I looked into the eyes of an eagle
on my holiday.
Overwhelmed was I
by his awesome strength and beauty.
So full of power and majesty.

What a magnificent creature
is the bald eagle I see.
On the bare branch before me.
He is so close that it takes my breath away.
Such beauty.
Such power and majesty.
Perched triumphantly on the tall stump
before the mighty mountain.
Breathtaking.
Majestic.
Beautiful.
Glorious.
A glimpse of God's glory.

I looked into the eyes of an eagle
on my holiday.
A lifelong dream has been fulfilled for me.
So full of power and majesty.

And then...
he flies away.
I hear the ****** of his gigantic wings.
I.
am.
undone.
Glory.
Glory.
Glorious eagle.
Full of power and majesty.

If you were a book
I would grasp you with each hand
As I sink into each page -
Your poetic quicksand.
If you were a book -
My favorite book of all -
After years of gazing into you,
Your words would still enthrall.
When your binding is undone
And your cover slightly torn,
You would be just as lovely
With your pages touched and worn.
If you were a book,
I would hold you close all night.
I could read you without words;
I could read you without light.

I raise up my hands to heaven
and say to God,
"Pick me up
Embrace me
Love me"
But then I shrink back
and I insist
that God must be hurt
by my exposed, broken shards

"I am not whole,
and not huggable
My pain is like thorns
that cut and inflict"
And so I look away with remorse

But God answers me
as only He can do, saying,
"Then we have a lot in common
Or did you forget the cross?
My Son on it?
Jesus, who was the most
broken of all"

I agree that I do...
I must!
But still...

"A nail in a hand
A wreath of thorns for a crown
He died quite damaged
for those like you
Yet was I not there to embrace Him
and welcome Him home?"

In spite of my tears, I reason
My mind and heart agree
So my Father and I embrace
and I accepted God's grace

South-by-Southwest
The little girl
wearing a Navy blue dress
with a white collar
and black patton shoes
holds a red
helium balloon
as she walks down a path of clouds
through the vast wilderness
of space and time
representing life on overtime
a second home on a lake
a souring career
living with a man she is married to
but doesn't love anymore
and may never have
sings the song
"Twinkle Twinkle , Little Star"
and she is wondering
just how far
Window view.
From a plane.
Flying through rain clouds.
It's bumpy
and nerve-wracking.
And I feel uncertain
and afraid.
Just like I feel in the storms of life.

But then..
I wait.
I trust.
I take God's hand.
And after awhile,
I see blue sky on the horizon.
Before too long...
I am flying
above the storm.
In blue sky.
A smoother ride.

Is there a blue sky on the horizon?
Are joy and new beginnings
soon to come in my life?

I hold God's hand.
He takes me above the storm.
Rain clouds turn into
white billowing ones.
And then...
and then...
we soar
into
blue sky.
Where joy and peace shall reign.
In place of the storm that has been.

Life is ours to create,
to complain or celebrate,
reject the silence and the wait,
make things happen
in spite of fate.

Today I criticized someone
about something
they had said or done,
and their character
that seemed to be
of content that
did not agree
with right and good
that I could see,
but then I turned around
to find
that those same traits
resembled mine,
yours truly
that's right
me.

Running away
An eternal struggle
Fighting against suppressed feelings
Feeling displaced
Located in a world of my own
A world so strange...
I don't belong here...

I'm just a misfit
Branded by society
Trapped by my own peculiarity
Free to imagination...

Comes and goes like the mist
So I'm determined to do more
Than just exist
