Hearts are not constant,
They each have many shades,
Their colour depends not on themselves,
But the light shining on them.

In the light they radiate beauty,
Each hue complimenting the other,
But in shade they lose focus,
And at night they are lost completely.

But Hearts are not black,
They only appear dark,
Nor are they red,
As even the most loving know hate.

Instead they span a spectrum,
Each unique,
But made of the same,
Primary emotions.

Hearts are pastels,
When touched they merge,
Blending towards each other,
Bridging the gap.

Although they cannot always fuse completely,
There will always be enough different colours,
For hearts to find companionship,
And trust, if not love.

Cuts and wounds and scratches
Set deep in your skin
They create little tracks
Like Daddy's motorbike on
That deathly moor

Cuts and wounds and scratches
Creating red blood
To swell to the surface
Like Daddy's body on
That deathly moor

Cuts and wounds and scratches
They are
Deep
Angry
Ugly crevices
On the map of your body

Cuts and wounds and scratches
Deep enough as crevices
To fall and sink into
Just like Daddy did on
That deathly moor

In the light
You're afraid of the shadows

But in the dark
You're afraid of yourself

We want to be comfortable, cozy and confident
With who we are
We want to fit in
Like tetrical pieces, finding our place
We want society
To stop
Putting
Pressure
On
Us
We want to be ourselves
Our young, teenage selves
But society doesn't want that
**Don't they?
Yup. Typically stereotyped society, through my teenage eyes.

If Life is but a dream,
Then I wish to wake up
And live in the harsh truth
Of reality and pain
Hearts are not constant,
In the light they radiate beauty,
In shade they lose focus,
In the night they are lost.

But Hearts are not black or red,
They span a spectrum,
Each unique,
But not so different from each other.

Hearts are pastels,
When touched they merge,
Bridging the gap between each other,
And becoming one.

Although they cannot always fuse completely,
There will always be enough different colours,
For hearts to find companionship,
And trust, if not love.

Wish upon a star;
Go on, fly away far;
Home is ever so lonely now;
Both painful and true;
You left, quite out of the blue;
My child, please come home;
I'll play all your favourite games;
Even the one in the frightful brown mud!
Cold and alone;
This house full of memories;
I want to go with you;
Oh, please take me away;
Aren't the tales real?
Pirates and Pan and Lost Boys too?
If you hadn't got it, I wrote this poem as if I were parent whose child had been taken by Pan.
