In ruck and quibble of courtfolk
This giant hulked, I tell you, on her scene
With hands like derricks,
Looks fierce and black as rooks;
Why, all the windows broke when he stalked in.

Her dainty acres he ramped through
And used her gentle doves with manners rude;
I do not know
What fury urged him slay
Her antelope who meant him naught but good.

She spoke most chiding in his ear
Till he some pity took upon her crying;
Of rich attire
He made her shoulders bare
And solaced her, but quit her at ****'s crowing.

A hundred heralds she sent out
To summon in her slight all doughty men
Whose force might fit
Shape of her sleep, her thought-
None of that greenhorn lot matched her bright crown.

So she is come to this rare pass
Whereby she treks in blood through sun and squall
And sings you thus :
'How sad, alas, it is
To see my people shrunk so small, so small.'
You are my
Ensorcelled Elysium,
You are my
Eden Dream.

You cascade
Upon my Dreamscape,
Enshrine my slumber in
A flowered gale of aromatic petals
That envelop me, beckon me
To herald the rebirth
Of Days of Yore.

You vein
The Glistening Glade of Memories
With your
Brooks of Aqueous Emerald.

Tis' the
Phantasmagoric Plane
Where still
My wayworn spirit wanders, wearily
In search of the magic
To enfetter
The Hands of Fate
(For they conspire against us).

Swifter than your descent
Into my soul
(Five seconds still and flat)
By
The nexus of your affections,
You evanesced
Like vapor,
Yet
I shall not concede to
The Malevolent Matriarch of Destiny.

For you
O, Breath of Life,
Forsook me not
So I sublime all stains
Tarnishing my flesh
By cries to The Ethereal.

At midday
Awaiting the Twilight
I long for
The birth of The Womb of Aether’s
Progeny,
Starlit winds.

I muse
Swimmingly in Seas of Reminiscence,
Banished from that Blackened Bastion
Of Shadowed Heavens,
For when darkness shrouds
My dreams can be seen
Draping the skies.

I then fathom,
You must not be far off,
Wishing,
Hoping,
Believing
That perhaps
You too
Wonder upon stars
Longing to find that one
That entwines us anew.

You shall alight,
Upon me once more
As
August Sun’s Nimbus
(If only for a moment)
Is thwarted
By
Ebony Miasma
That drenches Cimmerian skies.

In search
Of Ardor’s Light abiding in
The Sylvan Shrine of Your Numinous Eyes
I plead that
The Crag oppress
The Coals of Tribulation,
Until my anguish is
A Diamond Heart.

The pilgrimage
I must bear,
Must be traveled by
The Adamantine alone.

Where have you gone,
Tree of Life?
Why have you withered,
Yggdrasil?

Do I possess
The Eradia of Souls,
By which you shall
Effloresce?

I would halt the cogs of time,
Relinquish my liberty,
To slumber for eternity
In crystal stasis
By your side.

Even in that crystalline quietude,
I would be eminent,
I would be exalted,
I would be ennobled,
In the knowingness that
Your
Stalwart Heart
Radiates
Just beside me.

I exhale Empyrean Winds
When rapt in reverie,
Yearning to be
Captive to your devotion,
Yours alone.

The Bliss of Your Most Holy Kiss
Would signet me
With the
Bounty of Your Name
Burnishing the skin
On my lips.

Though ephemeral,
Your presence divined,
Your presence
Was my anointing.

To be solaced
By the astral resonance emitted
By your touch
Sent the
Pulse of Nirvana
Surging, rippling,
Like a kaleidoscope tide,
Down my spine

You are
The Waters of Vitality
That floweth from
The Creeks of Eden,

You have been
Poured upon my palate
From the
Goblet of Redemption
That I may drinketh
Of
Supernal immortality.

When once again we meet,
Perhaps the tears you summoned
From my spirit
By your
Stirring caress
Shall have absolved me
Of the pangs
In loving a man
(And man alone).

Perhaps then,
The sentiments
I pine to profess,
Will resound.

A melody
Sung in legato,
A  mellifluous melisma,
Flawlessly delineated
And
Intonation in deiform
Or perhaps,
Flowering fioritura
Lacing airwaves,
By the Empress Coloratura.

Perhaps then, piety
Betwixt you and I,
Will waft the air
And I might then,
Permit my quaking body
To succumb to
You alone.

Until that morn,
I shall be vigilant,
Counting the Dawns,
Counting the Twilights,
Until
I can gaze
Into your forested eyes
If even for but a moment.

For even but a moment
Spent with you,
Will bleed a nostalgia
Across my mind's sky,
Painting clouds crimson with passion,
And
That I shall revere,
And
That shall last
And last
And,
Last… And
Last.

O, it will last,
To Elysian Infinity.

            I am a vestige,
But I shall live once more,
                  In the light of memories
                       That blossom, are perennial,
And imbibe the dazed glory of the past
                       Until the past is vanquished
By a future that is fragrant
             With the mist of romance
          And eclipses the simulacrum,
A fictitious sun of the infernal masquerade,
The antithesis of the truest holy,
Then, rapture of life shall mystify no longer,
For the Numen of Truth,
Shall cleanse creation without a drop of façade,
His Providence shall emancipate the hollow,
The Death of Dreams shall writhe
               In everlasting abeyance,
                 Absolving our wayward spirits,
                  The Winds of Change,
                  The Scourge of Pain,
               And
          The Loveless Wraiths
        That haunted our husks
      Shall be transcended for aeons,
And tribulation made distant, made nebulous
As the Genesis of Time and Space itself
For we embark on an exodus,
     Beseeching salvation to redeem us
        When the Requiem of Iniquity
           Is triumphed by everlasting cadence.

Be Valiant,
                 Be Sapient,
                             Be Love
                                       And
                                          By this
                                                You shall conquer the world

Hello my fellow comrades! This piece was originally written as a means of catharsis. I wanted to express the romantic sentiments begotten by an individual who deliquesced from my world as swiftly as they arrived. I hope you guys can glean virtues of humanity, poignancy, candor, and (an organic) transparency in this piece. I want to impress the density of reverence pulsing in my heart for the person who enraptured me by the thew of their tenderness and kindred spirit.

Hopefully the massive length of this piece does not deter from reading its contents. Holistically speaking, the volume of content in this piece is the metaphorical incarnation of the Ocean of Affection that ebbs and flows within my soul (for this individual). I would love to improve, so if you have any constructive feedback you'd like to convey I would be most grateful. Anyhow, I hope that on some level you can connect with the overtones of undying piety in love that deluge this piece. Thank you all for reading and God bless!

sticky mess
all over my hands
why couldn't I stop
I don't remember doing this
frosting drying up my mouth
only solaced by further sugar
sticky mess
all over my hands
I can't wash it off
I can't get it off
it's engraved there
sticky mess
all over my hands
tormenting me
making me sick
sticky mess
all over my hands
purge it out
get it out
shower drowning out the sound
sticky mess

I'm disgusting
I'm a monster.

Not any more to be lacked—
Not any more to be known—
Denizen of Significance
For a span so worn—

Even Nature herself
Has forgot it is there—
Sedulous of her Multitudes
Notwithstanding Despair—

Of the Ones that pursued it
Suing it not to go
Some have solaced the longing
To accompany—

Some—rescinded the Wrench—
Others—Shall I say
Plated the residue of Adz
With Monotony.

Flickering lights, viewing my chipped nails and reading my favorite book is what I was doing the first time our lives would change.
For the better or for the worse, I still don't know till this very day.
A light flashes on the phone.
The intrigued and perfected message was you wanting company.
I said hesitantly, yes. Not knowing what was to be a questionable night.
The thoughts in my head are quick to think of mystery.
He must be bored or doesn't want to be home.
I then express such harsh tones about myself.
Why would he want to hang out with me, I'm so boring and such a loner.
I never go out though, I think to myself. If I say I'm a loner or shy, I should change that, starting now.
Pretty bipolar thoughts, right?
You approached my home with such an tense yet comforted look as I approach you.
We both sensed discomfort yet comfort at the same time with each other.
I sensed in your voice such sorrow.
Your face with such pain.
Your body language of tremendous anxiety.
Yet, despite your melancholic emotions, you were happy and solaced with company.
Before heading towards the hazy moment of what was to come, we stopped.
Annoyance of my vexatious monthly moments, I itched for something sweet.
Taken by surprise, you bought me a little tub of vanilla ice cream.
We headed to our destination shortly after this fortuitous sweet incident.
The night sky was so chilling yet beautiful.
The moon illuminated as if it was scantly born.
Bright full stars shined below the sparkling water hitting the sand with such a tender touch.
The dialogue went from gaiety chatter to hushed gossip to attentive talk.
I can feel your manic energy as if you wanted to spill out a heavenly secret.
My body gets the sudden chills and you ask if I wanted his sweater to borrow.
The sky along with being near the icy beach water, it was a stinging cold night.
I hesitantly said yes, in a shivering cracked voice.
You put on this thick and warm jean jacket on me, then...
I felt such a burning desirable gaze at me.
My face began to burn with such bashfulness.
His eyes were so bewitching.
With an fluorescent blue, I thought it suddenly turned to daylight.
I looked away with such awkwardness of myself.
But he didn't mind it. He never did.
We head towards the car.
Street lights of a radiant orange and yellow run past us as a streak.
Accelerated cars whirl on the same and opposite side of us.
The music playing is a darken soul pop star singing through the speakers as we both talk about our ill-starred relationships.
Our tortured minds are intertwined with each other at this point.
We both tunefully feel it.
The night ends,
We both say goodnight and you generously walk me to my front door.
Your body grows closer to me and I sense your mood had changed since your mournful approach towards my home only hours ago.
Your charming eyes focus on my face again, but now suddenly to my lips.
I wanted to, I really did, but it was not the right time.
Saying our goodbyes, I look out my window and see you drive off.
What is he thinking?
Did I disappoint him?
Is he ok?
I hope he gets home safe.
I get a message he is home safe and thanks me for a wonderful night.
He's thankful for the company tonight.
Did I do the right thing by not kissing him immediately?
I don't know.
Do I regret it?
I don't know.
Does he even remember that night or even bother to think of anything of our time together?
I don't know.
But I know for a fact, that we had an unfathomable connection in those rare times together.
At least I like to think so..
I hope then, and even now, he still thinks of those times
when I hope he felt a comfort in knowing at least someone was there for him in that time.
That day was the day I saw him as my sun.
And I was the moon.
Oh that those lips had language! Life has pass'd
With me but roughly since I heard thee last.
Those lips are thine--thy own sweet smiles I see,
The same that oft in childhood solaced me;
Voice only fails, else, how distinct they say,
"Grieve not, my child, chase all thy fears away!"
The meek intelligence of those dear eyes
(Blest be the art that can immortalize,
The art that baffles time's tyrannic claim
To quench it) here shines on me still the same.

Faithful remembrancer of one so dear,
Oh welcome guest, though unexpected, here!
Who bidd'st me honour with an artless song,
Affectionate, a mother lost so long,
I will obey, not willingly alone,
But gladly, as the precept were her own;
And, while that face renews my filial grief,
Fancy shall weave a charm for my relief--
Shall steep me in Elysian reverie,
A momentary dream, that thou art she.

My mother! when I learn'd that thou wast dead,
Say, wast thou conscious of the tears I shed?
Hover'd thy spirit o'er thy sorrowing son,
Wretch even then, life's journey just begun?
Perhaps thou gav'st me, though unseen, a kiss;
Perhaps a tear, if souls can weep in bliss--
Ah that maternal smile! it answers--Yes.
I heard the bell toll'd on thy burial day,
I saw the hearse that bore thee slow away,
And, turning from my nurs'ry window, drew
A long, long sigh, and wept a last adieu!
But was it such?--It was.--Where thou art gone
Adieus and farewells are a sound unknown.
May I but meet thee on that peaceful shore,
The parting sound shall pass my lips no more!
Thy maidens griev'd themselves at my concern,
Oft gave me promise of a quick return.
What ardently I wish'd, I long believ'd,
And, disappointed still, was still deceiv'd;
By disappointment every day beguil'd,
Dupe of to-morrow even from a child.
Thus many a sad to-morrow came and went,
Till, all my stock of infant sorrow spent,
I learn'd at last submission to my lot;
But, though I less deplor'd thee, ne'er forgot.

Where once we dwelt our name is heard no more,
Children not thine have trod my nurs'ry floor;
And where the gard'ner Robin, day by day,
Drew me to school along the public way,
Delighted with my bauble coach, and wrapt
In scarlet mantle warm, and velvet capt,
'Tis now become a history little known,
That once we call'd the past'ral house our own.
Short-liv'd possession! but the record fair
That mem'ry keeps of all thy kindness there,
Still outlives many a storm that has effac'd
A thousand other themes less deeply trac'd.
Thy nightly visits to my chamber made,
That thou might'st know me safe and warmly laid;
Thy morning bounties ere I left my home,
The biscuit, or confectionary plum;
The fragrant waters on my cheeks bestow'd
By thy own hand, till fresh they shone and glow'd;
All this, and more endearing still than all,
Thy constant flow of love, that knew no fall,
Ne'er roughen'd by those cataracts and brakes
That humour interpos'd too often makes;
All this still legible in mem'ry's page,
And still to be so, to my latest age,
Adds joy to duty, makes me glad to pay
Such honours to thee as my numbers may;
Perhaps a frail memorial, but sincere,
Not scorn'd in heav'n, though little notic'd here.

Could time, his flight revers'd, restore the hours,
When, playing with thy vesture's tissued flow'rs,
The violet, the pink, and jessamine,
I *****'d them into paper with a pin,
(And thou wast happier than myself the while,
Would'st softly speak, and stroke my head and smile)
Could those few pleasant hours again appear,
Might one wish bring them, would I wish them here?
I would not trust my heart--the dear delight
Seems so to be desir'd, perhaps I might.--
But no--what here we call our life is such,
So little to be lov'd, and thou so much,
That . I should ill requite thee to constrain
Thy unbound spirit into bonds again.

Thou, as a gallant bark from Albion's coast
(The storms all weather'd and the ocean cross'd)
Shoots into port at some well-haven'd isle,
Where spices breathe and brighter seasons smile,
There sits quiescent on the floods that show
Her beauteous form reflected clear below,
While airs impregnated with incense play
Around her, fanning light her streamers gay;
So thou, with sails how swift! hast reach'd the shore
"Where tempests never beat nor billows roar,"
And thy lov'd consort on the dang'rous tide
Of life, long since, has anchor'd at thy side.
But me, scarce hoping to attain that rest,
Always from port withheld, always distress'd--
Me howling winds drive devious, tempest toss'd,
Sails ript, seams op'ning wide, and compass lost,
And day by day some current's thwarting force
Sets me more distant from a prosp'rous course.
But oh the thought, that thou art safe, and he!
That thought is joy, arrive what may to me.
My boast is not that I deduce my birth
From ***** enthron'd, and rulers of the earth;
But higher far my proud pretensions rise--
The son of parents pass'd into the skies.
And now, farewell--time, unrevok'd, has run
His wonted course, yet what I wish'd is done.
By contemplation's help, not sought in vain,
I seem t' have liv'd my childhood o'er again;
To have renew'd the joys that once were mine,
Without the sin of violating thine:
And, while the wings of fancy still are free,
And I can view this mimic shew of thee,
Time has but half succeeded in his theft--
Thyself remov'd, thy power to sooth me left.
I sat beneath a willow tree,
  Where water falls and calls;
While fancies upon fancies solaced me,
Some true, and some were false.

Who set their heart upon a hope
  That never comes to pass,
Droop in the end like fading heliotrope,
  The sun's wan looking-glass.

Who set their will upon a whim
Clung to through good and ill,
Are wrecked alike whether they sink or swim,
Or hit or miss their will.

All things are vain that wax and wane,
  For which we waste our breath;
Love only doth not wane and is not vain,
  Love only outlives death.

A singing lark rose toward the sky,
  Circling he sang amain;
He sang, a speck scarce visible sky-high,
  And then he sank again.

A second like a sunlit spark
  Flashed singing up his track;
But never overtook that foremost lark,
  And songless fluttered back.

A hovering melody of birds
  Haunted the air above;
They clearly sang contentment without words,
And youth and joy and love.

O silvery weeping willow tree
  With all leaves shivering,
Have you no purpose but to shadow me
  Beside this rippled spring?

On this first fleeting day of Spring,
  For Winter is gone by,
And every bird on every quivering wing
  Floats in a sunny sky;

On this first Summer-like soft day,
  While sunshine steeps the air,
And every cloud has gat itself away,
  And birds sing everywhere.

Have you no purpose in the world
  But thus to shadow me
With all your tender drooping twigs unfurled,
  O weeping willow tree?

With all your tremulous leaves outspread
  Betwixt me and the sun,
While here I loiter on a mossy bed
  With half my work undone;

My work undone, that should be done
  At once with all my might;
For after the long day and lingering sun
  Comes the unworking night.

This day is lapsing on its way,
  Is lapsing out of sight;
And after all the chances of the day
  Comes the resourceless night.

The weeping-willow shook its head
  And stretched its shadow long;
The west grew crimson, the sun smouldered red,
  The birds forbore a song.

Slow wind sighed through the willow leaves,
  The ripple made a moan,
The world drooped murmuring like a thing that grieves;
  And then I felt alone.

I rose to go, and felt the chill,
  And shivered as I went;
Yet shivering wondered, and I wonder still,
  What more that willow meant;

That silvery weeping-willow tree
  With all leaves shivering,
Which spent one long day overshadowing me
  Beside a spring in Spring.
As eager home-bound traveller to the goal,
Or steadfast seeker on an unsearched main,
Or martyr panting for an aureole,
My fellow-pilgrims pass me, and attain
That hidden mansion of perpetual peace,
Where keen desire and hope dwell free from pain:
That gate stands open of perennial ease;
I view the glory till I partly long,
Yet lack the fire of love which quickens these.
O, passing Angel, speed me with a song,
A melody of heaven to reach my heart
  And rouse me to the race and make me strong;
Till in such music I take up my part,
Swelling those Hallelujahs full of rest,
One, tenfold, hundred-fold, with heavenly art,
Fulfilling north and south and east and west,
Thousand, ten-thousand-fold, innumerable,
  All blent in one yet each one manifest;
Each one distinguished and beloved as well
As if no second voice in earth or heaven
Were lifted up the Love of God to tell.
Ah, Love of God, which Thine Own Self hast given
To me most poor, and made me rich in love,
Love that dost pass the tenfold seven times seven.
Draw Thou mine eyes, draw Thou my heart above,
My treasure and my heart store Thou in Thee,
Brood over me with yearnings of a dove;
  Be Husband, Brother, closest Friend to me;
Love me as very mother loves her son,
Her ******* firstborn fondled on her knee:
Yea, more than mother loves her little one;
For, earthly, even a mother may forget
And feel no pity for its piteous moan;
But Thou, O Love of God, remember yet,
Through the dry desert, through the waterflood
(Life, death), until the Great White Throne is set.
If now I am sick in chewing the bitter cud
Of sweet past sin, though solaced by Thy grace,
And ofttimes strengthened by Thy Flesh and Blood,
How shall I then stand up before Thy face,
When from Thine eyes repentance shall be hid,
And utmost Justice stand in Mercy's place:
When every sin I thought or spoke or did
Shall meet me at the inexorable bar,
And there be no man standing in the mid
To plead for me; while star fallen after star
With heaven and earth are like a ripened shock,
And all time's mighty works and wonders are
Consumed as in a moment; when no rock
Remains to fall on me, no tree to hide,
But I stand all creation's gazing-stock,
Exposed and comfortless on every side,
Placed trembling in the final balances
Whose poise this hour, this moment, must be tried?--
Ah, Love of God, if greater love than this
Hath no man, that a man die for his friend,
And if such love of love Thine Own Love is,
  Plead with Thyself, with me, before the end;
Redeem me from the irrevocable past;
  Pitch Thou Thy Presence round me to defend;
Yea seek with pierced feet, yea hold me fast
  With pierced hands whose wounds were made by love;
Not what I am, remember what Thou wast
When darkness hid from Thee Thy heavens above,
And sin Thy Father's Face, while Thou didst drink
The bitter cup of death, didst taste thereof
For every man; while Thou wast nigh to sink
  Beneath the intense intolerable rod,
Grown sick of love; not what I am, but think
Thy Life then ransomed mine, my God, my God.

To eat or not to eat, that is the question.
A doughnut, ******, airy I’ll consume--
adjust my diet later to make room--
or falsely reject pastries’ sweet delight
while bingeing pasta deep into the night?
Doughnut, thou art satisfying, sweetly
filling morsel, savored now discreetly—
perhaps a little midday’s sugar craving
is better solaced, hunger I’ll be staving
off, resisting better night time craves.
‘Tis better, easier to have the faves;
by portions small on calories I’ll save,
and skip on other dishes that don’t taste
as sweet and crispy, but go straight to waist.
This is one of the first poems I ever wrote, following the dictum "Write what you know" ;)

.... it's normal...maybe it's not,
maybe, i overdo it....yet, i still do it...
i always think of things to come
...at day time....even late nights,
thinking too much of my children
my children's children...i must always
be there...for when they need help...
i worry too about my siblings
i even think of my siblings' brood
my dear friends and their worries
...thinking how i can help them...
later, i get weary....fed up at times,
exhausted from worrying, wondering
how i could offer even a bit of a remedy
especially when they are too far to be
touched warmly...or, my hands are tied,
....or, not that long to reach out...

i realize before long...i am not alone
decidedly, i refuse to be solaced
by the thought, that my worries
could just be pebbles...not rocks...
i musn't compare at all....

For the listener, who mourns in the silence
and takes upon himself to bury the secrets of others,
who listens in the sand and is solaced by the wind
and lays to sleep at hours small and nights dark

for the listener knows the thoughts of the universe
when he looks inside and feels the earth quake
in his body, the earth
quakes
and he shakes & shivers & the mortal secrets
drown,
secreting into the flood the chemicals that lie
between us,
lie
for our survival and the belief of our progression.

for the listener, i pray,
i pray for him to come & save
my hopes,
i believe no one else believes in his arrival.
At times
The rain relentlessly rains
And might seem never
Never to rain once again
But it does,

At times
The sun incessantly shines
And might seem never
Never to shine once again
But it does,

At times
The moon dims its light
And might seem never
Never to shine once again
But it does,

At times
Stars effulgently shine
And might seem never
Never to shine once again
But they do,

At times
The wind relentlessly whistles
And might seem never
Never to whistle once again
But it does,

At times
Life is circuitous
And might seem never
Never to be straight once again
But it will,

At times
You're at a low ebb
And might seem never
Never to hold a penny once again
But you will,

At times
You're engulfed in doldrums
And might seem never
Never to be solaced once again
But you will,

At times
You're drenched in despair
And hope might seem never
Never to come your way once again
But it will,

At times
You wail
And might seem never
Never to smile once again
But you will,

At times
You're heart broken
And might seem never
Never to love once again
But you will,

At  times
You're lonely
And might seem never
Never to be happy once again
But you will,

At times
You're lover parts from you
And might seem never
Never to be the same once again
But you will,

At times
Your're in a daze
And might seem never
Never to know whats right once again
But you will,

At times
Failure engulfs you
And success might seem never
Never to come your way once again
But it will,

Every thing will
Just on cue.

At the end of a hill there is a ***** hence never despair in life.
The best is yet to come your way whilst you keep the faith that everything will at last be alright despite hardships.
Only then you shall have failure vanquished.

That Smell
Lynyrd Skynyrd
For Courts Music Challenge

The stench it fills the nocturne air
Of wicked thoughts and fevered chains
With needles polished none to share
In search of risen stoic veins

To seep within the bloodstream deep
And paint a picture filled with lies
Now drains what sanity you keep
On roadmaps built of bloodshot eyes

This strength you take from solaced fear
Where chemicals now come to play
A weakness coincides your tears
As every moment fades away

Back alley streets of littered death
When life it bids a dark farewell
Oh how the banishment of breath
And echoes crying oh that smell

I've solaced by you
I treasure your amour
I know you dote upon me
A blessed feeling!
A wave of bliss is blowing in every nook and cranny

I become soulful
My mind is bubbling over with this romantic comedy

I'm trying to speak
But I'm silent
My eyes are telling you the truth

I'm thrilled with joy by fits and starts
This starlit time is luminescence
May the time stop flying!
The allaying fatigue and mitigating sorrow time
Please, don't fly!

Let's have a candlelit dinner
Let's go for a long drive
Let's have a barbecue
Let's cut a cake and celebrate
My heart desires for festivity

Now,
I'm free from stress and difficulties
I'm smoothly spending time
I never felt so light and buoyant before
The time is laudable

I woke up and reality came crashing down at the speed light.
I didn’t want to open my eyes.
I didn’t want to smell the air.
I didn’t want to stretch my arms as a welcoming gesture towards this new day.
I didn’t want to get up, out of bed, and touch the freezing floor that would immediately tell me to forget about everything I had just seen, witnessed, experienced.
I didn’t want to forget.
I wanted to remember every single scene that played in my head to continue dancing around in my mind.
People I encountered.
Odors I smelled.
Places I saw.
Every single detail that made that world unbelievably amazing.
Every interaction.
So, I tossed and turned.
And I flipped to one side, then flipped to the other.
Put my hands over my eyes.
Shut the sunlight out completely…
And thought of you.
You were there.
Arriving so quickly as if you were coming to rescue me from the depths of my despair.
But you were so god dam far away.
I couldn’t bring myself to bear this.
I could see you, but were you really there?
I could hear you, but were you really speaking to me?
You kept calling my name.
And you were saying something I didn’t quite understand.
Or maybe you were saying something I just didn’t want to hear.
I heard it over and over, nonstop.
So I opened y eyes.
And I took a deep breath, exhaling the glorious memory that seemed to be hanging on to my soul.
I spent the rest of the day trying to re-live and re-experience everything I’s seen before.
Every step of it. I went over and over it so that and I wouldn’t miss a thing thinking that come night time I’d have everything completely clear (stored) and in place.
That when my head hit the pillow, I’d simply close my eyes and you would exist again.
Be there once again.
Return to me.
[Time]
I gave up.
I caved.
What else was I supposed to do?
I was hanging unto miserable pain that turned into beauty every time I remembered your eyes.
I imagine this kind of torture can only be physically endured by few people.
Painful because it became self inflicted.
Beautiful because you remained just as I’d seen you that very first time.
This reassured me you hadn’t changed.
But I still couldn’t see you like I did before.
Maybe I was the one that changed.
Was my mind looking for something different than what my heart had seen before?
I sat down on a desk.
Pen and paper in hand,
Thinking that somehow I could put these haunting thoughts into words.
And that these words would eventually become actions*
Time passed.
Things changed.
But this always happens.
Everything around me was so quiet.
The silence was deafening.
I could hear you, finally.
I was solaced.
It was a humbling feeling to hear your voice.
Thought I wouldn’t live to see the day you’d come back.
I thought you’d be gone forever.
We are drained by the love we choose to give into.

When my body and soul
No longer entwine
What will become of my spine?

Does it sigh solaced croon
A hymn-silken harpoon
Propelling me
Through
Threshold everlasting?

Or will it crumble by piece
Like moldy blue cheese
Marrow vinaigrette feeds
Famished nerve roots
And dirt
Absorbing lost life,
Fueling the Earth?

Perhaps a doctor
Will pass it along
Loaded syringe,
Silver and mauve
Into flesh as fresh
As death’s final breath
Enervated vertebrae
A-positive strong

Or maybe it retreats
Into shadows sea-deep
Steel-tipped discs
Flash of shimmer
As they sink
Footholds for lost souls
Sin-dark landmarks
Untouched by warmth
And
Unseen by stars

To eat or not to eat; that is the question.
A doughnut--******, airy--I’ll consume,
adjust my diet later to make room,
or falsely reject pastries’ sweet delight
while bingeing pasta deep into the night?
Doughnut, thou art satisfying; sweetly
filling morsel, savored now discreetly—
perhaps a little midday’s sugar craving
is better solaced, hunger I’ll be staving
off,  resisting better night time craves.
‘Tis better, easier to have the faves;
by portions small on calories I’ll save
and skip on other dishes that don’t taste
as sweet and crispy, but go straight to waist.
The prompt was to write a platonic love poem. Sugar, one of my true loves.

Social ineptitude
summarized as “self-solaced in solitude"
becomes nightmarish
in late night fright
I worry I will never make my desires known
Sewn into the fabric so even the
sharpest seam rippers
do little to nothing to repair
my inability to tell the truth,
my lips have been sealed, healed and sealed again
To the Yous
I used to call
mine
You're gone and
I am reminded of your presence in this world
and your absence in mine.
There's no way I could justify
any of the failed loves.

They only demanded from me

a little more strength
some more endurance
walk a longer length

but when close to the peak
my knees grew weak
doubts brewed in my head
my resolves started to fade
I was seeking more precision
more commitment from the other side

and what happened was no doubt
their obvious fallout

a retreat when it would have been right
to in love scale the needed height.

Then as a cover up of my shame
tainted the other with all blame
last nail in the coffin being
hold her responsible for everything
then solaced in escape's upbeat mood
saying what happened happened for good!

Now I have to admit *****-nilly
my lapses in love come back to haunt me.

From the day of that first spark
Wandering heart solaced to park
From the day I first saw you
Missing you always makes me blue
From the day of our first kiss
Every day since that moment reminisce
From the day our first squeeze of the hand
Trust and love a thousand miles spanned
From the day our first passionate embrace
Intricate packed sublime feelings unlace
From the day we made our first love
Uplifted my world to heaven above
From the day our dreams fused into one
For me it will be only you and no one
From the day our heart beat in sync
Every day you is all I think
From the day we first miss each other
You in my mind  omnipresent feature
Every time you read this anywhere any day
Note my love stays as fresh as on that first day
