So many misinterpreted metaphors
make me cringe
''are you trying to ruin poetry for everyone''
but I hide my damp eyes behind my fringe
because I mustn't argue and my teachers are never wrong
They sing without a meaning or lyric in their song
we are taught to write what they want to hear
not the truth we feel inside our hopes and fears

But i must turn the other cheek
to get my degree I need..when home I ponder, I weep
because it was the school that killed poetry
for many of my peers..
But all is not lost..wipe away those tears
Grab the pen that feels ethical
the paper that doesn't deceive, doesn't lie
and write a poem that you can feel
you'll get out of school alive
(You know who you are who started this haha!)..Don't get me wrong I love teachers in general..I plan on becoming an awesome one someday too :)

Our friendship to me will always be
A Lighthouse standing strong
No matter how rough life's seas
Together we'll weather any storm
How ever far our travels take us
This friendship light will always shine
As it has from the beginning
Until the very end of time
I have an artist friend that painted a lighthouse picture for another friend for Christmas and I was honored when she asked if I could write a poem to go along with it.

Here are some things I know:
2+2 is always 4, in the center of an apple lies the core.
One foot is left and the other is right, you need lots of wind to fly a kite.
Puppies are soft and the earth moves slow, red means stop and green means go.
Clouds are white, the sky is blue, and I am absolutely, completely, in love with you.
Here is a happy poem for a change :) oh, and it rhymes.

You can't give love
only to take it back
but I swallow words
like pills these days

and the side affects
have no warning label
and overdosing is
too often fatal
... eat other peoples
poetry then

***** all over the page.

"I love you"*
The words that no one wants to say too early.
The words that no one wants to say too late.
The words that everyone wants to say eventually.
Her words are ripened fruit,
Each a perfect, poignant peach
For trembling hands to reach.

Stroking first the pink flesh text,
Slowly, oh so slowly,
Relishing delicious words.

He takes a bite, sinks a slavering tongue
into creative juices,
Beginning, middle, please don't end,
He reads her with his mouth.
Please read 'Read ****** Write', I'm experimenting with different points of view.
