A Psalmist
Tomorrow was once an ocean away
Full of solemn waves and dismal tides
My insides craved for that day
When I would find a way
To hoist up my anchor of pride.
My inability to navigate the noise
Of the ebb and flow of loneliness
Was keeping me down
With my hope keeping me afloat.
How was I, an empty vessel,
to cross the complacent-sea with out a boat?
Honestly, it was an atrocity
Thought would only be solved by generosity.
I couldn't sail beneath the stars
With out any compass-ion: yours.
You made the hollow tides shift
And helped me complete my trip
All on the best ship
Friendship.

Did you see them take the green fields
one by one, now line by line on hills in echelon?

Still, holding ground held holy by their sons;
no longer marching to the smoke and drum.

Where bugler called the day to final rest,
now silence grows like lichen on the stones.

For those who gave their all at our behest,
our memories alone will not atone.

Do you see the fires burning at a distance,
and more hallowed ground broken day by day?

Each new stone laid a fading reminiscence;
each new boquet soon fading into gray.

What better way to honor sacrifice
than to pause and speak their names aloud.

Until the gods of war are pacified;
until our flag no longer serves as shroud.
In memory of those who gave their all.

can expectations sincerely die
without burying past affections?
where dangling, unfulfilled promises
smother passion's breath,
what is left of hope for the bereft?
only to grow by lessons given
and to graciously let go
of the ones we have forgiven

The ladder that
I had in mind
did not look too
hard to climb.
and as I ventured
upward bound
seeking what's on
higher ground,
leaving everything
below,
all that I had come to know,
I heard the voice
of God proclaim
that love will
always stay
the same,
and heaven is
a place that's higher
where peace has
lit eternal fire,
but love is love
and can be found
anywhere
and is not bound
by space or time
or life or death,
and must be shared
as life's sweet breath,
so as the heavens
serenade
I saw that if
on earth I stayed
the love in every heart
I find
is closer than
a ladder climb.

My soaring heart
stays not on earth,
heaven bound
in death and birth,
grace, mercy,
and glory be
lift my heart
outside of me
above emotions
of the day
to the place
where hearts
should stay.

Get rhythm when you get the blues
Shout aloud true gospel tunes
Open the window
Look outside
Give all the darkness no place to hide
Listen to the birds
Borrow their song
Ride the easy notes to get you along

Within the centre of your being
May you find peace
Every act of unconditional love
Echoes in eternity
Spread your wings and dance
Dreams into reality
If your situation  won't change
Then change yourself
The optimist is often as wrong
As the pessimist
But he is far far happier
Choose happiness

You fail
Or
You succeed

From each
You will learn
Something
You need

Some that have
And those that don’t
Both live
Upon this earth

But, it’s what they do
And what they don’t
That really
Proves their worth

Might there be a fountain
where souls long dead from thirst
find spirits raised to life in floods abounding free,
so that what once walked as corpse,
night-bound and blind, may see?
Old self exchanged for Treasure,
diving in tastes such rejuvenation
as can't be weighed by mortal measure—
wine unlike our earth-grown fruit whose petals fall,
from this Vine flowers the pleasantness of Love Divine
which bathes in healing waters all
who come as humble newborn with bold **** to dine.
"Jesus answered, 'Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.'"  John 4:13-14

"Then Jesus declared, 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry, and he who believes in Me will never be thirsty.'"  John 6:35

"On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, 'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.'"  John 7:37-38

"'I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.'"  John 15:5
