The world of poetry is a vast canvas
Where we look for the right colors
To paint the vivid pictures every time
So many hues mix with our emotions
And the heart goes crazy in the wilderness
So much to paint, yet so little time
Like the wild breeze gathering inspiration
Not only from this celestial space, but beyond
With the hope that our words embrace all
Thus is birthed a poem and from the poet
The ink that once paints the picture
Remains etched on the heart and soul, forever

When you reach a cross road
Try to carve out a new path
No one has ever dreamt about
For it’s your journey, and the choice is yours
You may be a lonely traveler
After sometime you will drive the destiny car
We may all come across crossroads
But we nevertheless give a **** about it

The lights are fended off
By the iron curtains
Everything becomes brittle
On the verge of breakdown
The last will to stand up
Is robbed by the tyranny
Hope is an oasis
In the midst of the desert

Sleepwalking through life
as if it were a dream
subtle consciousness
and reality eludes
memory is on a hiatus
we try to wake up
and start searching
for the unknown
- that is reality

Blinded by the bright lights
Darkness seemed more welcoming
Path leading to cul-de-sac

It’s a sorry sight to see all mayhem
Kindness is in slumber
For those who are awake in madness
And conscience is a loser
For the rogues revel in atrocities

The tumultuous words
Created waves of misery
Flooding vast areas of life
Hope failed to stay afloat

When you have traveled so far
From yourself, it is difficult to retrace
The steps which connect you to the roots
You live everywhere, but within you
Weary steps take you to unknown destinations
When the branches have dried up
Leaving you exposed to the harsh sun
The dried trunk becomes a load too heavy
Carrying the burden all along
A lonely traveler, bereft of the soul
Losing yourself in the midst of nowhere

When you are surrounded by silence
And you enjoy it more than words
There is a chance you are delving within
A journey which we always abhor
Giving us a self- realization, a test for us
Either the silence disturbs you or calms you
Journey of life is always inside out
Knowing yourself, you can face the world
A confidence wrapped in the beauty of silence
No matter how tough the journey
Coming face to face with the inner-self
Take the plunge, and the silence will cushion you
Self-realization is a revelation, of the real you
If you can face the truth, you can absorb all cacophony
Of the real buzzing world, yet silence will guide you
To the right destination and will earn you good karma
Nothing will be by-chance anymore, for you are sure
In silence, you can hear the more subtle voices and warnings
Let silence surround you

On a solitary branch
Yellow bird is perched
Preening herself with care
Singing to her mate
Waiting for him eagerly
Looking for appreciation
For her beauty
Two yellow birds on a branch
Perfectly matched

In my dream, I woke up
    *To confront reality

Oblivious to the unseen
Minds’ cannot perceive
Only the quiet soul can seek
Strong belief in the heart
Maybe an abode of Eternity
Is waiting to shelter us
Seek in the Sun’s brightness
Listen to the wind’s message
Look for clues in night’s silence
In the ways of animal kingdom
Occasions in changing seasons
Clues in the natural disasters
Leading us to a path unseen
Where, stands an abode of Eternity

Person ahead of the times is delayed of recognition

In sea of contradictions you have to swim across with your convictions

Unaware of the music within
Rarely dancing to its rhythm
An outsider pulls the wrong chords
Making us dance to their discordant tunes
Becoming mere puppets, with strings attached
Unable to play the right notes
Our music relegating to the subconscious
Drowning among the loud beats
The hand of the stranger plays along
Touching all the wrong notes
Music, not close to the heart
Life is taken over by the estranged notes
Till then the subconscious waits in agony
Waiting for the moment to be in limelight
And hoping to become the music conductor
Playing the right notes and dancing to the right tunes

The fire of passionate love game burns them to ashes
Yet they rise like the phoenix, reborn with more love
They are juxtaposed- the svelte and the sinewy
Exhausted, they melt into each other’s arm
Entwined with the fate of each other
As love has cast a spell on both
As they have transitioned to the passage of infinite love

When you don’t feel the ground
Beneath your feet
Walking through air
And feeling light as the wind
The feeling of euphoria
Gliding though the subtle layers
Feet finally released
From the clutches that held you
Making you feel heavy
Clearly, holding you firm
Pulling you towards the nadir
Restricting you
To tread on the same path
Where so many walked before
Now, the soul feels free
As you glide
With languid elegance
You are revealed so much
Which you had not known

After the twilight paves way for night
The grim uncertainties raise their tentacles
Waiting to grasp the oblivious heart
Unaware, the soul molds into the dark caverns
Causing agony to the unattended
The hand of the messiah can’t reach
To pull out of the rut, the soul so mangled
Yet, the dawn brings fresh hope the next day
Day full of sunshine illuminates the deepest caverns
Giving hope to even the most troubled souls
Redemption comes with the light kindled in heart

When the landscape turned blurry
And the screaming eyes wanted help
Blinding wind raged across the streets
Famished bipeds drifting off course
Maimed souls searching for cover
Darkness became safe haven
Drained from the arduous trek for long
Attempt to speak the truth, gagged
Fools have created a web lies
Like unaware insects, caught unaware
Detained in the middle of huge mountains
Every will to escape is vanquished
The juices of willpower being ****** away
Hearts have turned to stone
Moulds have made their home
With glib talk everyone has been cheated
Away from the sunshine and hope
To the land of desolation and misery
In the land of apathy, they thrived

Blank pages are embellished
with eloquent words
caressing the pages
with indelible ink

If you want to be heard
      *Listen

In front of the mirror
Talk with the alter ego
Always with you
But the mirror mirrors it
Projecting the soul
Being very candid
Unnerving at times
Is that what you are?
Emulating your thoughts
Entrenched deep within
At some corner of your heart
The mirroring mimicry
Of you, via the alter ego
Leaving you naked and exposed
The psychological drama unfurls
Comprehending your psyche
Are you caught unaware?
By the awareness of the mirror
Inadvertently, we mirror our thoughts
Are you ready to face yourself?
It’s the toughest of all battles
So, hold some positive thoughts
As the mirror can proclaim you the fairest of them all

Life is hectic, don't forget to breathe

Pause, to accelerate growth
Travel gets awry at breakneck speed
Why do we believe life is a race?
Patience is not inaction
As we confuse action with growth
Pause at the right moment
And accelerate at the right pace
Enjoy the trip, with the lovely view
Keep an eye on your destination
You will reach on time

When all the words lose their meaning
Only there are meaningless gestures
Fervently trying to make up for the loss
The body language gives off a paradoxical signal
And the soul is disjointed from the shell
Leaving speechless, for words have revolted
Futile attempts to convince the other
When nothing is in sync anymore
Syllables, dialogues, monologues fall on deaf ears
Speak from the heart and soul
And let not precious words lose their relevance

The very beginning seemed to be an end
Never realizing, standing on shaky ground
They built an abode, destined to fall
Not even the four walls could protect
Hearts developed rifts with differences
Crumbled like sand castles, swept away by tears

Four hands built the sand castle
Breaking waves wash away the shores
Brief moments of happiness

When your thoughts are free
Independent of the outside world
When it does not clash with words
Of the so commonly spoken
For you have found you own to ponder
And language transcends invisible boundaries
Where your vision goes beyond
To the world where there is responsibility
And courage is in dealing with freedom
Where the heart beats freely
Deep within, the soul revels in peace
Believing, there’s nothing holding you back
Let freedom take wings
And take this message everywhere

Reflections of calmness and turbulence,
Mirroring the phases of life with clarity
Flowing along streams, rivers, creeks and oceans-
Carrying along with it, the folklore of humanity,
Sometimes muddy and crystal clear in other places.
Shallow at times and somewhere unexplored depths;
Calm and flowing with ease; whereas strong undercurrents,
Also, threatening to wash away the natural habitat;
The duality of the calm and fury unfathomed-
The very essence of life can wreak havoc for humanity,
Its fluidity can take the shape of the vessel it’s in
Making way for travelers in ships, and also drowning them;
Its depths thriving with millions of forms of life,
Also can become a grave for the same life on earth;
Never have we been able to tame it or understand,
Sometimes icy cold and sometimes boiling with rage,
It has the power to even wear away the strongest of barriers;
It’s in being fluid that lies the strength to endure everything,
Embrace and resist all the challenges of life with fluidity.
Traverse the ups and downs that life has to offer,
Make it the confluence of all the experiences good and bad;
Wash away the barriers along the way with the undercurrents,
As your strength lies in the fluidic course that you choose.

With the crimson ink from the bleeding heart
The fingers dipped into it to write a memoir
Indelible will be the saga, etched in memory forever
No malice towards each other, but only gripping pain
But with the crimson hues, the love story gets a fitting adieu

It’s been a thousand years,
Of solitude, with many tears;
Oft recurring the moments,
This has the mind in torments;
Peeping through the veil of time,
Spoken words are rare, just mime;
The splinters from the fire of passion,
Has burnt down the taffeta in ugly fashion;
Two souls smeared with the exuberance,
Yet there is some element of cumbrance;
Unable to delve deeper unto each other,
An uneasiness which causes a bother;
Wailing in despair and still holding on,
Also, trying to kindle a fire with the magic potion.
The scratches on the skins seems to heal,
Still the lovers are apart, because of a sinister deal;
Yet, the passionate souls resurrect after thousand years.
As both the souls of the lovers unite, to ward off the fears;
Unite will they and no might can keep them apart,
With all might the lovers fight, and force the enemies to depart;
An after a thousand years, the lovers unite one more time.
Healed by the power of passionate love and again in their prime.

So many thoughts flashing before my eyes,
So many ideas hovering inside my head,
Neurons and synapses reacting with lightning speed-
Fleeting moments of euphoric and neutral moments,
The subconscious is not subjugated anymore,
Taken over by the series of parallel journey of thoughts;
Never wanting to meet, but not willing to end either,
The powerful laboratory where ideas are experimented with,
Thoughts seem to travel faster than lightning speed,
Not able to grasp the roller coaster ride with upheavals;
Holding onto the norms and the usual dogmas for semblance,
But time has come for the cataclysmic events to occur,
As if to break the shackles of the mundane and the regular;
Unadulterated by the infusions from the external ideas,
The experimented thoughts have matured to a new level;
The time has come to dislodge the ages of darkness,
Where the mind thinks without the fear of being reprimanded…

Staring at the blank sky
When there is no action
Abandoned by birds
And not a speck of cloud
Rare moments
When sky is lonely
Is that the time
When gates are opened
For my thoughts to enter
Beyond
No one comes between us
Only the silence
That shrouds me
Suddenly a whiff of wind
Making its presence felt
Yes, I am alive
Stirs my senses
My eyes transfixed
As my soul interacts
In an unknown language
Never before I spoke
I try to lend my ears
Mesmerized by the melody
Heart feels alive
What flown within me
Wakes me up
As I still stare at the sky

All the while I am awake
At night contemplating
As my soul lays supine
Confounded by darkness
Waiting for spark to ignite
Doused by the long winter
Taking shelter in a cave
To keep myself warm
Unable to find my way out
My guide has left me here
Trying to find my way
In the prolonged darkness
Waiting for dawn within
To find my way home

When things are kept simple
Lot many are confounded
Maybe, simple is not so easy

What we know is much less than what is waiting to be known

When you have walked too far
And reached the edge of the world
Realizing, you have come beyond
Where the unknown waves to you
Away from the slippery ground
Now you have found a footing
To take the next step towards unknown
No way to explain the feeling
Only the heart knew it all along

Dragging the feet along the street
Every walk scraped off the will
Weathered many storms for long
Walked towards the same destination
Knocked on the door for a reply
Greeted by resounding silence
Finally, the street got wary of him
Sidelined along the pavement

The beads of illusions
Were strung together
To garland the futility
Bound by it strongly
Everything is fine
Till illusions run deep

It’s colorful of all the seasons,
Rejoice for many reasons;
Get drenched in bright colors,
The rhythm of nature has wonders,
Dance to its tunes in ecstasy;
Create a world with humane fantasy,
The time to turn dreams to reality,
Rise above all hurdles and frailty;
Let the vivid colors of spring blossom,
As a painter, add some colors to the macrocosm.

Whisper to the winds
Breathe words in it
Enthuse the moment
Before it takes off
Through the winding path
Mountains, seas, woods
Valleys and deserts
Message will travel far
Beyond your vision
You will be heard
Your words shall speak
Stories of your heart
Beyond the realm
Your world is infinite
You words shall travel
With the wind

I will stealthily come
To steal, the treasure in your eyes
Ready to surrender to you, for my crime
And willingly serve a life sentence*

The words that resonate with sarcasm
Ambushed by the hands of hatred
Taken away to a desolate place
They are dumped there in oblivion
The inner fire of self pity
Boils the cauldron within

You are not going to get everything
And you know this is the truth
Whatever you have is your treasure
Don’t destroy what you have
Anticipating piling on more
Till you realize it’s too late
And whatever you have are crushed beneath
Treasure will have tuned into rubble
It‘s not about everything
But be happy for what you already have

Each step that you take
Walking away from the past
Tread the path where love resides
And garden where flowers bloom
Trust the call of the soul
Towards the direction of fresh breeze
As it will direct you towards safe haven
