Insomniac
Mama told me to be careful in the gardens.
She said sometimes ivy is hidden between the flowers;
It's poisonous.
I would still play in them,
Their beauty pulling me in,
Innocently.
I failed to realize what she meant,
At the time.
But now life has taught me
To see the ivy,
Entwined with every flower I see.

Haydn Swan
When we view our world through a tear,
it becomes distorted, blurred
and imprisoned within itself,
yet we have only to stretch forth a hand,
to let it permeate the glass-like walls,
allowing us to glimpse beyond its boundaries,
the clear, pure waters that lay on the other side,
regaining our clarity of vision and releasing the soul,
if only for the briefest of moments.

Left me arm wide open dislocated water pipe
Spilling my remains upon hardwood floors
Drained sponge shell
Parts missing
Love longing

At what point do scars start looking normal
When did I become a picture of my past mistakes
These scars lay within my playing organs
Musical chair
Broken symphony

Read these scars like a bedtime story over the phone
Don't get too close to my
Yet use your words wisely
Fading ghosts
Interrupted dreams
Some words don't have an explanation other than the poem itself. This falls in that category.

Creep
Reality is a nightmare,
And my dreams have slowly been infested
With it.
Is there no rest for the wicked?
This pain,
This aching...
It never stops does it?
This is halloween
By danny elfman (in the night before christmas soundtrack)

There is always the sun after the storm
The bandage after the cut
The warmth after the cold
The smile after the tear
The music after the silence
The dawn after the darkness
And  the good after the bad.
There is always something after another
It's just the cycle of life.
Don't give up

Chefy Stuff

Yeah I can do the Chefy stuff
Food art on a plate
It makes the perfect picture
And the flavors are so great
You can pay a fortune
To eat a meal like this
But
I'd much rather sit down
To a plate of fish and chips
Or
In these months of cold, of wind
Hours of sleet and snow
Nothing else is better
Than a nourishing bowl of stew
Rough diced meat
Ten kinds of veg simmered for hours on the hob
Thick rich gravy and potato mash
Now that really does the job
Now that is food to keep you warm
Keep winters assault at bay
Something to be eaten at any time of day
Yes I can do the Chefy stuff
And for you that might be just fine
But give me the rustic country foods
I'll take that every time...
FOOD, FOOD, FOOD
