Summer
she's a *****
with a stinging bite
the unction she pours down
is searing of tongue
in a few weeks
she'll call in these precincts
her vengeful temperature
shall assail us
we'll not be spared
of her ruthless heat
as she torments us
with her meaty
bleat

Ten Word Poem
many hundreds of dappled shadows
played on the forest's floor
he cast a spell on me
that man of wizardry
he cast a spell on me

that man of wizardry
he kept a love potion in his satchel
that man of wizardry

he kept a love potion in his satchel
his magic was very potent
he kept a love potion in his satchel

his magic was very potent
it attracted me like a magnet

it attracted me like a magnet
I was drawn into his proximity
it attracted me like a magnet

I was drawn into his proximity
his abracadabra wand so satiates

his abracadabra wand so satiates
sublime is the sorcery he employs

sublime is the sorcery he employs
he has me where he wants me

Autumn Boughs
as the leaves fell
from the autumn boughs
he recalled to mind
their wedding vows
the golden maple hues
reminded him of her wedding ring
it stood for something lasting
yet their love died
in the cooling wind's chill
which was for him
a most bitter pill
the brown colors of November
tumbled into his heart
for his once loving wife
did depart
his eyes filled with tears
as the skies
clouded in grey
their betrothal of love
on the autumn boughs
drifted away

Forevermore
darling take me by the hand
lead me to wonderland
where the stars divinely twinkle
with magnificent sprinkles

how sweet the world will be
as we embrace so tenderly
the bird choruses shall sing
in a tune so lovely

darling our hearts
entwining in an enduring togetherness
darling our kisses
celebrating a combined happiness

our love shall be a jewel
of facets rare
staying in perpetuity
of a loving air

with your hand in mine
we'll sublimely adore
our lives in union
lasting until forevermore

Vents
there's a new man
on the beat
he's caused the ladies
to be in heat

they're circling him
with their alluring scent
which one will he
take on a bent

they're all falling
at his feet
as he appears to be
somewhat of a treat

everyone of them
must be up for rent

the frenzied ladies

Metaphors For Thoughts
I'm a captured tooth nerve
amalgam appeased
restrained in containment
by my keeper
then I can be a prisoner escaping the jail
free to do as I pleased
my warder has lost the keys of control
on dark days
my fathoms swirl in murky mass
infused with blinding kelp
on good days
my porthole shows clearness
of eye
the glass reflects well
just to confuse
my ore's composition
is misunderstood
metamorphic
the translations
changing
minute by minute
hour by hour
these ones are buggers
my microscope
isn't good with it's definition
will I won't I
who knows
my borders are contested
being diplomatic
I make pacts and treaties
no monickers
the tried and tested
gentleman's agreement
that will do
my margins can be
thick or thin
comments fit it
usually they range
between insult and praise
depending on the mood
I often go to open cut mines
to find common minerals
useful on a daily basis
real effort is called for
when I delve into deep shafts
sometime gems are quarried
precious ones to behold

well enough said
a letter is to be written
dear meditative home
we're returning soon
p.s. if we're delayed after hours
leave the porch light on

The Crown
there stood the queen
in her dressing gown
upon her face she wore
a very long frown

for she had lost
her diamond and ruby crown
she hoped it would be found
before sundown

she called Scotland Yard
to search every locale
as without her crown
she'd be an unadorned gal

inspector Jones arrived
in his ex-army jeep
telling the queen
that he'd catch the thieving creep

he thoroughly combed
every inch of England
he even looked under
the white Dover sands

a lady in central Manchester
gave him an address
saying that a felon in Soho
had the crown of queen Bess

high and low in the streets
of Soho he did look
to find this most
cunning and stealthiest of crooks

by a measure of luck
he found him sitting on a park bench
he was talking to
a criminal associate named Roger Dench

the inspector seized the felon
and cuffed his hands
saying pilfering won't be tolerated
in any part of England

at Scotland he grilled
him for information
about the queen's crown
which he pinch without hesitation

some three days later
he fronted an Old Bailey judge
who sentenced him
to sixteen years of jail drudge

overjoyed was the queen
to have her crown back
she could now wear it
to The Ascot Race Track

the inspector was knighted
by good queen Bess
as he was a fine man
at the detection profess

spring's vivid colors
lay in winter's white cocoon
waiting to burst forth
Thy love shall never waver or deviate
A harmonic union we'll always keep
Our hearts and souls to ever correlate
Dearest thy pool of love for you so deep
Our garden shall be full of loveliness
Thy dreams coming true we'll be entwining
No sweeter day for sublime happiness
Together our future full of shining
We'll sail on beautiful clouds endlessly
Thy is manifold with delight this day
In paradise we'll reside eternally
Our cup of love overflowing, so say
With our sacred marriage vows enshrined
We'll be affectionately combined

said the client to his lawyer...

and one day you'll be locked

said the lawyer to his client...

and we'll be a jolly lot

Jade (Italian Sonnet)
E'er Jade doth stride around the location
Oft showing her striking covetous glare
Some folks have been on the end of her stare
She's an expert at this vocation
On any given day her eyes cast their shade
Deep of green much greener than pasture land
Unmistakable the look of her brand
One may have sighted her verdant parade
She is possessed of a jealous focus
Desirous tendencies in her makeup
At this moment she is looking around
Her keen scope may well be trained on us
E'er she stays her course and ne'er gives up
Her peepers always scouting on the ground

Whimsical Ways
love is so transient
this I know to be true
all the men I've ever loved
                                           have deserted my camp
to seek out blooms anew
                                        a stone barrier protects
my heart these days
                                 for I am cognizant
of a man's whimsical ways
she took her own life by way of a rope
on a shearing shed rafter she hung
with life's stresses she couldn't cope

there was no oxygen present in her lungs
this is what her daughter Emma found
on a shearing shed rafter she hung

much shock and sadness was around
her depressive condition she did hide
this is what her daughter Emma found

Jean decided to take a suicide ride
ever so devastated were her kith and kin
her depressive condition she did hide

the air of life is a vapor so very thin
one should be thinking of existing
ever so devastated were her kith and kin

on a death ticket Jean did her traveling
one should be thinking of existing
she took her own life by way of a rope
with life's stresses she couldn't cope
This piece is based on a true story...the lady the poem is written about was a friend and work colleague.

she was a woman of riper years
he was a boy without any fears
they met and fell deeply in love
they were as tight as a well fitting glove

their romance didn't waver
it grew stronger by the day
their feelings for one another
held like a well bound clay

something real and so true
existed between the loving two
their bond was a sweet sticking glue
the age difference came not between the two

the skeptics didn't give them a chance
at having a long lasting romance
they defied the odds big time
to this day their hearts still chime

she was a woman of riper years
he was a boy without any fears
they met and fell deeply in love
they were as tight as a well fitting glove

oh how foolish
the heart can be
to allow a slithering creature
into its atrium so freely

Winter Man's Flavor
our honeymoon was fabulous at the start
then our love story fell quickly apart
this terrible occurrence wasn't foreseen
when it happened our dream lost its sheen

as with everything in life an end did arrive
we realized our love wouldn't survive
some said as I got older things would change
their advisories weren't so strange

here I am to-day thinking about my love
and how he got too hot for this turtle dove
I once so adored his scorching sunniness
but the heat he exerted finished in dryness

my darling summer man now isn't in favor
I've become partial to a winter man's flavor

where to start my mission
I haven't a clue

tons of it cover

and there are kilos of it
on the six inch skirting boards

but I haven't enough energy

maybe the dusting can wait

Within it he placed his pearl's treasure
Each stroke of his ardor twas truly strong
Her ******* were so scrumptious of tang

Sensuality set both of them astir
Their meeting had a hothouse guitar twang

Their sweat beads did flow on the bed sheets

Primal urges upon them made a call
In the starlight they performed their feats

Realm's Days
around the raging fire
there shall be a cheerful bash
as his huge empire
is burnt to a blackened ash

the wheel shall turn
he shall be completely wiped out
for he has treated some
with an unfair clout

his band of supporters
shall feel sympathy for him
yet in other quarters
there will only be contempt of him

laughter shall be heard
in every nook and cranny on the planet
as his ashes are lain
beneath a slab of granite

the mighty do fall
he is no exception
for his type of person
there is not an inkling of redemption

these words are uttered
in a temper of passion
as he never exhibited
any form of compassion

time nears for his kingdom
to be eaten by a blazing fire
it shall be a highly combustible
unquenchable fire

thy mind's eye
sees this scene play
there shall be an ending
to his realm's days

Kansas Dust Storm (1935)
across the Kansas plains
in nineteen thirty five
a soot black dust storm
did relentlessly drive

it consumed everything
in it's blinding path
houses and sheds were
covered in a dark bath

drought and the failure
of good rains to fall
had caused this most
horrifying gloomy wall

the folks of the plains
thought the end was nigh
so they loaded up their kit
and said goodbye

over the plains country
the dust held a gritty splay
and its dark ***** plume
lasted for some days

states further south
of Kansas were affected too
as it swept into their borders
with it's black slew

Out On The Hustings
They're out on the hustings trying to garner a vote
They're all full of those tired old candidate quotes
They're telling us what they'll do for the electorate
Their policy platforms shall be subject to our debate

Just this week they've promised the electorate everything
Yet there is little substance to the songs they sing
The clock quickly counts down to election day
That's when us intelligent voters shall have our final say

We're sizing up the best of a bad bunch for a win
If he let's us down we'll remove his winning grin
A term in office is all he'll be receiving from us
So lets hope he's got the right motor in his bus

The rhetoric is freely flying around our state seat
Though not much of it has a well regulated beat
The candidates are all on notice at the May poll
That's when we'll see which heads will go for a roll

Forefather's Rail Proposal
Our town was to have a rail-line
Circa the mid eighteen nineties
This story has surprised my ears
A local amateur historian apprised me just recently
Documents to support this claim are archived in Sydney

Not far out of our town
On a well know property in the district
Two surveyor pegs are still in existence
Marking the route the rail-line was to track
Though the Forefather's rail-line was never bedded down

The powers that be government leaders of the day
Shelved these impressive plans
They never saw the light of day
Ribbons of steel not coming to fruition
Leading to our town

Other town went ahead rail-lines were established to them
Out town alas and alack missed out
Look where Tamworth and Armidale are to-day
Rail being in their favor
Our town was left to languish and to be dispirited
Going no-where no-where to go

Our Forefather's now lay in their graves
Not quite resting in peace
Their rail proposal for our town unrealized
Good ideas die along with good intentions
Hence their unsettled repose

Our town could have been a regional town
Industry and population dotting the landscape
Rail would have assured our place
The Forefather's rail proposal long since shelved
Consigned into the passing vapor of time
the sweet fragrance
of honeysuckle
did waft in the air
twas a bouquet
of beauty
for the lovers
to share
they strolled
amid the scent
as eve drew near
they spoke of their love
which would ever endear
neath the moonlight's luster
they caressed
in the honeysuckle's
loveliness

ink spilled so sublime, our words never slumbering
the quill verily sighted, in all time styles

the quill never slumbering, poetry lines written 24/7
gals and guys with metaphors, fly in from everywhere
at the hub they amass, sharing works fair
in styles ever so sublime, ink spilled all the time
bringing a verse of joy, in all countries around the globe
our words verily sighted, the assembly give them a cheer
