deters your desires

People try standing
Hard as a rock
But even stone
Can be eroded
With something
Soft as water
Over time

The words escape me
I can't describe
What feelings left?
Which still subside?
The love I used to write about
Fell silent after years of doubt.
My mind has finally won the war
Against what my heart has fought for.
I'm moving on, in hopes to find
One more deserving of my time

We all have flaws
but I've accepted mine
and stopped battling them
because those who attempt
To fight them alone
Usually lose the most
The longer you stand
In your differences
The harder it becomes
To find the same.
