why do you wait until i've fallen
to try to hold me up?
why to you wait until i'm broken
to try to hold me together?
why do you only meet my eyes
when they're swollen and red?
is that when i'm worth noticing,
when my heart is all but dead?
~
        All the poems I write
     are
just the beginning
                              and end
               of every thought
   I've ever had about you.

The Noose
Impending doom reeks
Of a stench I cannot erase
Enswathed in condensed
Dithery smog
A chasm sighs open
As vast as the blue
In which I submit
To the pull of the tide
Without sound
Fade into ether
Exhale

Fathomless sentiment
Lingers in the trenches
Of a vacuous chest cavity
Devouring what remains
This freezing flame
Beneath skin,
Seething mercury
The wordless ache
Contained in the belly's pit.
how about a cheers?
A cheer to life.
A cheer to death.
A cheer to innocence.
A cheer to faults.
A cheer to mortality.
A cheer to damnation.
Though you might not think
some of these are worthy,
they all describe
some part of me.
So cheers to you.
you made it.
so did i.
Now lets breathe again,
and set off on our way
in a blur of hypothetical bliss
disappear into the wind
as we feel it gently tap our nose.
And then. we just.
go
cheers anyone?

this single earthly pulse
is lemon-slice palatable.
palms to earth, pulse to pulse.
the table is set and now we dine.
the only calm in life I feel is in the natural world.
