dear jared,
today, i realised that i loved a boy
who wasn't you.
my time with you taught me to be patient,
despite many people who teach such themselves
are not.

his name is jake;
a humble, intellectual individual
without anything rude to ever say.
he's got neat but long, golden hair
and he's almost 6'2.
his voice is low-scale, but gentle.

i've never thought so much about kissing someone
things are going so fast and i think im finally getting better

Long Sleeves.
Always long sleeves.
Even the summer.

Who here gets it?
It doesn't mean you're "just cold".
repost if you get it.

when you break the heart of one who loves you
you destroy the home in which you were living

amidst the rubble and the dirt,
the eyes water and sting
from the dust

Rebuilding takes time,
and a resilient will,
because the foundation has to be made stronger,
more authentic..
marble and ceramic and crystal chandeliers
to catch the light

and you are no longer a welcomed guest

and we asked you for help
and you laughed at the candor
and we dropped dead like flies.

****** t-shirts falling from
clothing lines as clothing pins
litter the floor of the morgue

and parents pick out caskets
ten sizes too small, for dead
babies and children of the

night, the ones who had been hanging
from street lights and shooting stars,
who asked for help in the form

of loud music, slow dancing,
painting in dark colors, tying
red balloons to doorknobs,

and leaving home without layers.
these children, they’re wearing t-shirts
in late december and you’re

wondering why they’re shivering.
in the mean time, you turn your cheek
and lift the zipper of your fur coats.
a metaphor for suicide
