Thoughts
Phia Aug 2016
I won't tell you to not be sad
Because someone out there has it worse,
Because often times, there's nothing worse
Than being stuck in your own mind.
I've been doing a lot of self reflection lately...

A reminder
Phia Aug 2016
We always complain about our lives
The lack of things we've done and seen,
But sometimes we forget to remind ourselves
That we are living someone else's dreams.
Not saying that someone's problems aren't important, and I will never say that someone has it worse, but just remember to be grateful for what you've got

And brought me out of the dark
You shined light on my heart

Fit together
Phia Aug 2016
And it's okay, maybe we're both a little broken,
But that's okay,
Because it turns out our broken pieces
Fit together perfectly.

Wings
Phia Aug 2016
You didn't give me a set of wings,
You simply showed me the beautiful pair
That I had never knew I had.
Oh me, oh my, take these broken wings and fly

You told me
Phia Aug 2016
You told me that you loved the rain
I should've known it was a lie
When you realized I am a hurricane
You quickly said goodbye

In between
Phia Aug 2016
Caught in between not wanting to give up on us
Because everyday could be our last
And
Caught in between wanting to give up
For the exact same reason.
Love him because I'm not promised tomorrow? Or let him go because I need to find someone to treat me better

; (project semicolon)
Phia Aug 2016
So far you are
An entire novel
In a single paragraph.
Don't end your story
Before it's truly begun
Project semicolon. This is to those who made the choice to keep living, to not end their story too soon no matter how badly they wanted to. Stay strong, you're golden ♡♡♡♡

Rain walk

Not even a long walk in the rain
Could  wash away the disgusting feeling
Your touch left behind.

What will happen?
Phia Aug 2016
So tell me,
Where are we going this time?
Are we both going to fall?
Be madly in love?
Or are you going to be
Just another person
Passing by
With no intention to stay?

What i want
Phia Aug 2016
I don't want kisses on the lips.
Kiss my forehead instead.
I don't want movie dates
I want walks in the rain.
I want nights on the couch
Curled up with you.
Reading poetry
And drinking tea.

Song bird

That sad moment
When a song bird
Loses her voice.
I love to sing. But lately I've had no desire to.

Phia Aug 2016

It didn't matter
How hard I tried,
How much I loved,
Because it's obvious
That we were doomed
Right from the very start

Perfect match
Phia Aug 2016
We were the perfect couple,
We were like a match.
We burned bright
And strong,
And faded fast.
Nothing but a mere whisper
Of smoke
Left behind.

You are enough
Phia Aug 2016
You wondered if it was because
You weren't enough.
But I wish I could shake your shoulders
And say,
You were more than enough
So full of life.
You were too much for his small mind
To handle.

Thoughts on Racism
Phia Aug 2016
So where are you from?
The teacher asked me,
No greeting,
Nothing.
Just those five words.
As I stared blankly, shocked.
Are you Korean or Japanese?
Do you speak chinese?
You must be really good at math.
It's majority rules not minority rules.
Go back to where you came from.

I am from china.
I do not speak the language.
I ******* **** at math,
I was adopted.
And Im right where I'm supposed
To be.
I face these things everyday. Racism hurts. This "poem" doesn't begin to describe it. Be careful of the words you use.

Colours
Phia Aug 2016
Everything was black and white,
And then I saw you in colour.
Phia Aug 2016
If I ever saw you again
I would say
I'm sorry.
For everything that I've done.
But since I know I won't
I'll just scatter the words
In poems that I know
You'll never read.

Here lies the memory of a girl
Who used to have a heart of gold
Who was filled with warmth and happiness
Until the world went and made her cold.
Here lies the memory of a girl
Who heard music and sang along
But now she lays vacant with tears in her eyes
When she hears that exact same song.
Here lies the memory of a girl
Who wished upon the stars
But instead of counting wishes
She now spends her nights counting her scars.
Here lies the memory of a girl
Who would play in the rain,
And now she spends that time using it
To wash away the pain.
Here lies the memory of a girl
Who didn't guard her heart
But who now has 6 inch steel walls
To keep it from falling apart.
Here lies the memory of a girl
Who believed in happy endings
Who's heart is now broken
One she's constantly mending.
Here lies the memory of a girl
Who is now dead,
Who paints art on her skin with needles
Replaced by the demons in her head.

I want to remind you of the sun,
Its light will come again,
And no matter how dark it seems to get
The darkness always ends.
And I know it may seem impossible
Like it will forever go on
But I'm telling you the darkest hour
Is just before the dawn.

For when you're feeling down
Phia Aug 2016
Please take a breath and hear my words
For they were meant for you,
On the cold and bitter days
That you don't think you can get through.
I want to remind you that this life
May be hard but you are strong,
And anyone who says otherwise
Is straight up wrong.
I want to remind you of the sun,
Its light will come again,
And no matter how dark it seems to get
The darkness always ends.
And I know it may seem impossible
Like it will forever go on
But I'm telling you the darkest hour
Is just before the dawn.
Sometimes we fall and need help up
Because we can't do it alone
And if this happens please ask for help
Because I promise you're not on your own.
You've still got mountains to climb
So many things to do and see,
And I promise you it's worth it in the end
I promise you you'll be happy.
My attempt at a positive, pick-me-up poem. Sorry if it *****

The way she cried
Phia Aug 2016
She wasn't the kind of person
Who sobbed loudly.
No.
She was the kind of person
Who hid her tears from everyone.
Who cried late at night when
Everyone else was asleep.
Who had to grab her stomach
To hold herself together.
Who silently gasped for air.
Who had no one but the moon
To comfort her

You promised that
When you left you
Wouldn't forget about me,
But darlin did forget
About me
And the saddest part is,
You haven't left yet.
