Akira Chinen Dec 2016
Her hair danced with fire and used its color to paint the first wild red red rose
Her face was made of a soft white canvas cut from the dream of a cloud
The first kiss from her lips gave birth to heaven
and the second buried the secrets of pleasure in the devils heart
Her eyes contained the rage of an endless ocean
and the painted skys and stars of magic
and madness
that would one day be called Van Gogh
To see her was to fall in...
To know her was to be in...
For in her soul and flesh and essence was the fabric of
everything that makes love beautiful

bottom of a dream
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
I saw you today or maybe it was just a picture or your name in a mirror and I fell again over my head and to the bottom of it all and nostalgia forgot to worry about the pain of longing just long enough to feel bliss and joy and all the little things that count the way towards love and I felt like a school boy with a crush on the most beautiful girl in the world that he would never be brave enough to talk to but still walked home with his feet never touching the ground and I day dreamed of dark swirling Vincent skys and stars and sailing across the endless ocean trapped in your eyes and it was a brief passing moment that lasted an eternity and then you were gone and all I could see was your name in a mirror that held onto your picture I found at the bottom of a dream where I was sleeping still falling into the madness of it all

a house to call a home
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
Maybe I just don't know or maybe I just don't got nothing new to say and I know its not my place to worry about people I don't really know and maybe I'll take a train to Tennessee and take a shot of whiskey and mend something thats been broken just so I can watch it fly away and maybe I'll go somewhere north and lay down in the snow and talk to the devil about cold weather and dead souls and maybe he'll send me to Nebraska to fetch a golden truth for a pound of lies and a bridge to London that won't fall down if I walk across it and maybe I'll get tired halfway across and find a talking shark that promises not to bite if I jump into the ocean and have a little swim and maybe I'll dream of drowning as my bones get stuck between its teeth and somewhere in that dream I'll find you waiting and sitting on the branch of a tree at the bottom of the sea and it might not look like much but I'll believe you when you say I finally found a house to call a home if all I do is stay...

beautifully broken
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
Why are you so beautifully broken
Why is your soul so cold
When your fire burns blinding white
When your heart beats its wild wings
Where did you come from
Where will you go
Will your name be the same
On the other side of the dream
Will the colors of your eyes be stained
By the absence of grey skies
When the rain says it's last goodbye
And November never comes around again
Will you remember the echo of the steps
You walked with love
In love
Being love
Will you remember all the names
Love whispered in your ear
When its time to close the curtains
On the final act
Of your last dream
And there behind the curtain
Will you find yourself
No longer cold or broken
Will you see you were always
just beautiful

wild soul
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
It wasn't the colors of her eyes
Or their shape
Or how they were perfectly framed on a face that was too beautiful for anywhere else but a dream
It was the wild soul inside that swam an endless ocean beneath a dark sky with Vincent stars
It was the way of finding and falling and keeping and being in love all happened at the same time
It was how the longing and ache just felt right
Even if there hands would never touch or their lips would never embrace
And it was all there
All of it
Just spinning madly in her eyes

overflow
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
My heart overflows with pain and wonder and the beauty of remorse and the remorse of beauty and wouldn't it be nice if we could just as easily rearrange our memories so that the lives we have lived could be the lives we want to live and I've fallen in love over and over again and it seems maybe unfair to have experienced so much in one life that hasn't seen its end and I worry less about the next time or if there will ever be another such time as much as I worry that there maybe a time that won't be better than the last and whose mouth will haunt my dreams as the kiss I can't forget  and I can only hope that it will be the same pair of lips that gave me my last first kiss right after I fell off the edge of eternity and plummeted madly into love for the last time that felt like the first time I found myself in the pain and wonder of the beauty of a forever without the fear of remorse of a life a had only dreamt I could live

illuminated heart
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
Thin black silk veil covers transparent porcelain white skin and an illuminated red heart flutters wildly within
A mouth with the shape and shine of the moon echos with melancholy tears and laughter lost and a touch of lunacy for the dark side of things
She would fake a smile and say she was okay just to comfort her family and friends and it was easier than trying to explain the things they would never understand
She could handle the weight and the darkness and the monsters didn't scare her as much as she scared them and there was pain in every breath on the worse days and numb on the bad days and the good days seemed to pass in mere minutes and it never slowed down the wild red illuminated heart fluttering madly within her chest

...if...
Akira Chinen Dec 2016
If only I were him and you were her and she didn't live so far away and we were all too busy to write about and long for love because we were all too busy enjoying its beauty and living in the center of its deepest depths and our thirst never came from a lack of desire and it all turns cliché as I point out that we are only who we are and knowing that still isn't enough to answer the question of who are you but an endless dream of a kiss that I will never receive and I find myself sleeping and napping just to watch it repeat on the walls inside my marrow over and over again and again...

hundred kisses
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
A hundred kisses down I would go gently gliding from the soft spots of your kneck sliding over heart and lovely porcelain colored velvet breast one by one my lips savoring every spot  they linger upon as they travel down your abdomen and pause and tremble as I pass your navel and hover in helpless sedation of the seduction of the pleasures waiting to bloom just above and between your thighs and then not even air could take my mouth and tounge away from pressing against your silk and sultry skin and every sweet drop of your nectar wine would be savoured before dancing down my throat and on and on would my kisses go until by shake and quivering your body satisfied and then a hundres kisses more would climb slowly back up with the last one from our meeting lips

sleepless heart
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
Is it the sleepless heart or the restless mind or the beauty of the dream you paint upon my bedroom ceiling that has me lost in this empty bed filled with pools of sweat of untamed and untouched desire
Let me kiss the innocence off your cheeks and wander in the lust of your eyes
You are all my prayers of heaven and consume my every thought of sin
I want to be bound between the leather covers of your book
and be tied to its spine with thread
I want to swim in your words and soak into your every passion and leave my fingerprints and stains on every page
Let me read the secret verse
and let me go falling into love
until my heart is no longer mine

And my heart broke a little more
and sank deep down to the
bottom of misery
And beyond temptation hate tried
to force its way above my skin
And throat foamed and the chance
to yell obscenities
And how my blood did howl with
angers force
And my unclenched fist wanted to grasp
liers throat
And better sense of temperament reminded me....

Flags of cloth and star and stripes
and hammer and sun
and snake and bear
and shape of
this and that
Take them all and wave them high
and set free their lies
and toss them into
the flames of ignorance
and hate
Let them burn...
           Every one...
And in their dying embet glow
May we see we are
All of one world
One people
One blood
One love

Twin sun sets
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
Twin sun sets in the hollow
eye sokets of death
And from her silk indigo robes
a cold long night unfolds
A dream has found its tragic end
And seeds of hope are covered
by poisoned soil
Nothing good will grow in fields
watered  by fear and hate
Celebrity  beat intellect
Kindnesd lost  to cruelty
Greed choked hope into  the grave
The melting *** has been filled
with gasoline
And now what do we do?
Do we helplessly watch freedom
Burn to ash
Or do we unite and fight for
True liberty

Little girl Little boy
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
All this noise in the world
And no one is listening
No one is noticing all the wrong
All the ugly words to the song
Children sitting gathered at tables
Laughing as they should
Laughing while they can
Life fast at their heels
Horror awaiting to replace their innocent
   days
And whose daughter will go first
Whose little girl will lose her will
      To smile
       To trust
        To love
Whose precious ray of sunshine
  Will be dragged
     To
        Dark alleys
         Dark couches
           Dark beds
Whose little flower will be
         Stomped on
         And crushed
         And dismembered
      And left living a life
      Constantly wishing for death
And who would do such a thing
To such a sweet little smile
  Will it be by
    Monster or cousin
    Or uncle or father
    Or neighbor or stranger
    Or husband or friend
And whose little boy will lose his way
   Lose his way from patience
   And kindness and love
   And respect
Whose little boy will grow into brother
Of brother of father of wealth
    And of name
Whose little boy will be taught by
ignorance and ***** that he must be like
the father of his brother of his brother
  of name and of wealth
Whose little son will grow into the monster
of the illusion of being a man
Means taking whatever he wants
   whenever he can
Whose little monster will be left to wander
  and stray
    So far far away
     From the days of being
      A monster was only
        pretending and play
I sit and I sip coffee of sugar and cream
And I wish and I pray that this was all
   A bad dream
But I cannot refuse or deny it
All this horrible horrible noise
Among the children laughing
With naive painted grins
I shudder inside of thoughts of their
                                       innocence gone
I tremble to know of futures of
                                        terrible wrongs
Whose will grow into murders of racism
  and hate
Whose will find themselves victims of ****
Whose will find themselves innocent
locked behind bars awaiting death row
Who will turn into monster and beast
Who will turn into hero and friend
Whose little boy
Whose little girl
Will brave the road and pave the way
  To a future of endless
               Innocent days
It cannot be a day too soon
Let us hope it is not a day
                  Too late...

dream and dream of you
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
You've stolen my dying heart
and filled my lonely blood with hope
and now all my dreams are of you
The smile of your dark lips hypnotize my soul beyond the whims of simple desires
Flowers bloom from your eyes
and my lungs fill with a
mysterious scent mixed
from love and lust
I am helplessly lost
in a sea of raging passion
and all I want to do
is drown to the bottom of you
And drink the salt
and nectar and wine
that awaits hidden
in your depths of secret treasures
My skin grows desperate
and hard and hungery
to know your velvet touch
and silk folds
I toss and turn and grind
and find myself beyond infatuation
and sprawled out before temptations gate
Your voice glides through the air with soft seduction and sinks into my marrow
My spine melts and winds and slithers willingly around your finger
and there is nothing I can do
But dream
and dream of you

fevered mind
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
Sweetness
I know your just a dream and an illusion illustrated by a fevered mind and painted by a broken heart
Dark grey eyes in a black and white photograph of something innocent with a lustfull wonder and a soulful gaze
And you are in beauty and love the definition of perfection
and maybe I'll fall in love or find madness or maybe it will be a little of both and it will be an impossible thing made possible
I could love you past the infinte unknown and through the nothing of what comes next and find you in my past and futute lifes and love you more each time
Yet if I reached out to touch you and moved my lips in front of yours and hesitated for a moment of what felt like eternity
and then moved again
in an instant would you not disappear
and fade
The paint dryed to dust and carried off with the wind of this waking dream
and the illustration turned to mist
and ghost of memory
Then you would be gone and the love would still burn over the surface of my heart and your picture would still flicker in black and white on the walls of my soul
The smell of gun smoke and gasoline to remind me of an impossible dream
And if you instead reached out to me and hesitated and then...
Would our worlds collide
Would you pull me into dreams and illustrations of books and
tales of impossible love
Or would you be made real and be of flesh and bone and blood and passion of something soul and wonder and innocence
Or would we both be pulled somewhere inbetween and walk a silver line above the sky and clouds and find our story already written in the stars
Our every chapter and our ever time and our every name and our ever love

Comfortable
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
We fall in love
Deep mad love
And everything
Everything about life
seems better
We hold hands
Kiss tightly and long
We get lost between
Slow *** and hard
reckless *******
We stay up late
with the stars
and catch the sunrise
We phone and talk
about nothing
and anything
and lose ourselves
in laughter and
forget to care about
what time it is
And time passes
and we get comfortable
We get so ******
comfortable
that we forget about
the fire
the madness
and slowly we take
love for granted
We laze around it
We wander from it
in the grocery store
the long car rides
we carelessly ignore it
during what was once
love making and not
just killing time or
just ******* to ****
And the fire dies down
And madness packs up
And soon enough
mouths no longer kiss
and hands dont hold
and then
theres yelling
and finger pointing
and blame tossed around
And we forget about love
We forget how it all happened
How we got so
****** comfortable
and we lose it
and we find misery
and then misery gets
so ****** comfortable
and we enjoy it
We enjoy being miserable
and we just gotta laugh
about how stupid we
can be

dead dreams and whiskey
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
Its easier to fall for a voice and a picture
than a women sitting at the end of a bar
stirring lonely ice
in a glass full of whiskey and dead dreams
The imagined love hurts less to lose
where kisses shared were just painted illusions
and wet colors left under the skin of a dream
Where the reality of the illusion bends
and sways to the whims of a foolish heart broken
and stitched and broken and stitched over time and clichés
And love is kinder in fantasy
than in shared beds with lonely souls
just putting their bodies through the motion
of the memory of past ghosts
of living passions from nights under a moon long gone
And the bar has filled and ice has melted
and women stir dead dreams
and wear whisky flavored lips
and maybe if I didn't suffer from a debilitating shyness
I would mention the strange weather
or say anything at all
But the solitary ride home is more tempting
and I have a picture and a voice
waiting on a nightstand next to an empty bed
with a comfortable dream
to stitch back the pieces of the dead heart
that somehow still beats inside my chest

heart of a penny
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
The heart of a penny drowns at the bottom of a wishing well
And dead dreams swim like poison over ten cent love affairs
not worth a nickels worth of half faked affections
And skeleton coins can't tell if its the cold of winter
or the death of romance freezing in their bones
I'm a quarter shy of midnight under the influence
of a melancholy song of the moon
and toss my luck
and my dreams
and my heart
and the last
Of my sense on a cent
With a wish not to drown
As I sink to the bottom
Of this ocean of love
Full of my thoughts
of you

...i am...
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
I am from the blue sky threads of heaven and the black iron flames of hell
I  am innocence bathed in sin
I  am hatred betrayed
and killed by kindness
I  walk the hard concrete of sidewalks
lost along the roads
of tragedy and romance
I  am ghost and soul and body
inside  the hollow shell of an empty heart
searching  for the echo of a memory of a song that was forgotten
before it was ever sang
I am time frozen and crumbled and wasted
and trapped in hours of broken glass and freed by howling winds
and raging seas
where seconds expand past eternity
and minutes outweigh the value
of hours and days and weeks and years
I am infant and small and  weak
I am old and aged and frail
I am woman and man and devil and god
and strong and wise and wicked and worn
I am dream and truth
I am death and illusion
I  begin at the end
and end at forevers first
footstep
I am flesh and blood and time
I am love

soft pieces of air

It had been such a long time since I had been able to look at someone so hauntingly beautiful that I cut away the soft pieces of air to frame the memory of the moment
I swam through eternity in a single breath and was forever lost in a
flood of dreams born from the
madness in the colors of her eyes
She glowed with the magic of moonlight and her hair danced with
red flames from the sun
I had no were else I could go and helplessly I fell into a bottomless ocean of love
I drowned over and over again dying in dreams of stardust and dissecting the the delicate silk robes of each death while being haunted by her grace and beauty

Akira Chinen Nov 2016
I wake up with the dream of you still wet and pressed hard against my skin and I keep my eyes closed and let the ghost of your vision linger over my body and wander over and inbetween my limbs
I can still feel the heat of your breath on my neck and hear the echo of your whisper telling me what to do
Eagerly I obey every syllable of ever word and my hands become your hands and your hands become the warm soft folds of the flower and pleasures you keep hidden between your thighs and below your belly
I get lost in the rush of my desire and drag myself back into my dreams of you where I get lost deep inside your blooming petals
We lose our flesh
and our bones melt until we become nothing more than two dark velvet seas raging and crashing into each other
We bleed farther into the silk sheets of lust and we  become the colors of unknown  love as wave after wave climbs higher into this dream
I find myself over you and behind you and below you and your every fiber stiched with electricity to the marrow of my decadent bliss as I come to the edge of gratification
Then death finds me tangled and twisted and sweating inside cold blankets and sheets with my hands my own again and clutching a damp pillow as life explodes between my tightly clenched eyes
not wanting to watch your dream
turn into a mist leaving nothing behind
but the ghost of your lips

dream birds

She was a bird made out of dreams
swimming at the bottom of
a lost forgotten sea
Wings of crushed velvet colored by black silk  flames
her name was written before time had a beginning
and will echo among the stars after eternities end
Her song was just outside my window
floating between the raindrops
of a midsummers storm
during the death of a midnight hour
But her heart was beating
in another world of another place
dancing with the footsteps of another ghost
to a rhythm I did not know
And all I could do was listen to the downpour
as i fell into a dream shaped like a bird
and get lost at oceans end

the song on her arm
Akira Chinen Nov 2016
She had the beauty of cherry blossoms
and the tragedy of
a dead love song tattooed on her arm
Her smile held the promise of beauty
but I couldn't help but notice
her lips were stained with fresh blood
And I couldn't speak
but she didn't seem to mind
as it wasn't the secrets I could speak that her eyes were hunger to discover
She peeled off my skin without removing my clothes and was ravaging my soul with the perfection of forbidden pleasures before she had even spoke her name
She pulled my heart from between my ribs without breaking any bones and twisted my spine around her fingers as she wrote what people called her in my pulse
but she whispered of the secret
of who she really was
when no one was around
And I was helplessly hers
but only a whim of the moment
and nothing more than something to ****
and leave for the fishes
at the bottom of her sea
And it didn't matter
as all I could was hum along
with the song on her arm
and fall with the leaves
of her cherry blossom tree

the stars in your words
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
Was it the words or the picture or the painting I imagined of what your love would feel like that caused my heart to tremble and lose count of the number of times it had been broken
I forgot what life I was living and couldn't tell the now from the then
were you a love lost and forgotten or a name I had yet to kiss  and what was hiding behind  the shy
disguise of your eyes
Was it a hunger for lust or love
or just hands needing  blood
to **** a little time
or was it  unknown colors
that lead to the magic of pleasures
you keep hidden beneath
the blanket of your dreams
And the corner of your lips
where your smile ended
did it curve and bend towards the direction of seduction
or was it a smirk of satisfaction from a recent ribcage you had plundered
above your mattress as the
clock ticked slowy past 2 am
and when you had finished
you left not even the ghost of a soul
I couldn't tell if I was lost in a thought of a shipwreck sleeping at the bottom of your sea or being eaten by the desire of a dream with the teeth of your kiss and all I could do was watch in a helpless sedation
as my imagination painted
while reading the eyes in your picture
and gazing at the stars in your words

a soul like yours
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
I fell in love with a soul like yours somewhere in a past life and a life yet lived and in some lost fold in time in this life.  We were once forbidden lovers and once jealous husband and wife that ended in ****** or suicide and once boy and girl sharing a first kiss and a first this and a first that in the back seat of a stolen car.  I didn't know you at the time but I recognized that you had her smile and shy lust hiding in between the color of your eyes.  I remembered that first kiss before I discoverd your new name and couldn't make a sound with my voice, luckily in that story you carved me out of my shell with a glance and a drink after drink and took me home to your bed and you showed me the skin of your heart and the pulse of your magic and sheets.  And I got lost between you being her and her being you and found that we were just the same two souls going round and around in this life after life cruel to be kind cycle and I know I had nothing to fear from death becauseI knew I would find you wearing her smile and she would be born again and again in your soft white porcelain skin

This is a poem my son wrote...

What if you could go to the other side of the universe, the world, the sky... What if you could fly, float, glide... What if you could teleport, transport, appear... What if you could do anything you only could do... but you have to do one thing before you can do any of that.  Before you could go to the other side, before you could fly, before you could teleport... and that thing is to find your story.

everything that is love
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
I don't have the words to describe how beautiful you are but if you are not the definition of beauty then beauty has yet to be truely defined
And yet there is a deeper attraction than that what is pleasing to the eye
A pull that comes not from need or want or lust or desire
Not from the flickering flame or burning embers
Not the soft clouds of silk magenta skies or the mist rolling off dark blue velvet oceans
It is a drop of the pure essence and blood of the only truth found in the palm of eternity
The reason men seek to climb the trails through the mountains of madness and the echo heard throughout the asylum where the lost gods of insanity sleep
Cast and bound in human form you are everything that is love

throw the book in the fire
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
There are still mornings where I wake up with a raging after thought of you and a hard memory aching for release.  I lay in a pool of cold sweat that still has the perfume of your pheromones that you left stiched in my skin.  And I can still feel the warmth of your lips over the scar you left on the inside of my thigh with your teeth the night you wanted to see what would come first... a scream or a moan or the taste of my blood against your tounge.  Your way of loving burned and reduced me to ash every time our flesh tangled and twisted and contorted and melted away until we were nothing but lust and rage and passion fusing together under sheets and over floorboards and in front of mirrors and ontop of counters and parked in driveways and in the downpour of the rain scented by the lost and found ghosts of love.  I don't open my eyes but find myself praying to gods I don't really belive in to fall back to sleep and find this dream of you again and again and find myself questioning if you were ever really real.  Some would say that this was the kind of love you could only read about, that it was the kind of love only madness could dream of... that a human heart and mind and body couldn't survive such a feverish affair.  Or maybe it's just me, maybe I'm the one trapped on a page, the fool and the pawn to some story book queen with ink for blood and paper for skin... if that happens to be true, throw the book in the fire, but for old times sake... read it one more time again and again

my imagination...
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
I live in a constant state where my imagination far exceeds my talent, intellect, know how and ability to create and keep up with it.  I have no idea what I am doing or how I ever do it, not when I paint or draw or write or sculpt or... it's always a mystery and a wonder to watch.  Though being a somewhat helpless spector at times can be frustrating, it's the strange and dark pull and love towards tragedy and misery and beauty found in unlikely places that makes it impossible not to watch.  I am not who I think I am except when I am lost to the imagination of a dream of who I once was or might have been.  My name was lost long ago along with the first honey bee to sacrifice it's life to protect itself from harm.  I've been buried and born and loved and hated and dreamt and died all in the same moment and found and lost the secrets of life in a single breath that I never took.  And maybe one day I will be real if I can only manage to catch up to my imagination....

something about your smile
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
There is something about your smile that makes me want to part your lips
And discover the touch of your fingertips as they carve your name into  my back
To feel the warmth of your breath as your teeth release the blood within my neck
Revealing the hidden lust and rage of my pulse
Letting both tounges and limbs tangle and twist
Along the secrets locked beneath the colors of hushed closed eyes
To give you my flesh and bone and time
To grind away
To pave the sky
To paint the stars
To have my heart and life explode
And scatter across the dark haunted sky
Below the slight part of your lips
As the moon reflects
The mystery and beauty
Of your smile

the laughing moon
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
The moon smiled and laughed
as it hung in a dark magenta sky over a blood red sea
burning with black flames
Dead mermaids brought the dreams of starfish
to the surface of the ocean
Hoping to pay their way out of their debt to love
The last and only thing keeping them chained
to the cold tides of fate
Their bones tired and weary
Their scales fallen off a fairy tale ago
and their hearts still faintly beating
No matter how hard they tried
and no matter how many dreams they collected
or how far they swam
They never could find their way to death
or a map to oceans end

dreamless moon
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
I fell asleep but couldn't dream
so I walked through the mist
and echo of a black blanket
under a starless night
I came across a nightmare
crying under a leafless tree
naked and exposed with
soft skin and milky breast
Her lips were the color of poison
but her voice carried
no trace of a lie
As she said all she had wanted
was to kiss the moom
under a dark magenta sky
She promised me she could lead me back to dreams
If I would just take her hand
and let her walk with me
So our fingers entwined
and we walked miles
of soft footsteps
and shy glances
She would giggle and blush
from time to time
It had begun to feel
as if she had lost her way
and our journey would never end
When she suddenly stopped
and motioned she had
something to whisper in my ear
I leaned in close and she laughed lightly and said
"Your clothes fell off sometime ago... we are both naked now, so this must be your dream... before you go may I ask of you one more thing?"
She stopped whispering and
moved her mouth in front of mine and said the last part with
her eyes...
I didn't know it then
but that would be
my last first kiss
and now I am the moon
hanging dreamless
in a dark magenta sky

last words
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
Fly away little bird
My love is not a burden for you to share
It is heavy and dark and made of broken pieces of hearts and dreams
You have a much better life to live
adventures waiting
My life belongs to the desk and pen
The brush and the haunting blank surface
Grey colors and falls embrace
I know it would be eternal paradise
To spend time with you under both sheets and dreams
To breath in your scent hidden between thighs and breast
To wander hand in hand
Through the halls of your heart and soul
To feel your beauty flow endlessly throughout my blood and control my pulse
... sometimes fast... sometimes slow...
breathing easy through sleep
panting heavy inbetween dreams
kisses soft with hard teeth
bleeding slow
where fingers traced words of love
during torrent moments of lust
nirvana found under the razor tip of your tounge pressed against
the life seeping out of my skin
only fools would mistake this as sin
but its not the place for me to find or spend my autumn years
Your love has better days and things to do
I am only a dream away from death
Sitting at a cold desk
Watching lost colors drown out the corners of the surface once blank
Painting the last words of a dying dream

dreams of a penny
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
what is she but a hope or a wish
a dream or a penny full of bad luck
a butterfly wing or a switchblade knife
placed with precision between two ribs
delirium and delusion as bride and groom
but not girl and boy
just bones and bones
husband and wife
without any parts to tell who's who
just a spark and a flash
of lives lived and loved
loves loved and died
death dreamt and slept
dreams slept and cried
tears flooded and drowned
flowers drenched
whiskey drank
porcelain chipped and cracked
last kiss of the first
death of reason
birth of madness
suffering murdered
pain given black wings
a heart stiched with the vane of a lost feather
once used by a god to write a letter and draw a map
while spending a life wandering a road under the shade of a tree
or was she sitting beneath the mist of a wave waiting for a bus to stop somewhere between eternity and oceans end
she was so long ago and sometime soon
that I can only hope and wish
that she will be the dreams of a penny that is all out of luck
just sleeping in the sun
waiting to be loved

you are my death
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
There was a spell woven into her eyes
that caught souls and trapped fools in a heart shaped web
In the desperation of desire
all one could do was fall
and give into the madness of love
and wait and hope to breath their last breathe while entwined in her gaze
He knew this about her
and still raised his eyes to meet hers and let out a deep sigh
Then they tumbled down through sheets and out of clothes and into the thunder of passion and the lighting of lust
Her every touch spun and tangled him deeper into the color of her magic embrace and he gave his hearts life willingly to her needs
And as he felt its last breath leave his lips he placed his head gently over her chest and whispered
You are my death...
for in you I have found the
end of suffering

And then they fell to sleep and through each others dreams
where death smiled and love laughed
and eternity built a campfire
under the cliffs of
oceans end

...fathers and sons...
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
Fathers won't always remember the last time their sons give them their last soft kiss on the cheek followed by a small squeaky voice saying, "i love you daddy"
And that's ok...
I suppose...
Its the kind of thing little boys outgrow so slowly and suddenly that it goes unnoticed until it is completely gone some years ago
It will be replaced by long warm hugs and little arms wrapped around necks and legs and waists and a voice not as tiny or squeaky saying "I love you dad"
And that's ok...
I suppose...
And often with an unknown tragedy these hugs become shorter as arms grow longer
Not always... but sometimes
Some will stay close
Some will drift
And some will drift and then become even closer for their time apart
And that's ok...
I suppose...
The wonders of life are not always kind
But they are not of cruel intentions
It will seem unfair at times
True
But life itself cannot be blamed
It has no guidelines
No safety net
No rule book
It is of whimsy and irony and grace and downfall and magic and fear and beauty
Time will shuffle the deck and fate will cut and deal the cards
And maybe hugs will be replaced by pats on the back or handshakes or shrugs of the shoulders as an older voice that has lost all of its squeak says, "...hey..." as sons and fathers pass in the hall
And that's ok...
I suppose...
Fathers have to let their sons grow
Have to let go of thier hands...
To let them...
discover mistakes and learn failure and invent secrets and build mystery and paint dreams
To live through the wonders of life that will sometimes seem cruel and unfair
And find in their fathers voice that they they only let go of their hands so they could hold more tightly to their hearts which they can never let go

the first star
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
A man with dragonfly wings and a ravens head interrupted a dream where the moon was dying and the sun was burning its last match
He spoke in clicks and clacks and had hooves for feet and told a story of the birth of the first star who had no father or mother
Lost and alone in an infinite darkness the star had little to do but ponder if there was any difference between reality and fiction and which one it belonged to
Did it belong to a dream or a wish or was it an illusion or a trick or was it just imagining itself and maybe it wasn't even a star
Maybe it wasn't anything at all
Maybe it was nothing more than a feverish thought of a mad god with dragonfly wings and a ravens head and hooves for feet who had murdered his mother and father
He made a noise that sounded something like a cackle and a snarl and then hovered for a moment before flying off into a blood red sky
The dream flickered back into focus and the sun had no flame or fire and the moons corpse floated out in a burning boat towards oceans end
Its last dream wrapped in velvet bandages dangled in a starless sky humming a silent song only the first star ever born could hear
Akira Chinen Oct 2016
Who are you that floats above me as I sleep
Who pulls back my skin and cuts through muscle and bone
Leaving me exposed
You swim through the lust of my heart
And the blood of my tears
You sew your fingerprint on the fabric of my dreams
Carve your name into the walls of my soul
Constructing a labyrinth and laying down a string
Leaving at the entrance
A note and a map and your heart
The note is written in the blood of a golden honey bee and signed with a kiss
The map is still wet with the colors of your eyes and an X that marks the spot where your love will be
And your heart humming a song of Shangri-la
I take a two steps back and then fly foward and over and into madness
And fall into the promiscuous
red promise of your lips
