I live in the sun
She lives in the snow
My days are hot
Hers ten below

She dresses in layers
I’m shorts and a T
She builds a snowman
I play at the sea

She’s starting a fire
My A/C is on
She’s under a blanket
I’m out on the lawn

But she is so hot
And I am a fool
Living down here
And not where it’s cool

I’m packing my bags
Now ready to go
Leaving the sun
I’m off to the snow

And yes it is cold
There might be a storm
But held in her arms
I know I’ll be warm

And live ever after
Until I am old
No, not in the sun
With her in the cold
Brrrrrrr...but it's worth it.
A wise man once said:
“Wrong life cannot
Be lived rightly” [1]
Many become aware of
This fact, but rather than
Taking action, they instead
Resign themselves, to
Hopelessness and despair,
As doubt rears its ugly head,
Asking: “what can one person do?”
All the while, neglecting the fact
That this world overflows with
People who are just like they are,
Each of them “just” one, and
Each alone bearing the same burden,
Indeed, on the back of “just” one,
This burden is crushingly heavy, but
On the backs of many, it becomes
Lighter than a fallen leaf
Adrift in the autumn breeze.
Let's not forget that when this country was founded, people who owned no property couldn't vote, black people were slaves, women had no rights, child labor was legal, and the working day was 12-16 hours. All of these conditions were overcome by means of popular struggle. The ruling class would prefer that we atomize and detach from one another; ignoring this rich, wondrous history, and eschewing politics. Will we appease them?

•i've depleted my font,
my creative well•for each
day passed, with a story to tell
•staining white and barren land-
scapes•by sculpting my words into
myriad shapes•from factory fumes to
a wedding ring•an ominous tombstone
to a flash of lightning•an hourglass to track
elapsing time•the untold story behind a loved

•it's been quite a stretch but
all in good fun•rest assured that
more will come when the time is
right•for now i'll turn off my
bedside lamp and bid
you all a goodnight•

Oh, the fertile mind of a child, plant a thought and watch it grow wild

So much to explore, and they always want more, with such vigor, which leaves me beguiled

Tend it well, give it light, plant good seeds, keep it bright,
most of all keep it safe from the prey

Using love as the feed, it is all that you need to keep it warm at the end of the day!
