There was only the silence of words unspoken swimming in her tears and he understood every word as they hung like little black stars in the dark and as he pulled them down one by one to help ease her pain their sharp edges cut his fingers and through his bones and seeped into his soul and mixed with his own familiar aches and he knew he was falling alone and that in the end he would be only find disappointed and still all he could do was comfort her until the storm and darkness passed and she would find her hearts beauty again and be whole on her own and find her own ambitions and reason to smile and it would not be his fate for anything but to only be quietly in love and when her day to fly back into the world came he would then be surrounded by the silence of his words unspoken that swam in the tears she would never see him shed and he would still be falling and still be in love and would still find her his reason to dream and smile

midnight ballet of dreams
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
She appeared flawless like a midnight ballet of dreams and he dreamt of her laughter felling the years ahead and he dreamt of the joy of children growing in her belly and the glow she would have those nine months and his heart ran wild and fast and it painted dream after endless dream of her beauty and spun tale after tale of her kindness and magic and he wondered how he loved anyone before and how could love ever be as perfect as he now felt it and it was all just a dream and a hope of things he never expected to happen or to come true and he didn't need any of them to because he had already done the most beautifully perfect thing he could do by falling impossibly and flawlessly and madly in love with her

where butterflies do roam
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
Where the butterflies do roam my love will surely go
My heart forever young has yet to age
Though it lives within old bones covered by scared and weathered skin
And your hair is full of lightning violet dreams and all those pretty things
And though I could not breath or speak as you stood so close
I could hear a storm of butterflies beating within your chest
My lungs still filled with warmth that I only knew from love
And I would have looked away but that would not have changed my fate
For my heart had already left to fly among the wings circling your heart
and my love has gone to burn among where butterflies do roam

the suicide of love
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
You are my floating hope of a last dream and the one bullet final shot at love or suicide
You are the perfect dream to save the last of my days and I'm just a dream away from dying
You are everything I've lost to love and every word I've prayed to find it once again
And in all the world of excuses and doubts and fears I cannot find one large enough to hide behind
And I find myself standing naked and exposed and the feeling that this isn't me but somehow this is the way I'm suppose to be
And maybe its all bad timing or simple coincidence or maybe it is my last rites of fate
And I don't know if I'm falling up or burning down and my hands tremble everytime my heart beats out your name and its not that I doubt the way I feel because its a feeling I know all too well and it comes from the burning flight of butterflies and the deep echo laughter of madmen wearing hats and its the crown on the head of the queen of the blind that leads fools to their last kingdom of paradise and love
And yet I can't help but feel to reveal the truth will only cause the suicide of love

echoing in his heart
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
All he wanted to do was write love letters in the sand and then send them out to sea where they would by carried by the waves and the tides and then have them float up into the night where the stars would read them to the soft spots of the pink ribbons tied around her dreams and he walked and wondered through the shores of eternity at the edge of where all the oceans end and only love stories held by the promise of forever are told and on every grain of sand he engraved her name and in the mist of the falling waves he could feel the wonder of her heart press and cling to the marrow of his soul and he felt the magic that lived in the deep blue pools of her eyes spread through his pulse and mix with his blood and he was helpless as it infected his every cell and his every dream and he was terrified and thrilled and he wanted to run and he wanted to stay even more and he saw the rest of his possible life in perfect clarity and she had stumbled into his life and rearranged the shattered pieces of his heart and made it into something more beautiful than it had ever been before and it looked and felt as if it had never been broken even once and there was no trace of its many scars and his heart had never beat and drum as loud as it did when dreaming of the love it wanted to share with her and he wished he could find the courage to write her a love letter made out of the sand and the sea and the magic of the shores found in the eternity of her eyes and take her by the hand and float her up to the night and the stars above where all the oceans end and then read her his letter inked by the promises of forever and then look up to see if she had stayed or if like a dream to good to be true would he wake up and watch her slowly fade away to the memory of lost hopes and he wandered through his doubts and fears and made a pen out of his dreams and began to write the letter begining with her name followed by the three words he first heard echoing in his heart the first night she stumbled into his life

Poets and painters and writers and dancers and those who have art fall from their dreams through their hands and into something real in this world fall a little faster and give a little more and feel a little deeper because they have the same love that is born in the heart of dreams of flawless magic and perfect wonder and they know the value of our human imperfections and the beauty hiding in our flaws and they love long past our failures and their broken hearts keep loving us even after our goodbyes and our cruelty and mistreatment and they do more than belive in magic but keep magic alive and spin more threads into its blanket that keep our lives warm and they give without asking for anything in return and they comfort our sorrows and find our hands to hold in the dark and they take out sad stories and turn tears into dreams and dreams into stars and place those stars in the sky and they show us that magic is something wonderfully real if all we do is belive and pull these thing from our dreams and into our hands and it is a mad cat wearing a hat that smiles and purrs from our hearts and it is the most simple and complex and most beautiful part of living that makes life worth it all in the end and its at the end of the colors of every paint brush and every drop of ink from a quil and in every note of a song and every rhythm and rhyme and every leap taken and every word spoken on a stage and like life art would have no meaning without it and it comes to us from the birth place of dreams and it is as real as forever if we all just belive and its really that easy which isn't easy at all but we must never stop trying when we have found and we have fallen and been lucky enough to found ourselves blessed with its presence and that is of course my kind friend the magic and wonder of love

only magic could explain
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
Today wouldn't be the same without you... I wouldn't have woken up with a stupid smile on my face or a bunch of cheesy love songs competing for the spot to repeat themselves over and over again in my head and maybe I would have slept a little longer but I wouldn't have slept as well and I wouldn't look forward to the time passing through this day if it wasn't because I know you just exist and it's a little strange and a little weird but you have lifted the weight of life without doing anything at all but saying goodmorning or goodnight from time to time and you have opened doors and found the secret corners I usually keep hidden and out of anyones view and I'm usually more terrified when I start to feel or care this way but there's something in the air and kindness of your voice that makes me feel comfortable and safe and I can't explain any of it without turning to the belief of magic or fate or writing bad poetry and leaving it somewhere you might find to read and I've been torn between wanting to say nothing or too much but in the end the thing I want most is just to tell you life isn't always easy and it might not even get easier but it is going to be ok and there is more I want to say but I can wait and promise I won't go anywhere before this storm has passed and I'll be here long after too because life like today wouldn't be the same if I hadn't stumbled into the knowledge that you are out there and you exist and that has made the difference only magic could explain

his heart already knew
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
It was a little strange and a little weird but he knew right away if he found out more than her name he would fall deeply and madly in love and he shyly sat and ordered something to eat and was happy enough to spend an hour with the magic and eternity that swirled and danced within the blue heaven of her eyes and he almost did but didn't ask for a little more of her time and he thought well that was that and wasn't it nice to almost fall in love with a beautiful young lady who walked with the grace and kindness of a dream and little did he knew at the time that he wasn't off the hook and that fate had more to say and do and she wasn't simple going to vanish like a well behaved dream and the months did pass as plain and boring as was the norm except for the small moments his heart remembered the tattoo on her arm and he regretted just a little that he didn't say or ask her anything at all and he sighed and remembered how nice the simplicity of that night had been and life passed again with brief moments of misery or boredom or nothing but plain old plain and he was happy enough to have what he had and it was a dull life but he enjoyed it and felt it was a good life and that when the time to go he would have a good death and he would die and that was that and he didn't need anything more... and then fate with its mischievous grin pulled a trip wire and he stumbled and fell and somewhere and somehow along the way down he found out more than her name and that's how he found out exactly what it felt like to fall in love with a dream who walked with kindness and grace of this beautiful young lady whose name his heart already knew

ridiculous and foolish
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
She moved into his heart without a word or a sound or a breath inbetween the moment their two hearts fell in sync and he fell in love with her before she could speak her name and time stopped and tattooed her image on the skin of his heart perfect in every detail from the blue heaven magic in her eyes and the soft pink clouds of dreams in every strand of her hair and every word of the perfect fairy tale told by the rhythm of her heart and it felt like crazy and madness and hatters and grinning cats and impossible and illogical all rolled into one and he found her beautiful and pretty and adorable and **** and cute and everything all at once and it wasn't from a desire to know the flavors of her kiss or to spend nights taking off her clothes or discovering what it would feel like if their two bodies tangled and entwined in lustful sin but it was in the way her smile had faultless curves and the kind and gentle wonder dancing softly in her eyes and the sound of music in the silence and the colors of her hair and it was the sudden desire to spend the rest of his life finding ways to make her laugh and to be there to catch her every tear and turn each one into a dream and to hold onto her through anytime life was just too much to bare and tell her it was all going to be ok and it was sudden and overwhelming and he no longer could take a breath without feeling his love for her grow more wild and uncontrolled and he knew he was giving into the madness only true love could ever possibly dream of and he knew he had no choice and he knew that if he never won her heart and she never felt the same it wouldn't change a thing and he would still want to spend his life giving his every heart beat to her name and the very soul of all his love to her if just from time to time he had the chance to do anything at all just to cause the flawless contours of her lips that let him know she felt true happiness in her heart and just that alone would be the story of the perfect life he would want to read as he spent his last moments on deaths bed and his heart smiled at the thought and the dream of something more or something less and he knew his life would never be the same before he even heard the last syllable of her name and as the last line and piece of color of her was stiched to the blood within his heart time took a deep breath and sighed and then moved again and eternity and forever burned into the moment to mark the last footsteps he had taken before he found the edge and jumped head first straight into the ridiculous and foolish heart of love

broken and lost pieces
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
The broken pieces of her heart fit perfectly into the holes left behind from the lost pieces of his and everything suddenly felt right and good and it was as if they had always shared the same heart and always known the curves of the others smile and they knew were the other one held the secret kiss they had been hiding and keeping safe until they met the one they had not known was waiting for them somewhere in the stars and over the rainbow and in the deepest lost seas of love where they would both be drowning and ready for the sweet silence of the abyss when suddenly and unexpectedly that kiss would fill their lungs with something more than air and they would not remember a time they had not known or loved one another  impossibly and madly with the one heart made from the broken and lost pieces of two

We're living in a world of tragic mistakes and the corrupt and the greedy and the hateful are closing in and they are receiving thunderous applause form the sheep who can't smell their own slaughter and its the same story of the poor getting poorer as the fat get fatter and fatter with pockets stained with blood and lined with gold and if there's a god what must he think as we shelter hate and **** on love and I look to the stars and pray don't let me be human and cry out please let me come home

Akira Chinen Feb 2017
I will be here for you whenever you need and I will be whatever you need and you never need fear that you are alone and if it is silence or solitude that you seek I will be quite and I will be still and my hand will be waiting if you need it to hold in the dark and if it is shelter you seek from the storm you can use my bones and my blood to build a house and a home and my heart will be kindling to keep your fires burning against the clouds full of lightning and thunder and rain and if you fear drowning from the tears that won't stop you can hollow out my marrow and I'll be the boat and the ship until your flood has lost all its rage and if it is a comfort that you need I will carve the kind words that you seek into the stars up above and if it is an audience you need to let out your anger and screams I will lend my ears as a hall to listen and watch your time on the stage and if all you need is something to eat I will find some cheese and some bread or a feast I will find if your hunger needs more and I will cut out small pieces of me and craft a doll to live in your heart so that no matter how close or how far I will always be with you for whenever and whatever you need

just a dream away
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
And he couldn't remember if she stole his heart or if he had given it away but he did know it was safer in her hands than caged in his chest and he knew that love had never looked or been so beautifully perfect as it was being held in her hands and the good and gentle grace of her smile was the only promise of heaven he needed to belive in and believing in her was the only thing he found value in on the horizon of eternity and he almost worried it was all just a dream and then realized if it wasn't a dream it may as well not be real because only in a dream could he find someone so lovely to hold his bruised and broken heart and make it feel as if it had never been broken before and he knew no matter how long she stayed he would always love her and she would never be more than just a dream away

this is why.
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
This is why we fall in love and this is why we don't and its hard to tell the difference because the lights and shadows look the same and its the things we want to say that terrify us when we're terrified if we don't say them we'll lose the things that make us feel this way and its the silence that hurts the most and its the silence that eases all our pains and we're afraid if we say too much too soon we'll only push the ones we want to hold away and we're afraid if we get to hold the ones we want they will evaporate into nothing more than the dream of a foolish heart and that foolish heart will break and it just feels easier and safer to keep that heart alone and in its cage because it feels like it been bruised and scared and broken too many times and we just don't want to go through that kind of misery again because we've all been in love and we've all been hurt and we've all been excited by the same feeling that also terrifies us and we can try to blame it for all the hurt and ache when we feel that it has left us and betrayed us but the truth is it wouldn't hurt so bad if that were true and life can't be balanced without taking the good with the bad and it isn't always suppose to be easy but the difficult times don't have to be so bad if we can only learn to trust and say it's going to be ok because love is always there and its free for the taking if we just breath it in and fill our lungs and put it all back out there when we say the things that terrify us and when we can give it all for nothing more than the act of giving it all away life gets a little easier and the shadows shift and change and grow smaller and the light reveals the hidden colors and its easier to take the bad when we're trying to do good and it isn't easy to balance but we find the way to work together to get through the difficult days and cold nights and what does our time mean here if not for the time we spend breathing love in and breathing more love out and no heart should live in a cage and this is why we can't stop ourselves when the things that make us fall make us think about why we fall in love and why we don't because we see our hearts are flying fast and free and breathing deep and theres nothing we can do to stop ourselves as once again we our blessed enough to find ourselves falling in love

heart of his dreams
Akira Chinen Feb 2017
She lived in the heart of his dreams and was the reason his soul danced with madness
She carried the beauty of eternity and the perfection of love within the magic of her eyes
As he drifted through the silver and pink and violet streaks of her hair
The thought of her smile warmed the air in his lungs and just imagining holding her hand caused his pulse to race
He would fall in love again every night in the moments between sleep and dreams
But she seemed just out of reach and he was helplessly silent as all he could do was watch his soul dance madly in the heart of his dreams

a little more...
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
Ever since the first night I met you... I knew there was something about you, something that made me want to know a little more...
And I wanted to ask but didn't and my heart sank and disappointed replaced hope and I thought that was that and I wouldn't see you again or have another chance to ask... but then I did and a few times after still but each time  I failed again and doubt filled my head and my heart left without its chance to speak and time and fate did not wait and I thought again you were gone for good and would never know of my hearts ambition to beat for you and only you and I thought that was probably best... and then somehow by chance or fate you introduced your self and voice into my life and still I stayed shy and a little hidden and days moved on and you shared your time and voice and slowly I learned a little more about the something that made me want to know a little more and my shy heart beat a little faster and I found myself falling asleep and waking up with a smile upon my lips as my hearts ambition began to grow for you again...and now that I know a little more about the little more I wanted to ask the first night we met I want you to know about the little more that I think of you every day and the places I imagine you as I dream a little more about the little more... I imagine you sitting on the couch curled close and head laying softly in my lap as we both fall asleep in front of the soft blue glow of a favorite show and I imagine you in the passenger seat of a car late at night to pick up cheese and sourdough and the missing butter we need to bake soft mint green cookies at home and I imagine its not your house or my house but our home and our hands embraced throughout every hour of every day and every minute of every night and I imagine I dream too much and that maybe its too much to ask but its all that I have and you're all that I dream...

be loved beautifully
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
Don't stay in a house of misery when you can leave and find a home waiting thats filled with love
Don't let ones cruelty cause tears to flow when theres a kind hand somewhere waiting to hold yours during the storms
Don't let the kindness in your heart fight a losing battle against neglect or the magic in your eyes go unnoticed
Your flaws and imperfections are part of all the beauty that radiates from deep within
Your love is beautifully and should be loved by someone who will love you beautifully
Your love and your time are your most precious gifts to share
Don't waste them on those who don't value them as such
And always be true to the wonder and splendor and beauty that is everything that makes you you

Akira Chinen Jan 2017
It hasn't even been ten minutes since we last talked and theres a hole in my chest that doesn't feel like its going to stop growing and I wish I could tell you how much you mean to me and how deeply I care about you but the timing doesnt feel right and my self doubts are louder than my hearts voice and I'm scared that its all too much and its all too quick and that my place isn't to win your heart and that you make  me happy in a way thay terrifies me because I can't imagine how horribly it would be to lose this feeling and I want to say more and to let my heart speak louder than my doubts and I can't find that courage and I feel out of place and I just don't want to see a tomorrow without you in it but I'm afraid it seems like this might be a life were we have to say goodbye and hope and know we will meet again in another life in another world in another dream where saying I love you is as necessary as breathing

He felt heartbroken
and madly in love at the same time
Knowing every moment
he indulged in the
dreams of her silk scented smile
The deeper the scar would be
and the ache would not fade
for this love would become
the skin and flesh of his heart
even though she would
not feel the same
love for him

broken piano string
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
She was an old jazz song played on a broken piano string tied to the moon and the scars of his heart
He was the twisted and warped kneck of the ghost of a violin haunting the halls of her soul
Their love was lost long ago in a forest forgotten by time and swallowed by eternity
They both wandered the world never knowing the others name but finding each other every night at the brief moment between sleep and dreams
and they would both hear each others music as it was sewn note for note into the fabric of true love
and they would wake miles and mountains apart and years away and yet still feel the nights song flowing within the pulse of their blood

the night and the moon
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
The night removed her clothes and let her stars fall and scatter about and the man in the moon blushed just a little, the same way he did the first time she had kissed him upon the cheek and they had loved each other since the birth of dreams and the beginning of time and yet every time they embraced in the naked truth of love it still felt like two strangers kissing for the first time and the man in the moons heart would beat with the wild youth of a school boy and the night would shyly laugh and giggle and they had never not been in love and would always be the first and last story of love in its beautiful perfection

a crown of lilies
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
The thought of her consumed the minutes of his day and his heart smiled and dreamt and painted images of her inbetween the movements of the second hand running in circles around the clock and inside the marrow of his soul her smile sung her name in unison with his pulse and even though he had never held her hand or tasted the sweet promise of nirvana glistening on her lips
and knew he likely never would
he couldn't deny that he had fallen over the edge and over his head and that even  if she never knew how he felt  that she would always walk through the dreams of his heart as a fawn wearing a crown of lilies
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
He fell asleep under the dream of her smile in an amethyst sky and his heart wept as visions and hopes played out like an old black and white movie of a tale of romance and he dreamt of her laughter and her hand in his and late nights cozyed up on a couch doing nothing at all and he dreamt of her finger and his knee kissing the ground and a ring that she would wear while dressed in a gown and he dreamt of her belly and of it swelling in size and of the sound of the pitter-patter of small feet running about and he dreamt of a house becoming a home and a home becoming a kingdom full of kindness and love and he saw it all there dancing in the colors and magic of her eyes and he slept and slept for fear if he woke the dream of her smile would fade and he feared it wasn't to be anything more than a dream of a dream of finding and falling and always being in love

Akira Chinen Jan 2017
He walked through the night sky and painted her name and a dream and a wish on every star and told every moon the story that he heard while listening to the beat of her heart and he feed every sun a little of the endless magic that he had found in the infintie depth of her iridescent blue eyes and night after night he swam through eternity and gave a small piece of his heart to the song of beauty that reverberated from her smile and throughout the cosmos and he traded the marrow of his soul for a palette and a brush and the secret colors and shades and hues of love and continued his long walk through forever as he painted her name and a wish and a star on every dream

the tale of perfect love
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
She was from the silk blue skies of heaven and the velvet soft pink clouds of dreams and her smile was the tapestry stitched to his heart and her lips held the promise of perfect love and he was lost in the black flames of eternity and desire contained in the dark center of her pupils that were surrounded by the soft magic in the gentle blue irises of her eyes and he was falling fast and standing still and all he could do was smile because his emotions were beyond his control and his every cell tingled and vibrated at just the thought of her fingers entwined with his and their palms touching and he didn't need to feel her lips pressed against  his before he knew his heart and love belonged to her and he secretly longed for the day he could hold her in his arms and get lost in her eyes the same way he got lost in her picture dream after dream and he would leave words like little bread crumbs so he could find his way back to the poem he heard beating in her kind heart and its gentle grace night after night and he would listen to the rhythm and flow and dance with the hope that one day he would find the bravery to tell her the tale of the perfect love waiting to be read from her lips and that his humble house would become the kingdom their two hearts would call home

the home of her hands
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
He placed his dreams and hopes
in her belly
He stiched his soul into the cracks
and holes of her heart
and he placed his heart in her hands
and all of the love he had ever known
and dreamt of
in the rhythm and flow of her pulse
He knew she was perfect in the way only dreams could be
And no matter how hard he tried
He couldn't convince himself it wasn't all just a dream
And he felt like heartache
was ready and lying in wait
in an empty bed next to his sleeping body
And even if it was only a dream
There would always be a small corner of his lips that would always smile whenever he thought of her
And that his heart would always find comfort and warmth
in the home of her hands

the poem of a dream
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
Slumber caught him unaware and he drifted towards sleep with a pen in his hand and her image burning in his heart and he found himself half past a dream and a quarter shy of three hours past midnight and he couldn't  stop his heart from falling for the soft light magenta sunset colors streaking through her hair and the iridescent crystal blue of her eyes had the promise of magic and the curves of her lips had a hint of danger hidden in their innocent wonder but even in the poem of a dream he couldn't find the strength to speak or to move in for a kiss and he wanted to tell her how lovely and graceful she danced without moving at all and how the song she sang in silence was the only song he wanted to hear and he wished he could just reach out his hand to hold hers and that if he could just manage that he would never let go and he could just walk through the rest of this dream for the rest of his life and the most beautiful thing would be to watch their two hands growing old while  watching all their little dreams of little moments of small things blossom between the sunset of eternity and the moons of forever and the immortal pulse and flow of love and if just for a moment he could do that and nothing more and just hold her hand in a dream his heart would have found the home it had always been meant to find and then his life would meet his death at the end of the dream of  perfection and the smile of her heart painted in the colors of her eyes

"ok"
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
I wonder if  you're "ok" because I see you say you are but I see a different story in your eyes and I've lived the life and lie of the reflection looking back from the dark mirrors standing invisible to everyone but myself and I've said "ok" myself more times than I could count and I know it's just easier to lie than try to explain the noise of everything breaking deep inside and not wanting to drag anyone down to the misery of a weeping heart and the dread long silent walk stitched to the bottom of the feet of a soul that can't find a reason to keep itself alive and I've been "ok" too and I was only a syllable away from a suicide while sitting alone in a car in a heavy down pour of rain with my hands clenching tight to the poison in my lap and my body trembling from the pain of the absence of my heart and a dream shattered at my feet and promises betrayed singing loudly and off key and I couldn't understand how anyone could be so ******* cruel and I couldn't breath through the pathetic flood of snot running from my nose and clogging in my throat and I was "ok" searching for that last syllable for my note and to this day I couldn't tell you why I'm still alive or how and when I got out of the car and woke up in my bed or how "ok" went from a bleeding lie rorting in the bottom of my teeth to being a quite truth to hold against the darkness and to hold myself up and to chasing away the reflection that was never truely mine and that it's "ok" to not be "ok" and if all you need is someone to sit there in the dark and let it be not "ok" for a minute or a day or however long it takes that I'm already there whenever you may need

It was her beautiful kindess that drew his heart to her like a butterfly lost in a dream and he could see eternity burning in the deep indigo night pools of her eyes and he felt forevers familiar promise seep into the marrow of his soul and saddly he turned away for the fate of routine was bitter sweet and mixed with doubt and heartache and he would give her no less than the sun and the moon and all the stars from the sky and the sea but he had only a lonely heart to offer and he found himself in the always and never
shadows and light of love
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
Madness smiles in the mirror
and time is just an illusion
that reflects the dark shadows of the truth
and the only truth that matters
is the song living in our hearts
and all we have to do is listen
and we will see that it is love that
causes madness to smile in the mirror
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
Dancing down the rabbit hole
because we have no where to go
Wasting our days pretending to be sane
No time to wonder
No time to play
Always running late as we grind our bones away
It's no way to live
It's no way to dream
So why not leave it all behind
What do we have to lose
besides our minds
And would that be so bad
After the programming of mankind
has penetrated so deep
Leaving nothing but rot and filth
Let's follow the scent of tea and madness
Fall with me as we dance
and dance
Down the rabbit hole
that leads to the land
where we live and play
and dream and wonder
Night after night after
Forever and a day

fairy tale soul
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
Her beauty was transcendent and heavenly
Her smile lovely and exquisite
Her eyes full of magic and wonder
She was the reason the stars knew envy
And the moon sang of eternal love
And the sun burned with hope
She could drown out sorrow by just saying hello
And she had lifted his spirits and stolen his heart
And he was grateful to have it taken by someone so generous and kind even though she was unawre that his heart now belonged to her
He felt lighter and happier than he had in many years and more so than he ever thought he would again
And it was more than a dream that hummed to him from where his heart had been
It was the song that told the tale of her woven heart and her fairy tale soul and from beginning to end lived the most beautiful love of all

unchased
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
She carried tender silken magic in her eyes and it was a magic older than the name of any god and older than time and it was a magic that had been given birth by love and it glistened in the crystal blue shards of her deep eyes and he spent a lifetime of falling in love in the mere moment he first gazed into them and he quickly looked away for he knew if he looked any longer he would be forever frozen in that moment unable to move or breath and as he heard her speak for the first time his vocabulary shrank and his voice grew timid and he barely managed to talk at all his heart blushed and pulse quickened as it recognized the magic instantly as it were a childhood favorite tale being retold and all the characters being brought to life and the sensation of the first time the flavor of chocolate floods an infants mouth and the secret of life that is only unlocked the moment before birth and death and is completely forgotten inbetween the two and though his heart shouted from within his chest he was helpless to watch time steal the moment away and pile the memory away in unfulfilled and unchased dreams

the long lost days before
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
She is the poem his heart writes while he lays sleeping in perfect slumber and the sounds of a magenta sky flows with music drifting slow and easy from the rhythmic sway of her soft hair and a gentle warmth rains down from her deep blue eyes sending him ever further down into the ocean of this endless dream and the echo of eternity dripps like honey from her precious lips and beautiful smile and the words of the poem burn into the skin of his heart and the music stays with him throughout the waking hours of the day and he smiles a smile he hasn't smiled since the long lost days before love met heartache and tragedy

dreamed of love
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
I awoke in the middle of a dream and you were there writing a story on a white wall in a language I was not familiar with yet I understood every syllable of every word and you wore a long lose black shirt and your left shoulder was exposed and I was instantly seduced by your bare skin and it was then and there that I knew and remembered that it was you and only you and always you that no matter what life I walked through and how far I wandered that wherever and whenever I layed my head down when I dreamed of love I would dream of you
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
She was small like a bird and more beautiful than all the stars stretched out across time soft pink dreams curled and nested in her head and tinted her hair with the colors of a cloud streaked sky at sunset
He felt like a wish walked through the center of his heart the first time he saw her walk past and was sure that she had the smile that had lived in his dreams of love since before he had been born into this life
She was lovely and kind and sweet
He was dull and boring and shy
She was young and vibrant
He was old and grey
Two hearts so close they could see into the others dreams
But he sat quietly
The temptation of perfection would have to be lost to the years of later regret and he folded the paper and the wish that read like a poem and instead of leaving it on the table for her to find he placed it in his pocket and walked away leaving a gentle whisper outside the door in the cool night air hoping she might hear him when she walked out and smile so the stars could see how beautiful and lovely it is to fall in love with a dream

woven heart
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
Her heart is woven from a fairy tale and he reads it ever night before, during, and after he sleeps
He is perfectly captivated by her and the way she carries the soft pink spots of love in her smile and in her hair
He imagines her kisses are sweet like cotton candy clouds over the horizon of the dying sun
Her face glows with the wonder of the moon and within her eyes dances the secret magic only known to the first star ever born
She is intricate and simply beautiful in a way that is always flawless
There is a hidden story of loss and heartache and hope just beneath her silky white skin
And she shares it only with those who know the language of the first star of long ago
And every night he searches and studies the sky counting the stars
And making a map and plotting a course so that one day he might be in the story he reads woven from the beat of her heart

dream well
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
A new year a blank page pretty blue lines in a moleskin notebook or off white in a spiral bound sketchpad paint brushes that thirst for color paint waiting to be poured ink wanting to bleed pens desperate to carve into pulp feet eager to dance music in the silence of the air dreams to scatter and create and time burning to be spent and life is too short no matter how long we live  and every story starts with but a single word and every word with but a single letter and ever journey a single step so why not sing and dance and write and paint along the way and use your days and nights to live well and to love well and to dream well
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
I wish that I could tell you that life gets easier
that its not so bad around the bend
a soft whispered lie
to help you with your struggles
a half felt truth to mend the cracks
a hand to hold out there in the dark
a voice of reason that comprehends
a mirror to hold that reflects
the beauty of what you need most
a love to comfort the sea of tears
you're drowning in
and I would be whatever you wanted
and sink down to your bottom
and be the air to fill your lungs
and be the thread and needle
to stich back all the pieces
you've lost and broken
and flow and pulse within your blood
and be the love that makes
all this misery worth living through
and be the silent truth
waiting around the corner
that's not so bad
and the wish that turns to the reason
of why life gets easier
but I'm afraid that the words from my lips
would only be an illusion
of gun smoke from deaths revolver
as it is death that makes liers
of us all in the end

The childish heart
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
The childish heart of mischief and innocence beating with wonder and awe and kindness and magic and soft beauty
Keep it well and keep it always
Don't foolishly let it float away with lost ballons or abandon it like an unwanted kite tangled in the dying branches of an old oak tree
It is the best heart you will ever have and the best heart you will ever be loved by
It is no easy task to keep as the days go by and the years add up
Don't fall victim to the lures of what comes next or to those who insist you must let it go and you must grow up and old
This is not true
Not at all
In no way
And no how
You will age and that is certain
If lucky your body will collect many many years
There is no fighting time or fate on that
But the soul and spirit of your heart is a timeless entity
A will and mind of its own
Half crazy and fully mad
The wild card in a deck full of jokers
The maker of things impossible possible
The final guardian of magic
The last knight of wonder
The only protector of kindness
But it can stray
It can grow old
It can even turn cold
and bitter
and cruel
It is much harder work to keep the childish heart than to give into doubt and disbelief and follow the flow of the normal world around you
And how do we keep this heart
This childish beautiful heart
How do we keep it safe
How do we hold on
We feed it the magic of childhood dreams
And the sweet kindness of wonder
We encourage the impossible
We push it through failure and skinned knees
We let it soar with kites in open skies and dance among cloud high ballons
And most importantly we believe in its love
For there is nothing more important to the childish heart
than believing in its love
Feeling its love
Giving its love
and accepting its love
The childish heart
Is ours to always keep
and it is simple as believing
all though that is very difficult to do
but there is no better life to live
Than the life lived
Protecting and keeping
The childish heart

between eternity and dream
Akira Chinen Jan 2017
Let one day the pulse within my chest slow and grow faint until it no longer beats at all and then place my body into the black fires of eternal night and let my body be consumed by flame and my flesh and bones turned to ash and with one last kiss from the lips of death let me be carried off with wind and dust to the twilight blue skies only found in your eyes and let my name fall silent within the pages of history and never be spoken again and in the moments you glimpse between eternity and dream may you see that the beauty of your love will never fade from my heart

slow comforts
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
I long for the slow comforts of a dull love
quite late night old movies
driving nowhere under the crescent moon
just to listen to the radio and sing off tune
and just beating the sunrise home
falling asleep as hearts and breaths sync
and eyes share the same old dreams over and over again
eating cereal for breakfast at 6pm
and raiding the 24 hour truck stop at a quater to 3 in the morning
to search for the sweets from our treasured childhood memories
not keeping track of time to visit nostalgia lane and future hopes
laughing at our misery and crying from the joy of dreams fulfilled
sitting still with fingers entwined and palms kissing
smiling like lunatics for no reason or ryhme
hearing I love you with no one making a sound
and years flashing past while hearts beat slow and steady
and nothing changes as nothing stays the same
bodies growing older and souls getting younger
and everday love reminds us
that a life of small moments
and little things
add up to every lasting years
of slow comforts

she had a poem...
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
she had a poem where her soul was suppose to be and the pupils of her eyes had been carved out from the black void before the beginning of time
she knew more than any man or woman or god and only ever lost at anything when playing checkers and
tic-tac-toe with children
there was an intricate and gentle song that hummed in the depths of her heart and her blood flood with the slow ease of the last drop of honey from a jar
an unending kindess flowed from her gaze and she was continuously looking for those in the most need
she existed within the fabric of dreams and the horizon of eternity
and the beauty of love was an endless fairytale tattooed along
the curves of her spine
she has walked quietly through your dreams and gathered all the tears of heartache and grief you have ever shed and turned them into stars and moons and wishes of good tidings
she is there everytime you fall in love and and everytime your heartbreaks and it is with strands of her hair that she stiches the broken pieces back together and whispers sweet words of hope to chase away the feelings of despair
and you know her by
a name you will never speak in
a language you will never know
and when dreaming
you can always hear
your heart reading
her poem to your soul

the end of her fingertips
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
She is a dream stuck between
a first kiss and a dying wish
an eternity trapped in a moment
and a forever lost long ago
the dried bones of an angels spine
and the dust from a dead humming birds wing
the hidden fire in a dragons belly
and the color of a mermaids breath
the first hairs of a paint brush
and the last drop of paint
the thread that stitches beauty to a heart
and the dull edge that cuts love apart
the keeper of the universes secrets
and the narrator that spills the truth at the end
the blood flowing through life
and the wind that warns of death
the end of time
and the begining of nothing and nowhere
she is and she isn't
and every star and every leaf
knows her by name
and yesterday and tomorrow
live in the space between her eyes
and today is just a dream
she continuously spins
on the end of her fingertips

my beautiful little boy
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
Fast asleep I watch him breathe with innocence still soft and pink upon his cheeks
and I wonder what does he dream and where does he go
as he lay in slumber still
does he fly above the clouds as dragon with tooth and claw and fire
or does he play with toys that have come alive with joyful mischief
or does he quest on adventures bold and become the hero who refuses gold
what does he dream
my beautiful little boy
Nine years past and he has grown
in body, mind, and spirit
kindness and love live inside his heart
and his smile and laughter fills my days and nights with warmth and what a privilege it has been to be the father of such a beautiful little boy
And may the days and years ahead
see him grow wiser and kinder
and may time only age
the skin over his cheeks
and his heart stay forever young
and let him become handsome and daring
and dashing and witty and charming
and let him always remember
no matter how much or how little
he may have he always has enough
for sharing
and no matter how old he turns he will always be my beautiful little boy

with beauty and hope
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
Her face held the beauty of a fairy tale untold
and her eyes contained the lost secrets of magic and wonder
and the last colors of dragons fire
tinted the strands of her hair
She walked with the softness of a dream in deep slumber
and was often found mending broken butterfly wings
and saving the lives of bees that had lost their sting
The red blood of life first flowed through her lips
and within their first kiss time was sent into motion
with a tick and a tock
and seconds gave birth to minutes
that grew into hours
and hours changed night to day and day to night
She would whisper bed time stories to stars yet to be born
and more times than not it was often fables
of love and heartache and tragedy
but her words were always kind and gentle and sweet
and in the end no matter how broken the tale may have been
or the number of tears she had shed
the last thing she spoke
and the words at the end
were always overflowing
with beauty and hope
