A picture's worth
One thousand words,
Yet there's only  one word
In "Selfie?"
The "I" creates
One thousand shots,
So shooters
Do your worse.

Me?
I eat embers of sunshine for breakfast
and wash them down with rain clouds.

I sit alone, but with the company of my worries floating around me
every minute I am here time slows down even more.
I don't know what I'm looking for..
but I know I need something;
Something that will take this pain away for at least a couple days.

When I'm with him It's like the times I have felt alone never happened
It's like I've only ever been happy my whole life
It's like loneliness ceases to exist
It's like I finally know how it feels to know I am really here.

But of course, when he leaves I sit alone waiting
Waiting for that change inside me
knowing it will never happen..
but still always having some hope in my heart that I will get better

I handed in my homework
Gave it with a nervous smile
the paper damp from sweaty palms,
the waiting was a trial.

Today I got my paper back
from the dreaded Mr Barr
he grinned at me and gave a wink....
along with an A*!

He said I made him chuckle
as he read my little rhyme,
he thought the rhyming clever
and the rhythm quite sublime

He asked me one last question
in the hallway where we met
with deep concern upon his brow
"Did you find your brother yet?"

Now I'm hiding in the bathroom
racing with the lesson bell
quickly writing this wee poem
to let you know my work did well.

This is more than a goodbye
more than a placeholder, or
a to be continued, this is a farewell
to everything both good and bad

This is all my fears, every last tear
placed on a platter, and I am forced to consume them
one by one, until I'm reminded
that nothing good lasts forever and everybody leaves

This is more than a death, more than a
resurrection, I know now the loneliness
Jesus felt in that tomb, but this emptiness I feel
is going to last a lot longer than 3 days

I will rise, slowly, dusting off
the remnants of a less-than heart
never to be the same again
too many tears have been shed, but

*I'll see you next lifetime

I keep losing followers....



but i realized

that despite the desprate fight of some


to get followers


I dont care.

I mean I know my poetry is good

if I have 12 followers


or 12000 followers


because I believe in myself

and you dont have to follow me

I dont mind

I dont need followers

I will get those

in time
