To my self of reason wonder why
To subconscious of no surprise

Where the wild roses grow
Sown from below
Covered in dirt and mud
Struggling to break free
Pushing through pressure beneath

I'll let them slide more easily and not hold on too tightly

Dream of summer
As winter washes away
The icicles melt
Frosty ground turns to green

When the world seems cruel and the hurt builds up inside

Over time have learnt to understand what emotions can arise
Why does it trigger
Why do they aim the gun
Once the smoke clears I see the anger resentment in it's hold of pain and fear
In the end I hope nothing bad said to the ear will negatively impact the life in the moment or that year

Each Sunday this lady walks by me
We both exchange smiles and a few pleasant words
This morning a surprise awaited
Both said hello addressed the cold then out comes a card and a present
A Christmas card to wish good cheer and a little box with chocolates inside
Little did she know I had not had a great night before and the presents unexpected so sweet so lovely made such an impact
I thanked her wholeheartedly then walked on in my tracks
As tears fell down from my eyes
You never know how far a smile can travel :-)

The moth drawn to the light repeatedly gets burned
Over time this moth has seen and experienced so learnt
Now it flies free and dancing in the dark

To some they don't come easy and many go without
It makes my heart ache to know in this life people endure such agonising pain and no home no fixed place
This year from past wanted to donate
Reserved meal for Christmas health checks and roof over head for a person at least
This Christmas I will be thinking of those that have less and I hope they too can enjoy a merry good feast

I'm sure there's so much more to come but I can look back and see why what was done was done
How it shaped and changed the girl inside
How much the internal struggle burned cyanide
Choking on too much anger hurt fear pride
Though sometimes having no good reason to find the worth I hide
Learnt to concentrate on not so great side
I would fight to catch the shine
But my mind was always falling further behind
Too many critical words they grew to be the only voice I heard
Still get it I listen but keep balance in check

Then one day
Call out had been made for colony to be smoked away
Neighbours couldn't cope to have them creatures stay
I understand a pest to family
But wish nature and man could live in much more harmony
