In the real world
you don't walk unexpectedly
around a corner
and say hi
and make smiles rise,
instead boring practicality
keeps us apart,
yawning gaps
on the map.
But miles don't stop smiles
rising
in a place
in a space
between us.

Stargazer
in every lifetime
there is that special someone who steps into your path
while their presence may be brief
their footprints are eternal

You
You saw right through me
the day we met.

And once again
I thought to myself
If this was going to be another meeting
that I would regret.

Although little did I know
that you were not like the others I've met
For you only showed me generosity and respect.

I will never forget the night we slept
you hold me close to your chest
embracing and consoling me as I wept.

Your love that you've given me
will always be cherished and kept.
I never knew that I'd deserve someone like you.

I promise you
that I can't be any happier.

Mother didn't hear me
Father wasn't near me
I grew
Up
At the age
Of five.
Now I give my
Ballerina
My daughter,
A much better life.
That's love.
That's what's right.

Day
does it really matter what I write in this box?
if it never makes a difference?

does it really matter what I have to say?
if no one really cares?

does it matter if I  write one poem or a million?
if they don't really mean anything?

does it really matter at all?

No.

because I'm just another shadow, wanting to be in the light.

Did my Love weigh you down?
Anchor you to a place of hurt or confusion?
Could you identify when it happened?
At least tell me what Season?
What went first? Was it the heart or the soul?
Body or mind?
Whatever happened to "I love you more"?
What about these memories weighed you down?
Did the water swallow you whole?
Did the play become all you know?
Was this some grand act, a temporary segue from the truth?
Could you honestly tell me it meant as much to you?
I still dream about us sitting in the park, a blanket beneath us
Dreaming about our bodies entwined, warm and right
The good and the bad
What out of all this weighed you down?
Inspired by the song by Early Winters
Don't say you love me, unless
you have seen me dancing in the rain.
I know you won't mean it, until
you've also seen me struggling through pain.
The teacher tells the class to write a poem
Jokes on her, the kid in the back has already written over two thousand.
Self-parody poem. Can't  sleep.
