Between the two of us,
there are three,
I, she  and our selfishness
in person, quite heavy,
as an undivided bundle,
others will always  perceive,
if one looks hard enough,
that is.
You have no guards for protection.
You do have me.
And that's enough alone.

You have no internary to follow for protocol.
To attend ceremonial events.
You a royal subject.
You're my queen.

And the crown you have that worth so much.
Doesn't sit upon your head.
You do wear upon your hand.
And that's your ring.
One that holds so much between us.

You might not sit upon a throne.
But our home is our castle.
And in this house you're in control.
You my queen.

And this is the way it should be.
Two broken souls met
And finally realized
Together they are whole.
My Dear True Love,

Though I haven't been in many relationships,
I know you are out there. I can hear your cries
and your laughter. I can see your smile and
your frown. You see and hear mine too. We
haven't met yet but I'm anticipating the day
our eyes will connect and love will fill both of
our lives. My Dear True Love, I write this letter
to let you know I love you so much, and though
we haven't met yet, I'm still waiting. Waiting for
the day we can finally be together.

Love,
Your James

I let you put your signature
                       in my throbbing heart,
how could you heartlessly erase it,
               unheeding my pleadings and part?

                                                                                                  her soft whispers still reverberate,
would she remember our days together,
I realize, her silent presence was my succor.

Everything I've strived for has slipped through my shaking hands
and shattered on the ground before my eyes
so down this path I'll stumble
with a full heart but hollow life
till death finally realizes my peak is nearing
and cuts me off short
before I'm known for the failure I turn out to be
instead of the promise I used to hold

You said to stop and smell the roses
Each time you pass them by
Don't be in such a hurry
For even roses have to die

A fragrance like no other
A smell your senses consume
A drop of love from up above
A little of Heaven's perfume

It's the flower of perfection
That its stem so gently adorns
Its petals hold such beauty
That they're guarded by its thorns

You said to stop and smell the roses
And for twenty years I've tried
I'm no longer in a hurry
Without you by my side

The roses are a part of me
Knowing the joy they gave
So I stop and smell the roses
As I place them on your grave
