i‘ve grown completely
numb to any sort
of emotion or feeling,
all because you crushed
me to pieces and never
bothered coming back
and picking them up.

You
I'm wearing your sweatshirt to sleep again
I'm under my own roof and it makes me feel more at home

I've bitten my nails until they bleed
But when I hold your hand, everything seems to heal

I can't undo the tangles in my hair
But you trace your fingers down my arm and every one of my thoughts becomes unwinded and untangled before you
There was a poem
awaiting me
from the morn

announced her name
showed faintly
shy to be born!

She walked all night
along my dreams
fell as dew

robbed daylight
its howling screams
she hardly grew!

She tore my sleep
her garbled rhymes
thumped heartbeat

I couldn’t keep
her broken lines
on crumpled sheet!

There was a poem
awaiting me
from the morn

her incoherence
made no sense
she was stillborn!

I sit by the window waiting…
The sun breaking through…
Hoping to exile night’s perfidy
With sharp stiletto’ed, piercing
Razored orange rays…

But why does the sun wear a grey shroud?
Blighted, saddened…
As it looks down upon my
Forlorn soul behind the lonely window

The nightingale that sang its melody
Yesterday, with gay abandon…
The little shrub in my patch
Pining in loneliness all alone,
Had given cause to the little bird
Offering a crimson flower each dawn
For it to celebrate love
Dance, rejoice life, sing its beautiful song

Lies withered, the bloom gone
Who broke whose heart…and why?

Insufficient
I slept in the darkness, it was lonely
And it was silent without you
One look out my window
I traced your face in the stars above
But the day chased them away
What is this love?
I don't feel the same
And you forgot our love
Like you forget a daydream

And we all fade to gray

Darkness nurses the dreams
Waiting to take flight at break of dawn
I dream of endless skies of blue

blotted with clouds

that lightly flew

I dream of rippling waves of seas

streaked with sunlight

stalking the breeze

but most of all

I've dreamed of you

Your curvy lips spread in a smile

your fingertips touching mine

A lock of your hair, black as sin

across your face, grazing your chin

I've dreamed of you, whispering softly

singing me a song, dancing not so properly

I run to you, to hold u close

before you vanish, utterly to my woes

Haunting my dreams, just to make me suffer

when I jolt awake, in pain i utter

cries of despair, not finding u there

Dreams of joy, dreams of wonder

everyone dreams, they love going under

one would think, i am loathe to dream

on cold nights, waking to a scream

but most of all,

I've dreamed of you...
Why do we dream?
