I'm surprised we're having a picnic on the east wing!
Our company almost never gives us anything!
Underpaid with no benefits makes this picnic even better
To think I was going to give in my resignation letter

With so many hamburgers, hot dogs, and more,
It's a fast food restaurant galore!
A table packed full with yummies.
Today, a lot of beef will be in tummies.

People reaching for their plates
The caterers come out of their waits
One by one, they serve each voracious goer
For a pay that probably couldn't get any lower

Janice comes, with her broken polish and nails
And a scream a joy echos out like whales
She's so drunk, oh my god haha she's so wired
It's the unpaid overtime or another threat of being fired

Poor thing... we finish our girl talk
and problems on my mind, I begin to walk
Feeling my appetite begin to poke me,
I bite into my hamburger with resounding glee

Nipping the bread, it's fluff presses against my lips
I close my eyes, as my senses go in dips
The precious aroma of divine baked bread
As my tongue and bun are set to wed.

Each bud met with delicious waters of steak
The ketchup creating a dreamy, saucy lake
Scrumptious, delicious
Incredible, nutritious...?

It doesn't matter, I've met my goal
And the taste, goodness it makes my mind roll
Forgetting everything while I finish the rest
Golly, this food is the best

Orange hazards blink in gloom
Autumn mist in early light,
Traffic cones direct the flow
Attenuators keep it tight.
Through the mist construction looms
A mighty swath comes into sight
A structure massive, incomplete
Sweeps past the Birdcage portal light.

Burrowed deep within the Park
Surmounted by its stark white beams,
The tunnel curves towards the Bridge
To emerge near the Victory screens.
Symmetry in huge largess
Biblical in size and form,
Built by puny hands of flesh
Man inspired, conceived and born.

Columns in the concrete mass
Loom as sentries, side by side,
Level in majestic sweep
Through the tunnel’s corner glide.
Massive beams locked overhead
Cap the roof’s gigantic clasp,
Reinforced by gridlocked steel
Bound within the concrete’s grasp.

Mounds of blue, congealed wet clay
Layered in an old sea bed,
Hauled away from ancient crib
By Fletcher excavators red.
Roaring diesel truck and tray
Loaded overburden high,
Water blasted ***** and span
Keeping highways clean and dry.

Monstrous cranes with hanging rig
Lower weights of ponderous steel,
Gently to the tunnel base
Led by Dogman’s coaxing feel.
Urgency in every move
Hard hats drill with diamond core,
Fixing massive panel slabs
To the looming concrete’s bore.

Well below incoming tide
Pounded by the drenching rain,
Four inch pumps snake to the sump
Ensuring flood control’s maintained.
Foremen bark and keep control
Hard hats share a secret smile,
Safety first for every man
Think before you lift that pile.

Gate girls smile at passers bye
Politely chiding those who stray,
Holding up a halting hand
With trucks inbound in hazards way.
Smoko at the Bowling Club
Murmur of a hundred souls,
Grubby in their hi vis vests
Munching on the caterers rolls.

Morale amongst the working men
Is high because they feel the cause,
A project that is so worthwhile
They KNOW that it  deserves applause.
Traffic roars above it all
Passing in a steady stream,
Brake lights on the viaduct
Cop cars flash and sirens scream.

This project has a consciousness
A Heart, a mind, a soul.
And an inspirational spirit
Which guides us to the goal.
To eliminate the bottleneck
In Auckland's traffic day
And to streamline the system
Of our vehicular motorway.

Politicians snarl right now
Champing at the huge expense,
But by next year’s finish date
Congratulations will commence.
The jewel in the crown they say
Is found within our park of green,
The Victoria Park Tunnel, friend,
Is a true magnificence, to be seen.

Bride and groom Erika and Joshua Garza say they thought their Durham wedding was set and all planned. The owner of the Fayetteville-based "Bragg About It Catering" company had driven up a month earlier so they could sample her wedding wares.

"She had the food ready. It was good," said Joshua Garza. "We tasted it and everything seemed great, and then she wanted to meet at the venue to see the kitchen and kinda get an idea of where she wanted to set up like that. So then we met with her at the venue and everything still seemed great."

They moved forward with the company, signed a contract, and say they prepaid caterer Jennifer Debrue $1,100.

"We talked to her all the time. We kept in contact. Everything was fine," Erika said.

That was until the day of the couple's wedding. The two say they received some surprising news.

"Nobody told us anything until we were in the limo and they were like 'Yeah, your caterer's not here,'" Joshua Garza recalled.

The Garzas now had more than 100 famished family and friends and no caterer. Fortunately for them, they did have some resourceful relatives who were able to run out and grab food for the wedding and save the day, but that did not change how the couple felt about the no-show caterer.

"I mean you don't do that to somebody on a day like that," said Joshua Garza. "You just, you ruin somebody's day."

Joshua and Erika tried to contact "Bragg About It Catering" but never received a call back or a refund.

"I don't want her to do this to anybody else, said Erika Garza.

But unfortunately, Sergeant First Class Anthony Baxley says it also happened to him at his retirement party.

"We didn't want to have to be running around," Baxley said, "We didn't want to be cooking. We didn't want to do any of that. We did a lot of research. We actually contacted probably over 10 different caterers before we settled on this one."

Falling in love with everything on the menu that Debrue offered, Baxley, too, chose "Bragg About It Catering". He says he prepaid the full cost of $1,500 and, like the Garzas, was left with an event with no caterer.

"After the ceremony was over I was immediately told there was a couple of problems with the caterer ... she never showed up, Baxley said.

Stressed to the max after receiving the news, it was Baxley's family and friends who also stepped in and saved his special day.

"A lot of the people found out before they went over to where we were doing the actual reception and they went to the store and purchased a whole bunch of food for us, he said.

With two costly no-shows, I tried to track down caterer Jennifer Debrue, but she did not respond to our phone calls or emails. We decided to go to the address listed on her contract information and spoke with her husband who seems surprised.

"They paid $1,100 and their wedding day came and went and she never showed up," I told him.

"I'm shocked. I don't know," he responded.

He told me Jennifer DeBrue would call us back, but she never did. Meanwhile, the newlyweds and Baxley are trying to spread the word that "Bragg About It Catering" is not something to brag about.

Our advice to viewers would be to pay by credit card so you can dispute it when something like this happens. Both Baxley and the Garza's said they did that.

I never can look when I’m riding past
The ruin of Falconridge,
I turn the head of my horse away
When I cross the Narrows Bridge,
And I concentrate on the countryside,
Try not to think of Clair,
Or the simple stone where she lies alone
Beneath its towers there.

But now and then I will think again
Of her and her sister Ruth,
Of the happy days when we used to play
In the dim days of our youth,
We would picnic out in the meadows
And I would chase them over the bridge,
For a kiss or two, though I came to rue
The House of Falconridge!

For Ruth was the elder of the two
And should have been first in line,
She grew to a haughty damosel
So I wouldn’t make her mine,
But Clair was bubbly, full of fun
And she showed she really cared,
So I knew that she was the only one
From the love that we had shared.

‘You will not marry my sister Clair,
I must be the first one wed,
I’ll not be seen as unwanted, left
To cry alone in my bed.’
So Ruth petitioned her father that
He halt our marriage plans,
But he had shrugged off his daughter,
‘This affair is out of my hands!’

The Banqueting Hall in Falconridge
Was decked with flags and flowers,
While Ruth went muttering her dismay
And hid in one of the towers,
She didn’t come out for the service
Though she did come out for the ball,
But sat and glowered at Clair, as we
Had danced our way round the hall.

Their father brought in the caterers
From the other side of the lake,
And they had wheeled in the greatest prize,
A huge five layered cake,
The tiny figures of bride and groom
Stood proudly on the top,
Then Ruth had suddenly come awake,
Leapt up and shouted, ‘Stop!’

The guests had stared, and a sudden hush
Befell the Banqueting Hall,
As Ruth seized both the bride and the groom
And dashed them against the wall,
She seized the knife from the wedding cake
And screamed in a long, high note:
‘I hate you all at this wedding ball!’
Then stabbed my Clair in the throat.

She ran right out of the Banqueting Hall,
I held poor Clair in my arms,
The blood poured over my wedding suit
As they called the Master-At-Arms,
She locked herself in the Northern Tower
And she lit a fire by the door,
Then ran right up to the topmost room,
Lay wailing, there on the floor.

The fire spread up through the Northern Tower
As Clair expired in my arms,
I couldn’t see through the veil of tears
How the guests had fled in alarm,
‘My love, my love,’ she had sighed at last
‘I forgive my sister Ruth,
We shouldn’t have taken her place away,
We wronged her, that is the truth!’

The fire raged, and burnt to a shell
The whole of Falconridge,
But Ruth they found, blackened and burned
As her flesh peeled off in strips,
She’s locked in one of the tower rooms
Will be locked in there for life,
With her claw-like hands and melted face
But it won’t bring back my wife!

I had a mirror placed by the door
She can see herself through the bars,
She has to suffer as I have done
By looking out on her scars,
And from the ruin of Falconridge
You may hear her cry, somehow,
When the Moon is over the Narrows Bridge:
‘Who will marry me now?’

Once upon a time, a traveler was carrying seven big bags of pain. He went to a sanctuary, and people welcomed him—one waved at him, another smiled at him. But nobody offered to help him with his bags.

The people in the sanctuary were carrying their little bags, too. Besides, they were busy studying and talking about accommodation and companionship, so they couldn’t afford to waste time.

The traveler has traveled for seven years with no rest. He was tired and thirsty.

So despite being a stranger in the place, he immediately asked, “Can somebody give me a drink? I’m so thirsty!”

The people looked at him but ignored his inquiry. Nobody offered him a drink because they were busy identifying the ingredients for the perfect refreshment for travelers. They couldn’t afford to waste time.

While being exhausted and thirsty still, the traveler kept on walking around the sanctuary until he finally saw a pantry. He was happy and excited to taste food since he fed on some junk for years.

So with all his remaining strength, he grabbed the menu and asked for roasted beef, but the caterers offered him a roasted chicken instead.

The traveler didn’t take it. The people thought he was being prideful and demanding; little did they know that he's allergic to chicken meat.

The traveler was mindful of people’s business and busyness, so he thought it would be best for him to just keep the pain, hunger, and thirst to himself. And so he did.

Several days after, the people in the sanctuary remembered the traveler. They were finally done with their conversations; the refreshments and roasted beef were already available, too, so they looked for him.

They looked and looked, but the traveler was no more.

How silly we are to overcomplicate love
Legal forms, caterers, and the same line spoken eagerly at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
All you have to do is ask
And just like that two silently become one
Simple solution for complex creatures

White dress.

Vanilla Cake with fluffy icing falls to the floor.

Forgotten champagne bottles remain unopened.

Swish.

Brooms attempt to wipe away the most obvious bruises.

Caterers pack up the painful memories.

Tears run freely on well-worn paths.

Many think that the poor have it easy.
Well, let’s see if they really do....
Ah, they must if you carefully consider
What they do NOT have to go though.

They DON'T have huge investment dilemmas,
Such as "Is my portfolio complete?"
Or "Will I maintain my financial status?
It's hard keeping up with the elite!"

The poor aren’t faced with countless decisions
That make their daily lives so insane:
“Which car should I drive—the Mercedes or Lexus?”
“Armani or Gucci?” “Which pill for pain?"

The poor do not have thousands of options
For health care, so for them it’s a breeze.
"Why do they need preventative medicine?
Emergency care should put them at ease."

Taking care of a mansion is tough,
So the rich always have a reason to grouse.
"The poor have it easy with just an apartment,
Or if they’re lucky, a ramshackle house."

The rich, having to juggle their money,
Are in a quandary, so to speak.
"The poor can live simply, for they get to live
From paycheck to paycheck, from week to week."

It’s hard to organize fancy dinners;
To get the best caterers, you have to pull strings.
"It's so much easier for the poor:
On food stamps can’t they still live like kings?"

Hiding millions of dollars is a challenge;
The Cayman Islands are so far away.
"For those don’t have the money to hide,
Life’s less hassle for them, you might say."

Tax loopholes are also a headache;
It’s hard to determine which ones work best.
"Those with no money don’t have to worry
Because they lack the funds to invest."

Just ask the poor: if they had a choice,
Would they be willing to make a switch,
And give up the easy life of the poor
For the complex, difficult life of the rich?

Weeks of planning are coming to fruition. A vision of loveliness waits in the bride chamber. Caterers and florist, musicians and maids of honor all come together to make this moment special. The guest are seated in order of importance and the groom waits with his best men. The brides maids in their unflattering dresses, wait to escort the princess for a day to her betrothed. The music begins to play and chaste flower girls in small white reflections of the bride come forward with baskets of flower petals. The stage is set for a marriage made somewhere. The room rises as the starlet makes her appearance, such a sight to behold. Mean while the groom takes one more quick nip form a bottle hidden in his coat pocket. This is it here comes the bride.

Virtuous and compassionate a magnificent fortress would be an understatement of all the splendour and affection invested.
The apple of his eyes the love of a lifetime  seems to do justice in describing true elegance.
A nurturer by default embedded with enough compassion to unite families .

I'm a thousand miles away
In a country green and bright
But the paths of my mind
Take me back to our streets
Time to time
I kept in touch with many
And I know all the news
I've heard the post office was painted
And Ahmed has retired
His son has accepted his fate
And works in his father's butchers
I heard Saleh's chickens were eaten
The wolf came through the gate
I know Hannan still begs outside the markets
And Ali still sings as he drives his bus
Bilal married Arwa in August
And the caterers caused a fuss
I know that Hamsa street was freshly paved in June
From this country
I miss the clear sight of the moon
I still have many questions
And I long to visit home
Do the police still pick on the poor?
Does Fatima still send lunch to the neighbours every Friday noon?
Do you still struggle to sleep at night?
Does the future still plague your thoughts?
Have you left home in the early hours of the morning
And fallen asleep on the beach with anyone else?
Did you take another to Juju gardens then park on sunset drive?
When they gossiped about me at Khalti's cafe
Did you put a stop to the rumours or let me take all the blame?
I know the ways of our people
The woman is always put to shame
I'm in a land so green and bright
Here everyone is so welcoming and kind
But the stars look so dim at night
And I miss the dusty heat of our country
And it's people too
But more than anything
I miss you
( Court cases here, not conspiracy: )
Republicans and MAGA cult members crying about fake news and election tampering.
Here is the truth ,  verifiable and accurate:
they are the fake news sources AND  the Russian hacker enablers. It serves their Christo-fascist goals of control.

Jesse Benton, a Republican operative with ties to Trump’s campaigns,
was convicted
for arranging at least $25,000 in contributions to Trump’s campaign from Russian national
Roman Vasilenko.
It was $100,000, but he greedily pocketed $75K of it, so
Trump left him hanging.
He was
found guilty
of concealing it illegally and concealing its foreign origin. The small amount was all that could be 100% verified. The cash and mail bribes are an unknown amount.

He was convicted on six counts (conspiracy to solicit/contribute as a foreign national, conduit contributions, falsifying records) in 2022.
He destroyed most of the records that would prove even worse dealings.

In April 2024, the appeals
court upheld his conviction.
Politico

The case shows that some GOP operatives have been directly involved in shady
foreign money routing tied to Russian sources
(money that fuels
propaganda,
vindictive
hateful digital ops, and
influence campaigns aimed at the uneducated).

In September 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice unsealed the indictment of two more Russian nationals (employees of RT, the Russian state media) for
funneling at least $9.7 million
into a Tennessee-based company (identified as Tenet Media). They created
propaganda and
fake news content pushing unverifiable narratives favorable to pro-Russian and pro-G.O.P. interests, especially as it relates to race and voter suppression.

Russian propaganda agents paid right-wing influencers:
Tim Pool,
Benny Johnson,
Dave Rubin,
and an A.I. and video effects team to create and distribute

phony and doctored propaganda videos.

90% of the money came from Russian sources
the bank records prove it flat out.
This is obviously Trump but very hard to prove.
The videos were ordered with explicit instructions to
“divide and distract,”
create strategies to justify
attacking immigrants and  immigration,
“white victimhood,”
censorship,
culture war issues,
and were “consistent” with aims to sow discord and
“riotous violence.”

This is provable covert funding from a foreign state actor — Russia

caught red-handed channeling money through “domestic” media actors and influencers. That is
a troll farm
or influence operation, with GOP election influence and hateful propaganda content.

Good Ole Charlie Kirk was a tireless, hate-filled troll.
He forced Turning Point USA / Turning Point Action to hire teenagers in Arizona
to post coordinated attacks on Joe Biden and related topics on their own personal social media accounts. Some of those posts were identical (copy/paste), others were just petty,
vindictive personal attacks
aimed at youth and college students but also the elderly
anyone who
“may have been undecided or easily intimidated.”

It got back to Charlie Kirk via right-wing lawyers.
“Classic troll-farm playbooks: enlist many (often younger) people to amplify hate and racist,
anti-gay messaging inauthentically.”

Turning Point’s founder, Charlie Kirk, of course was given talking points to defend it, calling it “sincere political activism,” but the mechanics and scale put it clearly in troll-farm territory.
It was an
ever-expanding troll farm
that got caught and shut down mid-stride.

Those were amateurs though.

Project Lakhta / Elena Khusyaynova – The Infrastructure of Troll Ops

Elena Alekseevna Khusyaynova,
an operative and  accountant based in St. Petersburg, was charged in 2018 with
conspiracy to defraud the U.S.
by interfering in the 2016 and 2018 elections.
She managed the funds of Project Lakhta, a multi-million-dollar social media campaign,
creating fake friend profiles,
spreading hateful anti-Democrat misinformation,
and sowing racial and class-based, hateful,
unfounded bigotry
and misinformation.

Again, Project Lakhta is tied to the Internet Research Agency (IRA) and to Russian oligarch
Yevgeny Prigozhin,
who was indicted for funding and organizing election interference operations.
The G.O.P. was aware and complicit on many levels. There is no way Trump would not have known and/or personally funded these hate-filled conspiracy theory screeds.

Regardless of what's provable directly, the relevance of this is the clear politically backed infrastructure:

Money laundering,
fake accounts,
propaganda ops

that foreign influence campaigns use fake news and post that align with or amplify GOP messages of fascism and fear-mongering.
Also don't overlook the fact that Russia has the largest and most powerful organized crime syndicate in the world.
Their banks have little to no regulations and there is no separation between the banks and the state.

Multiple U.S. intelligence and congressional reports over the years have documented that
Russian trolls,
bots,
proxies, and state media focused heavily on supporting pro-Trump content and narratives (undermining Hillary, pushing divisive issues, etc.).

One Columbia University study found that betting market odds for registered and known Republicans dropped  obviously and significantly  on every  Russian holiday (when troll activity decreased), proving  the tangible   effect of foreign trolling aligning with Republican  financial gains and the power of their influence as well as  the ubiquity in  its nature..
.. Columbia SIPA

The ODNI “Foreign Threats to the 2020 US Federal Elections” report stated that Russian state media, trolls, and online proxies published negative ageist  and health  content about Biden and simultaneously  amplified pro-Trump messaging.
..Director of National Intelligence

Trump and Putin had face-to-face conversations and exchanged wants-and-needs lists to promote their own personal agendas,  and  that fine except  when the party favors like caviar and champagne are  funded by U.S. taxpayer money. It's clear and obvious to anyone with a brain.
Because of the clandestine nature of  most of these operations, much remains hidden, redacted, or based on inference from  simple reliable digital forensics, internal communications, leaks ,   the  first hand accounts of caterers and  aids as well as  posted platform data.

Putin was head of the KGB and  is of  course a known  unapologetic killer. He has ordered the deaths of many opponents.
He and ****** are Trumps' heroes as Trump has  stated  openly many times.

It's everywhere too , even  in places  you would think would be safe  like rural white middle America  and surrounding areas  of populace cities like Nashville, now renown for white flight like never seen before. A perfect target.
@TENGOP / Tennessee GOP Fake Account

In 2016, an account called @TEN
GOP appeared to be the Twitter account of the Tennessee Republican Party, but it turned out to be operated by Putin-directed Russian operatives linked to
the Internet Research Agency (IRA), a known Kremlin-tied “troll farm.”   Kremlin Troll  farms targeting undereducated white MAGA prospects in  an NRA Christo-fascist country and western hot bed. Justifying and amplifying  racist , hate-filled anti-white propaganda.
DFRLab
Tennessean

This account was used to promote divisive content, including false “voter fraud” claims.
Tennessean

NBC News

Researchers have found bot armies creating “fake news” on platforms like X (Twitter), amplifying pro-GOP or pro-Trump content.
Some of these appear to be domestic (i.e., U.S.) operations, others foreign ones, but they function similarly — coordinating inauthentic behavior, spreading propaganda.
CNBC

Example: a study found a network of coordinated inauthentic actors pushing misleading or partisan content in lead-ups to elections, consistently favoring conservative MAGA-approved messages.
arXiv

The pre-Trump second term , legitimate,  DOJ  announced plans to continue seizing  internet domains connected to
“Doppelganger,” a Russian-backed influence network
pushing propaganda in the U.S., using AI, fake personas, etc.
They identified and  shut  down  not , 10  not a dozen
  not  24
but 32 known sites and domains.
These 32 were  the  most obvious and egregious of the offenders.
Of course  the  new weaponized Trump DOJ pulled  the  funding from this and  it stropped all together.
Who knows  how  many others  they were investigating and  how  many MORE  have sprung  up now  that their  is  no regulation or indictment.
Department of Justice

The DOJ has claimed these operations are aimed at influencing U.S. elections and amplifying divisive, pro-Russia narratives.
Department of Justice

German Marshall Fund

There is so, so much more. We are headed to a true authoritarian dictatorship and full-on Christo-fascist McCarthy fear-backed police state.
Trump is not going to walk away from the White House, especially not after expanding, fortifying, and renovating it on his watch and to his specifications.

— The End —
