Her bones break

her body shakes,
trying to figure out
how much more she can take

Saw a couple today,
Younger than me,
With promise rings on their fingers.
How truly lucky
Or unfortunate
To find love
At such a young age.

In 17 years of mistakes
And regrets,
Wrong turns and
Bad decisions,
You are the first thing
To feel right.

These feelings I have for you
Are too much for me.

I think I love you,
And I'm not going to lie,
That absolutely terrifies me.
What do I do?

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder
I don't think that is true,
Unless this is a sign that
You don't feel the same way I do.

I want to know about
all your battles and wars
And I'll show you my scars
If you show me yours.

Show me you care,
Because I'm starting to feel
Like nothing to you.

Some nights I'll need you
To hold me a little tighter.
For those are the nights that
My world shakes, and I might
Break apart.

Some nights you'll need me
To hold you a little tighter,
And I may not be very strong,
But on those nights,
I will hold you like you are the only thing
I have to hold on to.

I wish I could hold you in my arms
Late at night
And whisper I love you,
The moon and stars the only witnesses

I wonder how many of us
Would cure our loneliness
And depression,
Heavy nights of silent tears,
If it meant we would never write
A truly heartfelt poem again.

If sadness were as potent as alcohol or drugs
Before I met you
I would've been wasted all the time
And high as a kite.

Think of all the things we could accomplish
And all the things we could be
If we stopped seeing life as a competition
And started believing and working
Together.

Oh the things we do for love.
We go to war,
We ****,
We lie,
We steal,
We cheat.
But one of the saddest of all
Is we try to be someone everyone else loves
Rather than loving ourselves.

I need to understand
That just because the timing was perfect for me
Doesn't mean it was perfect for you.
And no matter how hard I pray
There may never be a perfect time
For us.

One of my friends asked me why I got up so early.
I just told him I didn't know,
When really,
It's so that I don't stay up late,
And miss you.

With each passing day,
You slip a little further away from me.
So as I sit here in the nights alone,
I do everything I can
To keep you in my mind
Because losing you would not only
Break my heart,
It would break me.

If you want to keep me in your life
Then prove it to me.
I want to be there for you.
But only if you let me.

That this house of cards
Was not meant to stand

I guess the step I took
Was too heavy.
The thin ice finally broke
And we are slowly sinking
To the bottom.

There are so many things
That I love about you
It will take too long to name them all
So I'll name just a few.
The first thing I love about you
Is the way you smile
It makes me feel at peace and such
I haven't felt that for a while.
The second thing that I love
Is the way you're always there
I can text you about the dumbest things
Like how I cut my hair.
The third thing that I love about you
Is that you make me feel strong
When I talk to you the endless nights
Never seem as long.
The fourth thing that I love about you
Is the way you say oh my
I don't know why but seeing that
Makes me want to fly.

Is the way you hold me in your arms
When you wrap them tight around me
I feel protected from all harm

Are the faces that you make
I'll do anything to see them again

My life is a raging storm

If I knew this was our last goodbye
There's so much that I would say
I would start by reading you the poem
How you take my breath away.
Then I would say thank you
For not saying goodbye
And when you said you weren't scared of being cut
I started to cry.
Those words meant so much to me
Since I'd lost hope for someone who cared
But to me those couple words
Said if you need me I'll be there.
You made me feel like I matter
And that my many flaws do not define me
When you're around I can be myself
And it makes me feel happy
Your friendship means so much to me
So much more than I can say
And I really hope that this poem
Doesn't scare you away
But roses are red and violets are blue

I would try to count the stars

It's okay,

I have flaws, many of them.
I have issues, many of them.
I have insecurities, tons of them.
But despite my flaws and imperfections
I will love you with everything I have.

I think that we are all made to be alone,
But when we find someone who makes
The loneliness seem less lonely
And the silence a little lighter,
We call it love
