I never met a storm I didn't like
I wish I could say the same for people
Though sometimes I think
They have as little control
Of what they destroy
As storms

I think I could love anyone,
that shared a mountain coast with me.
Those rocks and rivers and beachfront caves?
I feel like a pirate.

And I believe not caring what others think,
Is a coward's way to self-esteem.
You can't make everyone happy
That doesn't mean you shouldn't try.

I can seem cold
But what you're hearing
Is precision
It makes sense when you love words
And hate being misunderstood.

I hate when people argue to be right
Instead of understand
It's self-indulgent
And dehumanizing
And so very me.

I'm such a nerd I'd need another poem
to convey how much
But I think it will suffice to say
If you like
Will McAvoy
The Dragonborn
Charles Spurgeon
Vault Dwellers
or the Crystal Gems
We'll probably get along.

And lastly
I only wrote this poem
Because I hate not having an answer
To "tell me about yourself."

It is ever the Holy Spirit’s work to turn our eyes away from self to Jesus; but Satan’s work is just the opposite of this, for he is constantly trying to make us regard ourselves instead of Christ. He insinuates, “Your sins are too great for pardon; you have no faith; you do not repent enough; you will never be able to continue to the end; you have not the joy of his children; you have such a wavering hold of Jesus.” All these are thoughts about self, and we shall never find comfort or assurance by looking within. But the Holy Spirit turns our eyes entirely away from self: he tells us that we are nothing, but that “Christ is all in all.” Remember, therefore, it is not thy hold of Christ that saves thee—it is Christ; it is not thy joy in Christ that saves thee—it is Christ; it is not even faith in Christ, though that be the instrument—it is Christ’s blood and merits; therefore, look not so much to thy hand with which thou art grasping Christ, as to Christ; look not to thy hope, but to Jesus, the source of thy hope; look not to thy faith, but to Jesus, the author and finisher of thy faith. We shall never find happiness by looking at our prayers, our doings, or our feelings; it is what Jesus is, not what we are, that gives rest to the soul. If we would at once overcome Satan and have peace with God, it must be by “looking unto Jesus.” Keep thine eye simply on him; let his death, his sufferings, his merits, his glories, his intercession, be fresh upon thy mind; when thou wakest in the morning look to him; when thou liest down at night look to him. Oh! let not thy hopes or fears come between thee and Jesus; follow hard after him, and he will never fail thee.

“My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness:

I dare not trust the sweetest frame,

But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.”
It’s too easy to trust God,
when Life is good, pleasant
and free of everyday strife.

When we’re comfortable, joy
is often experienced; lost is
sight of Him, Who gives Life.

Unfortunately, tragedy’s pain
is released upon us, whereby we
succumb to despair, unbelief

and the darkness that envelops
a World with sin’s rebellion.
We’re now unfocused; no relief

is available to our sad souls;
we’re swallowed by an evil that
stabs us… with merciless grief.

Calling Christ now, that is Faith-
when we choose to move forward,
rise up and reaffirm our beliefs

in the One, Who truly saves us.

'I have learned to kiss the waves that throw me up against the Rock of Ages'
-Charles Spurgeon.
NGANGO HONORÉ Feb 2022
The More you fail and keep willing to succeed, the more you get closer to it .

The contrary of passing is not failling .
Before thinking I'm wrong , go down the stairs of my understanding 🙃 and take your decision when you're at my depth .

The contrary of passing is understanding.

Because one can't have success before
failure,
One won't also pass without lacking to understand at a point .

This is a law without exceptions and thereby fulfil the the law that applies an exception to every other laws.

Take a look outside and relay what you see
The rainbow, the dew, mountain and tree
We look at them, yes but try to look deeper still
There is beauty complexity and a purpose to fill
The glory of creation reflecting the creator
Beauty so divine nothing could be greater
Who can look at nature and not be moved?
Who can truly see and say God cannot be proved?
Everywhere I turn there is beauty and grace
It brings a tear to my eye and a smile on my face
In a society so focused on progress and speed
We lose so much of what we desperately need
We miss the signs, and miracles and wonders
That are there just waiting to be found
The beauty of creation our Lord in glory crowned
So dance in the sun and run in the field
In smelling the roses, God’s love is revealed
The rainbow a promise of forgiveness and light
The stars to guide us through the night
Everything in life so perfectly designed
To try to comprehend just blows my mind
So next time don’t just look, but truly see
The majesty, the splendor, the art of God’s glory

"Doth not all nature around me praise God? If I were silent, I should be an exception to the universe. Doth not the thunder praise Him as it rolls like drums in the march of the God of armies? Do not the mountains praise Him when the woods upon their summits wave in adoration? Doth not the lightning write His name in letters of fire? Hath not the whole earth a voice? And shall I, can I, silent be?"

- Charles Spurgeon

"God writes the Gospel not in the Bible alone, but also on trees, and in the flowers and clouds and stars."

- Martin Luther

Lord thank you for the gift of nature and creation. So often, we are so preoccupied with life that we miss all that life and life in you has in store. Help us to see your fingerprints all over and have the childlike joy in the smallest things. Bless us Lord and open our eyes and hearts to not just look, but truly see your beauty and how much you mean to me. Amen
It is no use for a man to say ,
"I have made up my mind upon certain things ,"

and to keep doggedly fighting over those matters , while , at the same time , the whole of his life is unkind , ungenerous and unlovable .

Yes , by all manner of means be a martyr if you like ; but do not martyr everybody else .
(Spurgeon)
The God who restores-
C.S. Lewis once said that Failures are finger-post on the road to achievements

Let him make you whole again. When we fail, it is not the end of the road. Rather, it is an invitation to go further, to draw deeper into God's grace— a filled presence to grow in maturity.

Failure is an event not an identity.

Jesus is the God of restoration. Like the Japanese art "Kintsugi" where a broken pottery is repaired with gold to create an item valuable than the original, so God can repair your brokenness in a way that renews you with a priceless and precious purpose.

Restoration is not about erasing your mistakes, but building on them.

2. The God who heals your shame

Charles Spurgeon quotes that "We must not confide in the armour of God, but in the God of this armour, because all our weapons are only 'mighty through God'."

Shame can make us hide, doubt ourselves, or feel unworthy of love and purpose. It whispers that our failures define us, that our mistakes are permanent, and that we are too broken to be used by God. But God’s love works differently—He does not condemn your failures; He redeems them.

When you bring your shame to God, He meets you not with judgment, but with healing. He removes the burden that weighs on your heart and replaces it with freedom, confidence, and peace. His power is made perfect in your weakness, and through His grace, what once brought you shame can become a testimony of His glory.

You don’t have to carry shame alone. God sees you, knows your struggles, and invites you to step into the light of His acceptance and restoration. In Him, shame loses its hold, and you can walk boldly in the identity He has given you.
3. The God who speaks your future

Tony Evans said "God will meet you whenever you are in order to take you whenever He wants you to go.

God knows your potential. He sees the incredible YOU that is hidden inside you. He does not judge you by how you feel but he sees you for who you have created to be.

God sees so much more in you than you see in yourself.

4. The God who calls you by your name

Timothy Keller states that "It is not the strength of your faith but the object of your faith that actually saves you."

We take it all to God because the only one who can define you is God.

The question is "Who will you allow to define your identity today? The world? Yourself? Other people? Or will you let God tell you who you really are?

5. The God who sees you

Augustine of Hippo once told that Faith is to believe what you do not see; The reward of this faith is to see what you believe.

Despite our struggles, failures, or feelings of insignificance, God sees us fully. He sees your heart, your intentions, and even the battles you fight in silence. Walking by faith means trusting Him even when circumstances are unclear, believing that His presence is real even when you cannot feel it.

When God sees you, He validates your worth—not because of what you’ve accomplished, but because of who you are in Him. You are never invisible, forgotten, or beyond His love. Even in moments of doubt or loneliness, God’s vision of you is constant and unwavering. He sees your potential, your purpose, and the future He has prepared for you.

Faith isn’t just believing God exists—it’s believing that He sees you personally and intimately. And when you trust in that truth, you begin to live courageously, knowing you are never alone.
