting to keep my nose clean
And make the rest of my jumps
So I could get my Parachutist Wings.
It would take 4 more jumps that week.
I had to meet those requirements
Or they would send my derriere oveseas
Where a war was going on.
That was all the incentive I needed
To bust my **** gladly
And claw my way to paratrooper status.
Geronimo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o
I thought sheepishly to myself
For my not so altruistic bravado.

I Am an Anglo

I am an Anglo
Pondering the Indians again
I know we won that war
I recall my greedy ancestors
Exiled them to reservations
Out west for the rest
Of their history with white men
I find no joy in cruelty
Punishing vibrant people
Pushing them off their land
Just because they forgot
To get their deeds
Recorded at the courthouse
They owned it first
It was their real estate
And they had the right to hunt
These hills and vales
Forever in God's eyes
Until we drove them out
Steeling every vital acre
As we called them savages
So it would look all right
To abuse them and take
Their world from under them
We shoved them all
Along the trail of tears
And other paths
While the savages for real
Are the ancestors
Of the people
Whose faces we see
In our mirrors today.....

*** was something from the start

To keep the species going

If you mean to make a child

Be there when he is growing

The responsibility is great

Not something took for granted

You must be careful with the seed

And where and when it’s planted

The act is obligating…

It’s not  for wanton pleasure

The little one must be aware

He’s loved beyond all measure

And those that leave one on a porch

Are worthless when they do it

You must be mindful in this world

Of those you bring into it

While you enjoy the moment

Be cautious with your role

No *** is unprotected

AMERICA'S DARKEST MOMENT
WHEN BLACK SMOKE FILLED THE AIR
AS STEEL AND MORTAR VANISHED
ONLY ANGELS WALKED THOSE STAIRS

CHORUS:
WE REMEMBER THAT SEPTEMBER
WHERE THE PAST IS ONE BAD DREAM
THOSE LOVED ONES LIVE WITHIN US
THERE'S NO CHANGING WHAT THEY MEAN
WE REMEMBER THAT SEPTEMBER
AND THE GRAVEYARD THAT WAS MADE
BY THOSE NINETEEN MUSLIM KILLERS.....
WHILE THE DEBT IS STILL UNPAID

AND NOW THEY WANT ANOTHER MOSQUE
NEAR VERY HALLOWED GROUND
TO BUILD  IT NEAR GROUND ZERO
IS AN INSULT SO PROFOUND
AND WHERE THEY'VE BUILT THEIR TEMPLES
THEY'VE BROUGHT MILITANTS WITH CLAWS
THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN
SELLING ISLAM'S THEIR GREAT CAUSE

CHORUS:
WE REMEMBER THAT SEPTEMBER
WHERE THREE THOUSAND BURNED AND SCREAMED
NOW THOSE LOVED ONES LIVE WITHIN US
TIME WON'T CHANGE HOW MUCH THEY MEAN
WE REMEMBER THAT SEPTEMBER
AND THE GRAVEYARD THAT WAS MADE
BY THOSE NINETEEN MUSLIM KILLERS.....
WHILE THE DEBT IS STILL UNPAID

Wild Dream Within A Dream
Louis Brown Sep 2010
Your poetry could raise the dead
I felt it in your verse
Exploring deep within your poem
With hunger and a thirst

Your femininity was there
Your fragrance in the air
It made the animal in me
Rouse up to want you there

The gossamer upon your chest
Revealed the sweet outline
And there were two impressions
I kissed one at a time

I didn't mean to go too far
Just blame it on the need
I couldn't hold it longer
For passion took the lead

And, ah, the rapture deep within
Sent fire through my veins
The dream within a dream so real
It spoiled my Calvin Kleins

Though  good as any moment
Reality could present
The dream won't make me guilty
When I see the fallen tent

A Loyal Man Indeed
Louis Brown Aug 2010
I’ve always looked at dancing girls.
I think that all men do.
I drool at scenes
Like tight blue jeans–
Until they fade from view.

Where pretty girls are showcased
I’m sure to raise a toast
Cause a derriere
Might make me stare
Till I become a ghost.

And, yes, it’s like a candy store
When beauties crowd the beach
Because a teeny
And snug bikini
Make my right and left eyes meet.

For I lo-o-o-o-o-ve to goggle long long legs
Whereever I may roam
And if they're cute
I will weigh the fruit
But I always boogie home

Don't Lead Me to Temptation
Louis Brown Aug 2010
That pretty neckline in your dress
Sure gives my blood a rush
My eyes are going cross-eyed
For what I long to touch
That fragrance smells so sweet on you
My discipline could give in
So please don't lure me closer
Where the troubles could begin

Don't lead me temptation
I can find it on my own
You give me palpitations
No heart could take it long
I've loved you in my fantasies
And, Babe, you know it's hard
Temptation 's gonna break my will
If I don't leave old Dodge

There's a line that I can't cross
There's some scruples I can't bend
I've been lucky not to stumble
Though I know how close it's been
While I love you in a special way
Trying to love two loves is cold
And I can't hold up the middle long
I just can't play that role.....

So don't lead me to temptation
I can find it on my own
You give me palpitations
No heart could take it long
I've loved you in my fantasies
And, Babe, you know it's hard
Temptation's gonna break my will
If I don't leave old Dodge

They're warm

In the winter

**** good

With a splinter

And far better chefs

Than the men

They're sweet

And sincere

They look great

From the rear

I'd like

A nice harem

Of ten

:-))))

Moment of Truth
Louis Brown Aug 2010
There is a past age

That no one can alter

And tomorrow will be

What tomorrow will be

But here in the middle

Is one precious moment

A quicksilver instant

That challenges me

Don't Give Too Much
Louis Brown Aug 2010
Give your neighbor all you can
Give sweat unto your boss
Give your troubles to the wind
With just one mighty toss
Give your kidneys to caffeine
A hundred years they'll go
Give Gene Simmons your big ****
And let your skinny show

Give your payments to the bank
To send your kids to college
Send 'em to a better school
To give their noodles knowledge
Give charity to old goodwill
To prove your heart is pure
Like Robin Hood take from the rich
And give it to the poor

Give tithes unto your preacher man
He'll get you through the Gate
Throw in a golden nugget
You may not have to wait
One last thing Mr. Houseman adds
Give carefully your hearts
Give crowns and pounds and guineas
But don't include your ****

IN LOVER'S AFTERGLOW
Louis Brown Aug 2010
I remember the beginning
And how you took my heart
The way your arms would hold me
Your lips so warm and soft
The way you bit my neck
To grab my full attention
And off to wilder tempos
Till love relieved our tension
We’d relax a moment
In lovers' afterglow
And soon you’d be right back
And off again we’d go
You woke my sleeping senses
And warmed me to the bone
Our loving was fantastic
With thunder in our *****
Just like two thoroughbreds
We pushed our outer limits
Holding back just barely
To delay the final finish
Milking all the sweetness
As hungry lovers might
To reach another pinnacle
Before the morning light

Coffee, My Life Saver
Louis Brown Aug 2010
I drink to the java they put in my cup

Brazillian or Turkish I guzzle it up

Starbucks to Borders just pour me my brew

I need that caffeine or my poet is through

'Fore I’m snoring away in a Manhattan minute

Fill up my mug with my potion poured in it

Those dark little beans are my favorite booster

I'm up to the task like a Rhode Island rooster

Phooey on tea leaves and colas with fizz

I’d cry to the heavens, is that all there is!!?!

With no mud or jamocho my words have no pomp

And no lovely check from old Wergle Flomp
