I kissed my lover here,
Sandwiched between the smells and the sells;
Turkish delight and baklava,
Over ripening fruit,
Roast, moist meats in sourdough,
And him, heady, ready and in my spell.

So excited, we both were,
To be kissing, at last,
Surrounded by delicious.
All these succulent wonders,
But I wanted to eat him,
Eat him, with my eyes, my mouth,
Savour every moment
Every morsel, while I could.

Lost to me now, my Prince of Feasts,
Do you ever wander, among the fruits and flowers,
Hoping for a glimpse of me?
Do the scents and sounds evoke
The ghosts of us, kissing?
They do, for me, every time.
I close my eyes, and salivate,
Longing to devour you again.

There is no beauty
in pretense

only the fleeting
mask of some
shameful truth

Amber Moons
Stolen by the rigor of minute
Cold and frozen soul
Never been so complacent and whole
Gust of the wind does whisper
Shaking this dormant emotion
Sleeping in such memory of tribulation
Like painstaking stitches
My frail hands bled to fasten
Instantly unraveling every now and then

A drizzle of photographs
Composing echoes of the thunder
Prodding what I can only remember
Sternly lashing my placid sanity
Boosted with awakened pain
In lieu of this incessant rain
Confined in the lingering  loneliness
The stillness of a harbored trauma
Breaking my feigned amnesia

Of the heart unrequited in time
Lost its hope through exchanging seasons
Served with no fair reasons.

Of the person I glorified in me
Bringing the stars that shone my halo
Now gone and paid a woe

'Tis moonlight, summer moonlight,
All soft and still and fair;
The solemn hour of midnight
Breathes sweet thoughts everywhere,

But most where trees are sending
Their breezy boughs on high,
Or stooping low are lending
A shelter from the sky.

And there in those wild bowers
A lovely form is laid;
Green grass and dew-steeped flowers
Wave gently round her head.

Just when did our expectations
grow so very incredibly grandiose?
This feeling we seem to have developed,
regarding divine personal entitlement?
We want what we want and,
by God when we want it!

If "Selfish" was a Mill Stone,
Most of us would surely wear it,
around our self-absorbed necks.
It's all about me, to hell with the rest!
People, friends we are all in this together,
Maybe it's a test.
"Do unto other's" still works the best.

Then there is the blame game we play,
the old/new too quick to sue game.
What about that?
Slip and fall on your back,
take the money and run, it's a sad fact.
The boss gave you a hard look,
go straight to HR and sue the *****.
Never mind that the poor guy,
has a huge family to feed,
That he was not wearing,
his glasses only focusing his eyes,
and not "hard looking" you.

I don't know, people used to be more civil,
even willing to forgive and forget, now it seems,
All about some windfall from out of the blue.
How to ***** your neighbor before they screws you.
What ever happened to "Live and let Live?"
Come on my brother's and sister's, get over it!
There is a big difference between "Want" and "Need".
And want in my dictionary is spelled "G R E E D"!
Inspired by the Eagles Song "Get over it".
And by the sad observation and recognition of what we are becoming.

Red, the color of your lips.
Black, the color of your smile.
Red, the passion that you share.
Black, the whole within your heart.

Red are roses in the fields.
Black the clouds that give them life.
Red's the blood within your veins.
Black's the meaning of your life.

Red's the love that people share.
Black the dresses when they die.
Red. The devil lies in hell.
Black. In space there is no life.

Red the reason you're alive.
Black see people who are blind.
Red makes bulls go wild.
Black makes metalheads go wild.

Red your blood stains on the floor.
Black your future after life.
Red, the color of your lips.
Black, the color of your faded smile.

Ben
i woke up this morning
locked myself in the bathroom
with whiskey beer and netflix
a hot steam shower and
aching thoughts for a cigarette

they said be strong you'll make it in time
but all i see is a negative sum numbers game
ad infinitum forevermore on & on & on
another day another nicked nickel through my fingers

so instead of being a "productive" member of society
i'm drunk at 8:00 am and wallowing in self pity
but hey the shows are free
but this shower's gunna cost me
