Creed
Trump defied all the odds
in the Presidential race
pundits and polls wrote off
his winner's face

but his tenure in the job
isn't an iron clad guarantee
if he doesn't serve the people
with the highest degree

they've taken a chance
on making him the big chief
and he must give of his best
for that's written in the brief

the American populous
are hoping he'll succeed
by showing a capacity
to be faithful to their creed

there was a rise in my overall

I'm chuffed at the rate increasing a

Note Worthy Fall
FBI agents will have Hillary
on a piece of toast
the revelations in her emails
their roasting oast

indictments for a log of illegalities
the law of the land catching her
with an appropriate measure

America's lady President
downed before her first term ends
amongst the patriotic citizenry
she'll have few friends

impeachment warranted
by the proof so positive
which will shed a light
on her in the negative

The Clinton Foundation

who were the beneficiaries
of the pay dirt's pail

she'll be found out
once and for all
the illicit nature of her dealings

Twitter RIP
the current prognosis

twitter's share price has

already RIPs have been

it hasn't faired well

that is why its flimsy
foundations shook

after a while the minute
by minute style of it
proved not to be such
a fabulous hit

investors withdrew
from the iffy trade
they became aware of its
sinking lade

stocks aren't going to improve
so the pundits say
would seem that the chirp
has faded away
In a poet's ink a birthing process starts*
Thoughts will sprout on the pages of creation
They can be written with any notation
These mere infants develop beating hearts
Growing to fully matured living kinds
Verses that which we'll remember in joy
They'll ever of our affections employ
Bringing their experiences to minds
Presence given by the words bestowed
Emotion's colours on reading a line
Out of imagination's depths begun
The many figures of speech nicely glowed
Each metaphor a child truly divine

Hooded Bats (Haiku Format)
hooded bats did fly
across the moon's shining face
making eerie shadows

every now and then

which chilled the spine

on Halloween night

The Mystery Of Poe's Death
Whatever happened on that fateful night
We can speculate in the dimness of light
Was found the poet who went by the name of Poe
Wandering a Baltimore street of long ago

Mystery surrounds this most tragic event
No witnesses came forth with telling to vent
His mind state must of been in utter disarray
Why would he not know of the foul play

In dishevelled ragged clothes he was clad
An injustice on his person had been so sad
Elections were taking place on the date
His registered title forged another's slate

To a hospital he was sent for treatment
Though his weakened constitution never bent
The man of letters died a loner's death
His last words were of God's sure breath

Who wanted the author disposed of back then
We'll ever conjecture on the character's pen

over an extended period one has seen their escapade

how fascinating for one to amusingly sight
it'll happen both by morning and beneath lamp light

being openly displayed inside the writer's ring
a piece was put up for everyone's eyes to review
without any notice the work vanished from view

Witty Kitty (Limerick)
There is a woman named Kitty
Who delivers lines so witty
The sharpness of each of them
Cuts through a laugher's stem
Slicing repartee Kitty will spree
the anthem of an empty soul*
a shell crammed full in nothingness
absolutely nil to this choral tune
vacancy's note played by one sole pan
there's a humdrum to its pitch
packing's plump the missing ingredient

always with an absence of ingredient
starved was this emaciated soul
not having the richest cloven pitch
inside infinite quantities of nothingness
ever the void sound to its pan
a totally scooped out dull tune

zero being in the husk of the tune
this cavernous space possessing no ingredient
like that of a dead hearted pan
as it had but the blankest soul
completely useless this bare nothingness
lacking of an ample vessel's pitch

such was the hopelessness to the pitch
its essence so poorly of tune
deprived this barren nothingness
the inner pith hollow of ingredient
all taken from the lifeless soul
where they'd be a destitute pan

an aimless chord in the pan
containing not a wholeness of pitch
the desert abiding without soul
insolvency was its lasting tune
so hungering for that ingredient
to quell the wretched nothingness

an interior gulf replete in nothingness
needful of feeding with a brimming pan
craving much for the ingredient
that ever opulent barrow of pitch
a human warbling a pitiful tune
this ballad so dismal of soul

ingredient not present, a vast nothingness
soul much overloaded, in an unfurnished pan
