Listen to your secret rainbows,
No time for needless angst and woe,
There's a small Pegasus on your shoulder this day,
You've got to make the most of every day,
Listen to the rainbow in our hearts,
Even though we're together but apart,
Love comes in different shapes and sizes,
Any day in our lives can bring us surprises,
No time for needless angst and woe,
Listen to your secret rainbows!
A whimsy. Feedback welcome.

They sow the seeds of doubt,
Where wars began, there is nowt,
Shameful displays
on the world's stage,
There's much to ponder,
On the future yonder,
No longer a slogan,
Who sells the uranium?
Oz is sowing the seeds of doubt,
Where wars began, there'll be nowt!
Feedback welcome.
Seize day,
Positive way,
Today!

Today I feel self-contained,
Now I'm in my golden age,
As dear old Einstein would say,
The Earth moved, but the chicken stayed,
Chookas, adieu and good day!
Feedback welcome.

I set off to myself improve,
Google as mentor, what a groove,
I changed my responses,
To a bully's nonsense,
Adopted a calm demeanour,
Ignored childish misdemeanour,
To be a calm and capable *******,
Even when tolerance flags.
Keep on smiling all the way,
Let's have a totally peaceful day!
Feedback welcome.

Self service is exactly that,
Change is supposed to good, that's that,
But where are our checkout chicks?
This technology gives us the blip!
Now self service is more advanced,
It leads us greys in a merry dance,
If change is supposed to be so good,
Is there a kind human hand here? Touch wood!
Feedback welcome.

We've heard of seven deadly sins,
Where do seven graces begin?
One is a smile on every face,
Then kindness to all is a grace,
Humility is to bless,
Sharing is great, no less,
Peace in daily life,
Walk away from strife,
Understanding is for free,
Compassion for all he's and she's,
Share these among all races,
Should bring a smile to their faces,
That's seven heavenly graces.......
Feedback welcome.

Now this verse has begun,
Who does have the most fun,
*** addicts or tea ladies?
Who'd want to be your  tea lady?
*** addict have the best smiles,
Tell you why, if you listen for a while.......
Feedback welcome.
Your romance is sheer delight,
Secret smiles shine so bright,
Hope you have happiest day,
Happy brains don't adult today,
P.J. 's on, cartoons to view,
Chips and lollies for me and you,
Send blithe prayers to thee,
Love's bliss--our posterity,
You bring your joyful love to me,
Happy hearts last for eternity.

Yes, it was shock therapy,
The power went out, you see,
No more internet for me and thee,
We were so addicted, totally,
One whole day, no electricity,
A day with no internet and no TV,
Yes, it was shock therapy......
Feedback welcome.

Showers are here,
Summer this year,
Here are the showers,
Drowning my flowers,
Lovely showers,
Full of power,
Wash away my flowers,
Supposed to be showers,
Not pouring rain!
Storms here again,
Summer's early this year,
I scoff,
The  showers are here!
Feedback welcome.

I bought a coffee the other day,
Gawped at society on the way,
Coffee shop like the undertakers,
Here no conversation makers,
"The  crowd" sitting in total silence,
Gazing at phones, is it sense?
So much for that coffee shop,
The solitude of worshiping Microsoft,
Alone together, where does it stop?
Solitary silence in the coffee shop!
Feedback welcome.

Here is a nonsense thought,
A really silly new sport,
Not the sport we were taught,
What about underwater tennis?
Hitting a serve would be a menace!
Then you could volley and lob,
Underwater ,what a hard job!
It's only a nonsense thought,
Can you invent a silly sport?
Feedback welcome.

Our silly state of paranoia,
Are leaders here to annoy ya?
Ghosts of government past,
We've had enough drivel to last!
Our systems need to improve,
Building bias, not a good groove.
Kids are born colour-blind,
They teach oldies their great minds,
We're ashamed of our politicians,
Any excuse today? Like superstition,
Then there's youth unemployment,
Disaffected youth for deployment,
Mendicants at charity, welfare dependents.
Our silly state of paranoia,
Are politicians sent to annoy ya!
Inspired by daily newspapers. Feedback welcome.

Simply irresistible, let's say,
Is chocolate calling you today?
Simply irresistible,
Fat and sugar so edible,
Endorphins so pleasurable,
Is chocolate calling you today?
Simple irresistible, let's say....

Let's join the crowds and throngs,
We're going to opera to sing along,
We'll sing along with Figaro,
Let's frock up, and off we go!
Feedback welcome. A joke in a poem.

I can close my eyes and see you again,
Drifting aboard a dream catcher's train,
Even if I never see you again,
You still weave the dreams in my brain,
Oh, dream catcher,
Can we make it through the night?
I still glimpse you in the morning light,
Across realms of fantasy,
Are  you the dream catcher for me......
Feedback welcome.

One singular sensation, my dears,
Can change your life in a flash, cheers,
Your luck can change one day,
May good fortune come our way.......
Feedback welcome.
Sinners we're all afire,
Immersed in our desire,
Naught can impact flame,
No one really to blame,
Earthy, human embers,
Revival, age remembers,
Sensual, our Decembers!
Feedback welcome.

What can I say about my sisters?
Are they a thorn in my side, like blisters?
Or my oldest friends, indeed,
Always mentors in time of need,
The family ties that bind,
Ever ready to say' never mind,'
We look alike, but think apart,
Oldest friends from times gone past,
'Older ladies', we've ripened,
Can't buy sisters with a stipend,
Are sisters thorns in my side, like blisters?
No, you cannot buy my sisters!
A reflection on the sorority.

If I sound jaundiced, so be it!
All men are liars, get over it,
All men are unfaithful, that's it!
They like being miserable, leave 'em to it,
If  I sound jaundiced, so be it,
All men are liars,  I got over it!
FEEDBACK WELCOME!

Long ago, once we were teens,
We all read "Mad" magazines,
Now we read of  Peter Fonda passing,
Down the tarmac ever blasting,
Always in a '****** Rider" cartoon,
Forever young, a classic lampoon!

How to get a good night's sleep--
Instead of enumerating endless sheep,
Reclining beautifully with Aristotle,
Don't decline, hit the bottle,
What does rhyme with Aristotle?
I ponder parades of passing Axolotls,
Maybe Australia's golden wattles,
Driving by, foot on throttle.
Yes, they all rhyme with Aristotle,
Maybe I shouldn't drink that bottle,
Musing thoughts philosophical,
Aristotle waxing lyrical and logical,
I'll curl up with this learned book,
"What is beautiful?" at Aristotle I'll look,
Far different from enumerating sheep,
Drifting into a good night's sleep.
Bit of fun, what is beautiful, a good night's sleep.  Feedback welcome.

I made up a new slogan,
For Oz bogans,
About their moccasins,
Their get-about gear,
They wear moccasins here,
"Moccies top rate!"
Bogan slogan--great!

A strong smell memory,
What do lilacs smell like to me?
It's like a childhood prompt,
of a garden long gone,
Sweet fragrances divine,
Lilacs in old gardens, time
passed, scent memory,
What do lilacs smell like to me?
Feedback welcome.

Smiles are kindly and free,
Let's spread smiles globally,
We should be more like children,
Greet each day with laughs and grins,
Smiles are a friendly grace,
A delight for every face,
Smiles are our happy treasure.
Delights for human pleasure,
Smiles are great to use,
Glowing us, as we amuse,
Yes, smiles are kindly and free,
Let's spread smiles globally.
Feedback welcome.

Vague thoughts of distant days,
Better to always look forward, say,
"Make the most of this day!"
Feedback welcome.

What is a positive change?
Social change in a world deranged,
Why can't we break new ground,
And good vibes bring around,
We need some positive global action,
Instead of reactionary actions,
Always look forward, never back,
For the future of Earth, cut some slack,
Come on Earthlings, any suggestions?
What's your positive social actions?
Feedback welcome.
Netspeak-- social or not?
Hermits suspect plot!

Is this soliloquy fun?
Of good men, I'd like to meet just one,
Isn't snivelling fun?
There's a comedic part of this,
Inner whinese is a lovely chick,
How do oldies get proactive?
Soliloquy of an old woman,
To whom do you reach a hand?
You got the best of men,
I got the worst of men....
This is a soliloquy of one,
Isn't snivelling fun?
Feedback welcome.
Julie Grenness Nov 2015
I know this sounds like a soliloquy,
But why did bulldust men find me?
God made Ratlotto sardonically,
Life's ***** prizes always find me,
Now 70  years old is  the new young,
O God of funster fun,
Is it them or me?
Yes indeed, my soliloquy,
Is it them or doormat me?
Whinging is fun for us,
No one's listening to this fuss,
Dear God of Ratlotto ***** prizes,
Any more masculine surprises?
Feedback welcome. Just as well no one listens.

A poet in solitude,
Wasteful thoughts do intrude,
Do you think about blip people too?
How to waste thoughts in solitude-
An overthinker-the big picture, too,
Nothing happened, here in solitude,
So, you all have a great day, too!
Feedback welcome.
How can I express my thanks from afar?
Lately, drove past me, smiling and waving,
In such past times, he was my guiding star,
Treasured image of him I am saving.
"Sit tight, dear one, you see things to the end,"
Always I fondly recall what he did say,
But separately, my path did onward wend,
I really never know, except to pray.
Steadfast, he did come turning back to me,
Inspiring in this dear eternal love,
Afar and beyond in that century,
Teaching that all our gifts sent from above.

He gave all he did ever meet happy heart,
Before time and all human breath does depart.
Julie Grenness Apr 2017
A question for you, this
is a line I read in Genesis,
Who were the sons of God? I ask,
Ethnopoetry of the Bible, the task,
And who were the daughters of Earth?
Did Gods mate with men, now a dearth,
What does 'giants' portray?
Way back when, in ancient days,
Who were the sons of God? A guess,
Did we all come from the stars, no less?
Feedback welcome.

Who'd be a caregiver for thee,
Why are you moaning to me,
Welcome to your geriatricity,
Well, sooky la la, hear you moan,
No wonder you whinge alone......
Feedback welcome.
My man for all seasons,
Love happens, no reason,
Would you mind if I say?
Magic's still same today.
Ageing like vintage wine,
Moon beams, our love benign,
You cast pearls, your smiles,
Let's love on these whiles,
Whatever you wish, you see,
You always get it from me,
Sit tight right there, okay,
Not running, never far away.
Feedbacj welcome,

So, this is Melbourne,
Here, we have a new norm,
Last night, a man's ***** got shot,
His ex did not think he was so hot!
Sounds like she was a Christian pal,
Guess she was my kind of gal!
Yes, this is Melbourne,
We've evolved a new norm,
She did Lorena Bobbit proud,
Shooting penises is now allowed!
Feedback welcome.
You give many reasons,
Our smiling seasons,
Fishing for souls in human race,
Preaching all find such grace,
Comforting souls foods,
Love tender attitudes.
Feedback welcome.
Julie Grenness May 2016
We all dream of a soul mate,
Maybe it is never too late,
We give each other's love away,
Do we get more back this way?
A soul mate for symbiosis,
Even if I never meet this his,
Your cherished dreams can come true,
Who is a soul mate for a guy like you?
Feedback welcome.

To live in peace, my dears,
Calm and smiling, no tears,
You bait my response, I fear,
All I say is, "Yes, dear!"
I think what  I choose, my dears,
The sounds of silence, cheers........

Interpolated amidst,
Glittering stars betwixt,
Deep intervals of space,
Separations of vacuum grace,
Glimpses of sights unseen,
Boundaries of space between,
Vast space between galaxies,
Existent for eternities,
Space between quest for our race,
Horizons of space between,
Eons of sights unseen.

Yes, it's International Women's Day,
Let's all celebrate our own day,
I didn't hear that, what did you say?
Oh, yes, I'm an f.....ing moll again,
Yes, in Oz, it's f....ing Molls' Day!
With our philosophies of molls,
Molls' non-participation protocols,
You know what great-grandma said?
"Bullies don't get!" get that in your head,
Yes, Molls' management rules, I say,
Let's celebrate International Women's Day,
Now in Oz, it's f.....ing Molls' day,
With a smile, of course, that's the way,
Smile, babes, this could be you one day!!!!

I cast a wish into  the world,
A message from a good old girl,
As  I wish for good intentions,
From a pacifist, I mention,
Make the best of every situation,
Step back from their manipulation,
Nasty makes negativity,
Let's hear it for positivity,
I am okay here today,
Are you okay this way?
Yes, we're both good as gold,
It's a ****** to be growing old,
So let's pray for tranquil ways,
Peace means calm, hooray!
Feedback welcome.

Yes, it's the Spring Racing Carnival again,
What a glorious sunny Spring day!
All the frocks are gathered to the fray,
Should I wear my fascinator again?
Need  I really wear all  this lingerie?
Look, my dress trimmed in broderie anglaise,
Here we are at the races again,
What horses? They don't rate,
Good excuse for best champagne,
Party frocks are gathered to the fray!

Today  I sat in the sunshine,
I lingered for a time,
Flowers are budding,
Insects are a'buzzing,
Seasons have turned, somehow,
The air is milder now,
Spring is in the air,
Lighten us up everywhere,
Human to earth, human to earth.
Thanks for Spring, for what it's worth!
Human to earth, thanks for Spring. Feedback welcome.

Spring is a young woman,
Friend to every human,
Laughing, sunny, warm, shining,
Green and floral, beguiling,
Happy scented days of smiling,
Light blues skies, breezing,
The world is softly loving in Spring,
Like a young woman for cuddling......
