Pain shared is lighter
Held by compassionate hearts.
Community serves.
Parted fingers made it hard to see,
I was that girl,
I was scared of everything,
But I'm finally getting older,
This time has made me wiser at times,
I've watched people come, then walk by,
The broken roads threw me off my tracks,
But I'm learning how to get back my feet.
Words hurt me worse,
More then a fist ever could,
I was the girl,
I wouldn't do anything about it,
But through my hard work,
I've learned,
I'm actually worth something,
So I'm wise enough,
To tell you to go on your way.
My hands won't shake,
My knees won't tremble anymore,
When you decided to scare me,
All my insecurities,
They lead back to you,
but I'm not that girl anymore,
I've learned to get back to my feet,
I'm wiser then you think,
I'm not that girl anymore.
We live
In a give me
Society
Give me this
Give me that
We don't
Stop to think
How our
Give me attitudes
Effect everyone
Else around us
We don't stop
To think
About where
Our things go
We don't stop
To think
About the people
That are being
Affected the most
By our mass
Producing of
Things we don't
Ultimately need
In the first place
We need to step
Away from
Our needless
Waste
We need to
Start to
Understand
We have more
Than we need
If we just use it
Correctly
Its not about
Trying to see
Just how much
You can get
But seeing
How much
You can give
We need to move
From a Give me this
Give me that
Mentality to a
Giving this
Giving that
Mentality
So that we can
Start to live
In peace
And harmony
Openly sharing
With each other
Giving freely
Sharing freely
Everything
We have
Leaving behind
Our Give me this
And Give me that
Mentality behind
A dream, time unspecified-
desires descend to my thought,
standing on the side lines,
avoiding the cacophony of the crowd,
excited about her finesse,
I watch her waltz,
                                 oh! those gliding steps!
On the pool of light, round and round
she circles like an angel possessed,
"Today she sets foot on the next step,
to the future.Years sit on her shoulders
gentle.See her beaming, an oil lamp!"

Tomorrow is waiting outside  this hall,
with bated breath, I am aware,
The cheering crowd's cynosure she is,
their eyes, butterflies, flutter around her,
then my eyes catch this, none else did, I am sure,
a drop of sweat, doused in her fragrance,
a diamond, finely chiselled it looked to me,
glitters on her chin, such a lovely sight,

Her partner in waltz just doesn't notice.
And I thought,"My God! she is gorgeous"
And it falls, the diamond, though so far,
I extend my hand and grab it, what a magic-
I share with her?
Somethings make you think.
Just for the things people say.
When you ask will you respect me in the morning.
Exactly, what are you asking?
And why?
If I'm not respecting you now.
And we about to go there.
It makes me wonder.
It makes me ponder.

Will you still love me tomorrow?
Well, what about today?
Did something happen to make you ask?
Love shouldn't have these many questions.

Will you stand by me?
As I stand by you.
I see many people leave.
When ill health comes to you.
This for better or worse is often spoken.
But in this world of life.
There are many hearts that's broken.

Love has too many consequences.
It makes you think if it's something worth chasing.
So, will you be there at the end?
Or similar to a leaf blowing in the wind.
Don't walk,
protected
by shadows
wearing masks,
                         when streaming light,
                         gleaming sword drawn,
                         comes to annihilate,
                                                          evil shadows
                                                          with vengeance;
                                                                                     *where would you hide?

A man lost his wife with the plague at its worst
She died in the night while she slept
Everything was burned the very next morning
Except for the feather that he kept

The feather was found on the bed where she lay
Lost from her down pillow's tear
They told him the feather had come from a goose
But he knew that an angel was there

He carried that feather all through the town
Showing it to anyone who'd look
He'd tell them the story about the angel who came
And his wife was the one that they took

Again, they told him that it came from a goose
But it was something he wouldn't believe
So they finally decided they'd leave him alone
For they thought that he needed to grieve

He carried that feather for the rest of his life
'Til one day they found the man dead
He died in his sleep with the feather in his hand
With another one found on his bed

Ellie
You are perfect with your imperfections,
You are the one I want to be.
You make me aspire to do things,
You are a role - model for me.

You are kind, you are smart,
You're lovable and free.
It seems you've unlocked the door to perfection,
Please can I borrow the key?

Not only only that, but you have been blessed with looks,
And a heart as pure as the sea.
I love you for being you,
But I despise you for being better than me.

I think you are wonderful - don't get me wrong,
I am just being a pain in the knee.
Don't worry your flawless perfect face,
It is just me being me.

This is what I thought of you,
Until I could see...
That you have problems too,
Just like everyone - and me.

This has taught me not to judge,
Where as I am now able to see.
I am no longer blind in stubbornness,
So thankyou for being patient with me.
For Maegan. Thankyou for being you. I can't describe it, but it is impossible for me to be mad around you. You make me feel like all my worries have been washed away. I really treasure our friendship.
