I stand with pride, I know it all
Though you can see, I bow, I fall
Whenever wind whispers my name
I bend my knees but stay the same

Whatever life would offer me
I will accept but I'm still free
I know how odd, it's like a game
I bend my knees but stay the same

The joy life brings would make me smile
Though sadness gazes for a while
When there's a will, just keep the flame
I bend my knees but stay the same

When sorrow's there to walk with me
Eyes are open to let me see
I'll still walk through yet like a lame
I bend my knees but stay the same

When sunbeam's there to scorch my skin
I wouldn't runaway or shin
I'll walk with pride but not with fame
I bend my knees but stay the same

When rain is there to stay with me
I'll never cry for I can see
It comes to heal, care for my name
I bend my knees but stay the same

That's how I live, how strong I am
Though storms may pass, though troubles come
I am still me, I'm on my frame
I bend my knees but stay the same.
Kyrielle
A Kyrielle is a French form of rhyming poetry written in quatrains (a stanza consisting of 4 lines), and each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the poem consists of only eight syllables. There is no limit to the amount of stanzas a Kyrielle may have, but three is considered the accepted minimum.

Some popular rhyming schemes for a Kyrielle are: aabB, ccbB, ddbB, with B being the repeated line, or abaB, cbcB, dbdB.

Mixing up the rhyme scheme is possible for an unusual pattern of: axaZ, bxbZ, cxcZ, dxdZ, etc. with Z being the repeated line.

The rhyme pattern is completely up to the poet.

I am but a small child watching
Men and women, here and there
In every corner there's a heart, caring
I can hear love songs everywhere

Two people from different ends, dating
Words in real world, unspoken
Here in white canvass they're painting
All is fair in love, sides are even

I am wondering what is this love
What is the miracle that it creates?
Why two people could meet up above
Why are they call themselves as soulmates?

I am but a small child watching
I even wonder what love will do to me
When I grow up, could I be that caring?
When I fall in love, what kind of woman could I be?
love is everywhere :)

I always see forever in my angel's eyes
I believe that tomorrow for us never dies
I feel him here, a man so kind and wise
Yet everyday, his love is a great surprise

Never did I see that forever is true
A better tomorrow becomes bitter for you
Devotion is a lie, it's an illusion, too
A cruel fate until you fall through

Oh, an illusion for someone with hatred
Why I should listen to you who's outdated?
What I know is love is something that's sacred
I don't want now my time to be wasted

Ha! Hate just brings too much weight
Perhaps, love is an infatuation state
Temporary as it is, a passing moment to abate
Time is wasted into dreams that don't conflate

Why do you always tell me what you think?
Those things in your mind they always slink
Don't you see your limits, your own brink?
Can't you just let me find my heart's missing link?

I am just seeing reality, thinking out loud!
Reality is crowded as life is full of cloud
A prince without a crown is not allowed
A heart lost in the dream town is now cowed

I know you have so much words to say
You can turn me down all the way
But I will still stand and hold my love's bouquet
Hand in hand we will walk forever and a day

I heard your cry Oh, Paris
From the hundred of bodies that fell on your ground
I heard the sobbing of your neighbors
I saw the tears of all the eyes watching you
You were trying to  move on from the tragic Charlie Hebdo Attack
But here you are again-
Broken and bruised
And my heart is breaking
My tears are rolling down my face
As I utter  a thousand why's

But...

I still hear the weeping from afar-
Palestine and Syria are still mourning for the death of their children,
India Heat Wave that killed more than two thousand,
The hundreds of migrants killed in sinking ship in the Mediterranean Sea,
The TransAsia Airways Flight 235 Crash in Taiwan,
The Germanwings Flight 9525 Crash into the French Alps,
The Earthquake in Nepal,
The Amtrak Train Derail in Philadelphia,
The Warehouse Explosion that killed a hundred in China,
The Reporter and Cameraman Killed live on TV,
The Refugee crisis,
The Hajj Pilgrimage Tragedy near Mecca
The series of calamities and tragedies in different parts of my dear Philippines-
The families of thousands of dead people are still in agony
These tragedies around the world
Gave those places the deepest cuts upon the bellies of the mothers
Wounds that connect to the hearts
And create scars that might be fresh until now

The world is in pain
And here are my tears again

I am praying for the world
Can we listen to those cries and open our hearts?

Let us  pray for you,  dear Paris
And for other places wich are still in misery

Let us pray for the world.

~~¤~~
Please don't misunderstand.  I am also praying for Paris.  But many places are still suffering.  Please include them in our prayers.

I'm your precious light
But still
We can't create
One life

Thick skin, big body and sharp teeth, they slay
These greedy animals hunt for their prey

Their goal is to get all what they want
In the darkness of the night they usually hunt

Crocodiles and snakes, they attack like storms
How big are those reptiles as compared to the worms?

Now modern predators are in tuxedo’s and suits
With shiny eyeglasses or well-polished boots

These greedy creatures scattered in this world
They always make the biggest stories ever told…
Epigram

Epigrams are satirical poems ending with either a humorous retort or a stinging punch line.

Used mainly as expressions of social criticism or political satire, the most common forms are written as a couplet: a pair of rhymed lines in the same meter.

Practitioners of this poetic expression include John Dunne, Ben Jonson, William Blake and Robert Frost.

"Liar!" he said

"Yes, I am", she replied.
"Remember, I don't love you"

"Really?" he smiled
Then embraced her

Because she's a pretty liar.

Word

Dhaye Margaux Mar 2015
Promises of you are like some dreams
I watch them like the stars in sky
It's not like I never believe nor trust
We just don't know the will of time

Chances here and now are silly like a child
That sometimes make this space so long
It's not like I never have faith in love
We just don't know if we sing the right song

Yet promises are like precious gifts
We keep them to hold the joy of heart
But dreams are still dreams to come true
Like a wish upon a shooting star
Once there was a shooting star...
Dhaye Margaux Apr 2015
We had another date, for me a quality time
A situation I always want to have
We shared our laughter with our silliness
Sweetheart, you're my greatest gift from above!
Thank you for making me smile. :)

There are so many How's and Why's
Too much questions before my eyes
How could I move on?, Why should I die?
How could I stand?, Why there's goodbye?
How should I start?, Why one would lie?
I need to break this aching tie...
Die and live again...

How many nights will I look next to me
Only to see a pillow and not you, my dear?
How many times I will whisper your name
Only to prove that you will never hear?
How many paper rings I will make
Only to fold and hide them somewhere?

How many poems I shall recite
Only to tell them nothing is about me?
How many times I will tell a lie
And assume something I don't see?
How many times I will hear a song
And let imagination feed my fantasy?

How many times I will cry
With this cut that I need to mend?
How can I stand and how long?
Will you come? Tell me, baby, tell me when...

Or I am just dreaming again?

Flick a flack fleck--that sound again
Makes me smile every now and then
Each drop always soothes my palm
It always makes me so calm
Ah!I love to hear it sing
It touches me with its ring
Flick a flack fleck--that sound again
Makes me smile every now and then.

When I hear you
I picture someone strong
Cannot be defeated
By any war or storm

When I see you
I witness someone bright
Cannot be fooled
By the intriguing norm

When I touch you
I feel someone gentle
Heart is soft and tender
Despite of her bruises

When I kiss you
I find someone loving
Soul is clean and pure
No cruelty and harshness

When I am with you
I discover life
And all the love
I have in me

With this love
I am alive
You freed my soul
Now, I am free!
You and I...we're just the same.

You say you love me
But your deeds tell me you don't
So it is fair and just
Release me now
And I swear
We will both live in serenity

For I don't want to grow old
Hating you
For keeping me
In your cage of lies
Too narrow road,
So small world
Hard to breathe
Dhaye Margaux Feb 2015
Here I am again, my dear
Reading our past conversations
Oh, it seems only yesterday
Where we don't have limitations

I wish you can feel me
How I want to cry when doing this
How I  deeply miss you
How I long for your kiss

We have a great story
The best story ever told
How I am thankful having you
A man with a heart of gold.
Feels good to look back where they have started until this day that they are holding each others' heart.

Maliit man at hamak ay lalaban ako

Salamat, salamat, aking kaibigan
Pag-ibig na busilak aking iingatan
Hanggang sa pagtanda, hanggang kamatayan
Pagkakaibigan ay walang hangganan.
For a true friendship....thank you!

I walked and ran
In crowded place
I stopped and gazed
At solemn face

I saw your tears
I felt your pain
It crushed my heart-
For what you gain

You looked at me
Then our eyes met
You asked for help
Without regret

You said you need
Is not my mind
But heart that sees
What's hard to find

So I answered
Your breaking call
To help you stand
And not to fall

But as I see
Inside your heart
The pain and gloom
Tear me apart

I sworn to Him
To be your guide
To help you through
And not to hide

To my surprise
You made me see
The light in you
Shining on me

We are the same
I realized
Some good things kept
Be recognized

An angel dear
You are to me
Now I do feel
Now I can see

So let us soar
And go somewhere
Let's spread the light
And goodness there

This is our goal
We have to face
Let's share the love
And be amazed!
You and I...

Her past, a very dark sky
Faced storms but never knew why

She gave her heart so pure
The hurt and pain, without a cure

She dreamt of a new sky
To the past she waved goodbye

She tried to follow the flow
Of a future she wouldn't know

Broken were her wings yet tried
Believed there's an angel at her side

Yes, she dreamt of a new, different sky
Yet above, it's the same dark sky...
Destiny...

Too many roads I have to cross
And too much pain I have to bear
Too many seas I have to sail
Now there’s one mask I have to wear.

Sing me a song that lifts me up
Paint a picture that speaks up, too
Tell me the word that’s not too sharp
I only want the  best from you.

Give me a flow’r with gentle scent
Save the petals to gain my strength…
I made this poem in 10 minutes as my entry to a contest with the following rules:

-use "too" and "too" differently
-use of "much" and "many"
-use of the word "petals"
-those 5 words shall appear in any of the 10 lines (5 in 10)

We were both given
A second chance to be happy
Should we take it for granted?
Problems are just normal
Parts of this troubled journey
If we stop for a small obstacle
The chance to reach the end of the path
Will be impossible
We have been struggling against the storms
We face them together
I know we can still go on
Because this is our second chance
And we won't take this for granted...
never give up

Shall I hate the  time for not being kind?
Shall I get mad of it for confusing my mind?
Or shall I look pass of it like a serious blind
Even when today I am left behind?

Shall I hate the raindrops  for being cold
When they always think of me being bold?
When I want to touch and long to hold?
This feeling of mine seems uncontrolled.

Shall I hate the space between us, dear
All the feeling's faint and nothing's clear?
Shall I tell you more about my fear
What's hurting me, sharp as a spear?

Shall I hate the world for being failed
When pain's the only thing that prevailed?
Shall I hate this life like someone jailed
When it's too much late the truth is unveiled?
A passing mood...

You can caress me or slap me on my face without touching me, my dear

For you I am a fool,
I am a dupe and never that cool;
We don’t have similarities,
Only differences and inconsistencies.

You’re like a book  of Metaphors,
While I am just a little brochure;
Your mouth was full of idioms
While mine has  Ironies  and Personifications.

Despite that I offered you
A friendship which for me is true;
You just frown at me in disgust
Like I’m a nobody to trust.

You and I, we’re opposite
Two different ends that never meet;
The moments that we talk and chatter
Were  the times we shared to attack  each other.

I now accept that I’ve never been
A friend to you, just stupid and mean;
So forget the time you knew my name
Each shouldn’t be a friend to claim.
Cat and Dog we are

You said I am silly
I used to sit on your lap while you're watching tv

You said I am naughty
I used to perform belly dancing while you want to write freely

My boy,  I am not mad,  really
Teasing you once in a while can make me happy

Because after you said that to me
You bathe me with kisses that taste like honey
Sometimes I am

That  time I heard your song
I gained that hope in me
That waiting won’t be long
I’ll speak my mind so free.

You lead me in this way
I thanked you for that gift
But why you’ve gone away?
You left me not with drift.

Did you just lead me here
To start a brand new life?
Or you just felt that fear
Now that you see the strife?

I looked back at the page
Where you and I were free
I heard your song with shade
While you heard what’s on me.

It seems now I’m alone
This world won’t be lovely
Please let me hear your song
That song you sang for me.
That song...

Someday you'll understand
Someday you'll realized
Someday you will find...

I have been real
I have been true
In the midst of your cloudy thoughts
And fearful heart

You were afraid to analyze
You hesitated to see
You forgot to understand
You have chosen to be bothered

That I was just like the water
Which shape or form depends on my container
And that's how you see me

But I still love you
No matter what
A passing emotion...

My love is like the weather
with ever changing mood
Sometimes he is so funny
sometimes he's feeling good

Sometimes he is sensitive
like who I am today
Sometimes he waits for me
sometimes he cannot stay

But whoever he is
and whatever he feel
I know he truly loves me
I know that it is real

I accept him wholeheartedly
because my love is true
For true love always understands
I love him, yes I do!
Love...no matter what

I try to smile and laugh
But my lips turn numb and dry
I try to sing a song
But I can't and all I can do is cry

I cannot tell, I cannot shout
And my tongue seems tied
I cannot show my love for you
It will remain a mystery I hide

Somewhere in my broken heart
I see all memories that passed
I see your face, I feel your skin
Somewhere in the broken there's us
For the broken-hearted ones....

I
It's been a while I didn't write me a song
For all those chances,  I have written just for you
This is just fair,  being fair to myself
That for once I sing a song for me

II
I've learned to see and feel my pain
That once were hidden or I was blind to see
It was not fair,  been unfair to myself
I've sang more songs,  but nothing was for me

~~
Oh,  I've been waiting for this moment
That I see myself in the mirror
Standing tall,  smiling alone
Full of hope and love for myself
Let me love myself,  let me be free
For once I need to be alone
Let me see the beauty of freedom
Let me sing this song for me

III
Tonight is the night I'll sleep with peace
No heartache,  no pain within me
For I let them go, those tears and fears inside
So I can sing this song for me

~~
Oh,  I've been waiting for this moment
That I see myself in the mirror
Standing tall,  smiling alone
Full of hope and love for myself
Let me love myself,  let me be free
For once I need to be alone
Let me see the beauty of freedom
Let me sing this song for me
No tune for now but hope I can do it on the next weekends...
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
You once promised me of eternity
That love I never asked but you insisted
Then I trusted my life to you like I cannot see
What will tomorrow brings to the one who's been dazzled.

Then I felt the blindfold was taken from my eyes
I saw who we were in this teeming lair
We're birds of different plumage, take a glance
We can't stay longer with each other's air.

And I know soon I'll become a memory
Which will stay in your mind for just some time
I doubt it if you'll still remember me
And the pains you caused in this heart of mine.

I still thank you for the times we had
You gave me my angel though she's gone now
And don't dare to come back, please don't strive
For you are just a fleeting memory somehow...
Waiting to be erased...
Dhaye Margaux Mar 2016
If you come to me in the middle of the night
Don't presume that I will open the door right off the bat
Never question my sophrosyne, it is for my protection
For I was once a prey of pinchers, my great destruction
When I welcomed them with my open arms
They just robbed my house and did much harm

You were the breeze
The one that I once embraced
And imagined I can hold and keep
One night in that fine summer

Like a ghost you stayed for a while
I felt your kisses and hugs
I was in love the way we were
But that was one fine summer night

Another summer has come
And I can do nothing but to trace
Where I felt your hugs and kisses
And when the love started

I came back to this shore
To find whatever has left
But it only hurt me,  just like before
Knowing that the breeze had passed
And won't come back anymore

Sweet words, sweet melodies
Make a reader fall in love
Create a fantasy land inside her mind
Where a fairy tale is true
And dream is reality

I want to tell her:
"Beware! Don't swoon."
But I saw her smile
How cruel I am to end her joy
I am not

For I see the same smile
When I look at the mirror
While hearing same words
Sweet to the soul
Go on. Be happy.
Life is short. Live to love.

We do want to be loved, don't we?
But it is different from sympathy

When you are down and they see your tears
When you almost give up from all of your fears

When you feel you're alone and no one's at your side
When things went wrong and there's no one to guide

When all your deeds were not right all along
When you feel different and can't find where you belong

When you feel all your goals stay undone
When your weakness pushes you to depend on someone

When you feel someone came along to care
When the person doesn't feel the same and you're not aware

We do want to be loved, don't we?
But please don't expect for love when the truth is it's just his sympathy...
