Dear God,
Scare me today
Scare me tomorrow,
Take my soul
And let go this sorrow.
Then fill me up
with a brave new light,
with a stronger hope
and a stronger might,
Put me in the darkest night
and give me a final
battle to fight!
A light touch
That leaves a trail
Down my spine

A sweet kiss
On my neck that
Brings me to life

An exchanged look
That ignites passion
In my soul

A sigh from your
Mouth that gives
Me air to breath

A whispered promise
That you'll never leave

All of those things and more
Always bring me back to you...

I was naive
I admit it.

But when I was with him
A sweet aroma would surround
And encapsulate us.

As I sit here typing now
All I can taste is a bittersweet memory
Dancing on my tongue.

And I swallow it whole
As I do my pride
Whenever he's around.
sorrow like a garden grows,
around my feet
and
      through
                  my
                        toes.

As always, thank you for reading my work. I like the idea of the 12 and 10w poetry. It is a challenge to get a thought clearly across. I enjoy little rhymes that sort of swim in your head after you've read them.
Up until my insomnia meets me
I lied when I said I forgot
I was scared what you'd think
If I said that  I love you a lot

People have only cared for minutes
Leaving me to care for days
When I look at you all I can think
Is please don't go away

I can see me in your eyes
I dream of dreaming with you
I can trace your scars with mine
My thoughts are bleeding through:

My Talia, I know what it's like to not be seen;
what it's like to be alone in a crowded room.
For you, my star, I want you to know:
that no one shines as bright as you.

I can taste you moving on my skin.
My gasp is air you sustain.
hand in hand, under an umbrella
with you, I am safe.
After our row  .  .  .
In the still night clouds bursting,

i want to kiss her. not because i want to feel the softness of her fair lips or the warmth of her breath as she exhales against me. i want to kiss her because i can’t think of any other way to fully express the beauty that she is. i want her to know that i see her as perfect. that she is perfect.

there were cracks
of lightening
that fell from the sky
like chains
of stars
held together
by electricity

searing the earth
rain beating across
pale skin
dark skin
no skin
the minds
under colour
cursing
one another

we have choice
and there is still
no freedom
from the oppression
we have been forced
to create
There's to much in life going on
Leaving me out in the cold
With my winter wear tattered and torn
The days of my youth have been sold

At times leaves me out of breath
Purchasing more of nothing less
So I search the world for the girl
Who knows what's coming next

I look out expectantly
Gazing off into the East
Not knowing when or what I will see
But it's the East that's in front of me

I take the less beaten path
Straying neither to the right nor the left
As I search the world for the girl
Who knows what's coming next

Stepping into little fanfare
With a life that's going nowhere
As if I really care
I think I'm already there

Shrugging it all off with a laugh
I've been in thicker a mess
As I continue to search the world for the girl
Who knows what's coming next
