The sedan pulled to a stop. The driver cut the engine and the bandits piled out to wait for the second chariot rolling up momentarily. Barabbas climbed from the second and tossed a handful of coin in the air with a grin, and said to his mob, “It went without a hitch. They ought’a be pickin’ up the Teacher after not too long.” Thomas standing by expressionless, the gang boss approached him as the rest were scrambling for the fallen coins.  “You gotta problem with that, fisherman?”
“No. Should I?” Thomas answered in a monotone.
“No, but I think you’d be happier,” Barabbas glibly replied then dismissed the kid’s bad attitude with, “Ah, you’ll be plenty happy when your cut of the salt's in your pouch.”
“Sure I will,” Thomas intoned gravely.
Bowled over, Barabbas wheeled on him, saying, “What’s that?”
John Mark appeared from the rocky shadows, his fist full of gun. “All right, you mugs, get ‘em up.”
The gang reached for pistols but didn’t have a chance to draw. Demons were on them like black webs, tangling their arms and grabbing the rods from their startled fingers. Beelzebub materializing as a towering mass cast a thick black shadow over their eyes. Barabbas threw his hands in the air, trying to figure the play. “What gives, fisherman?” he put to Thomas.
“We just thought we’d give you a hand spending this loot—or maybe you won’t get to spend it at all.”
Viciously Barabbas snarled, “So this is the kind of double-cross the Teacher pulls.”
Mark stepped over and cracked him across the face, splitting the pock marked flesh and Barabbas spit blood like wine. He never lowered his hands because by this point the gun wielding devils had encircled them.
“This ain’t the Teacher’s play, you ***** lying thief—and you know what my friends here do to lying thieves? Tell ‘im.”
“We eat ‘em for lunch,” the big demon stated in earnest.
“But now that you mention it, you planned it so the Teacher would take the fall, ain’t that right? So you wouldn’t be a suspect. Okay, so now they’ll really have nothing on you. We’re taking the dough.”
“That coin weighs a ton,” Barabbas griped, giving Thomas a knowing scowl. “What are you gonna do—carry it on your backs?”
Mark chuckled disagreeably and said, “No, you goon. We’re taking your rides too.”
“You can’t leave us here,” the robber protested.
“Why not? You won’t need ‘em to get to where you’re going,” Mark jeered.
“The centurions will be looking for whoever pulled that job,” Barabbas kept arguing.
“Then you won’t have anything to worry about. You won’t have the dough on you when they catch up with you, will you?”
“You won’t get away with this,” the hired criminal threatened, “I’ll catch up with you sooner or later.”
Mark nodded, saying, “Is that so?” His pistol swerved and he shot one of Barabbas’ men in cold blood. The guy dropped to his knees and from there, fell flat on his face dead as dust. “Do I look worried?”
Keeping their pistols aimed on the gang, Mark climbed behind the wheel of one of the sedans and Thomas the other. Turning the powerful engines over, the chariots pulled away, leaving the crew in the merciless hands of the devils.
Beelzebub’s features never fully came into focus. Barabbas saw teeth and eyes but there was nothing else except more teeth and eyes. Beelzebub had orders from Satan to bring back souls, but from these guys that would be like pulling teeth—especially rotten teeth, which was okay, since rotten teeth have a way of falling out on their own. With that in mind, there was no need for mercy.
The fishermen drove to a desolate point on the far side of the Sea of Galilee to ditch the hot chariots. They drove both sedans to the edge of the turgid water and disengaging the brakes let the wheels roll free until the chariots sank like heavy stones to the bottom.
Thomas doffed his shirt and pants, waded in and dived for a few coins to bring back to their partners to prove that they had actually pulled it off. News of the bank job would spread anyway. The distant cries of Barabbas’ men were fading as black buzzards accumulated in a familiar pattern over the low mountains.
Mark lit a cigarette and within a few minutes, Thomas returned to shore with one of the sacks of coins. They grabbed a few each and threw the rest back into the murky sea. The idea was to come back and haul up the rest with nets. They were fishermen, after all, and nobody would raise an eyebrow if they simply appeared to resume their old occupation. The Romans might even be grateful.

"Barabbas!" says my mother,"let Jesus be!"
I pull away from him, and brush myself off.
Inside a scolding I will get(probably).
Up stands a bloodied Jesus, giving a ragged cough.
Years pass by, He never gives a fight.
I, always behind, He always in front.
I fall into darkness, He ascends to light.
To His greetings I responded with grunts.
In prison I now sit, He the Teacher.
Passover comes, I to be crucified.
He is here? He will be set free. I’m bitter.
What? No! For a wretched scoundrel He died?!
This is the Power of our Creator
He breaks the Bonds of Death to send our Savior!
We started with Jesus,
ripping him to pieces.
And that's not where it ceases,
the violence, it increase.

Life.
Death.
We ****,
the best.

Jesus died,
Judas lied.
"Free Barabbas",
the people cried.

Jesus died,
Judas lied.
"Free Barabbas",
the people cried.

The people killed Jesus Christ,
they killed Mr. King.
The people killed Kennedy,
they **** everything.

Then there was King,
just doing his thing.
But his life was stopped short,
due to a killing.

Poor Mr. King,
just doing his thing.
Innocent man, dead,
due to a killing.

The people killed Jesus Christ,
they killed Mr. King.
The people killed Kennedy,
they **** everything.

Mr. Kennedy,
best president to be.
His term didn't last long,
killed while on T.V.

John F. Kennedy,
the president to be,
never got the chance to change,
the shape of our country.

The people killed Jesus Christ,
they killed Mr. King.
The people killed Kennedy,
they **** everything.

Killing is their stimulant.
So they **** the innocent.
How can they live with it?
Knowing they **** the innocent.

The people killed Jesus Christ,
they killed Mr. King.
The people killed Kennedy,
they **** everything.

The people killed Jesus Christ,
they killed Mr. King.
The people killed Kennedy,
we **** everything.

… and the Sanhedrin cried out loudest,
Free Barabbas.
Ergo,
The Republic got nailed.
Sins of the Senate.

This is how I saw it said John.

Jesus heard from God, YHWH, biggest imaginable mind,

mind to mind,
I and my father are one

the scripture can't be broken
if I do not the works of my father which I have been sent to finish

believe me not, I wrote. I write. There is a bubble
where if one were to say I  write
and by writing, I ask,
what are you
debating?

Who is this old man?
standing afar from the scorners

I was asked. Was it challenge, scorn or

curiosity tickling the child in the blindman who
said he could not see me writing,
therefore
I am not a writer,
in the bubble that man lives in.
He now lives in my reality.

In my world I am the light.
I banish darkness with light from my phone

Fantasize, know ye not what I have done unto you?
Granted. Ignoring is easier. Truth makes you free.
After a while, you know when you are lying.

If ye know these things happy are ye if ye do them
Some one among you
has lifted up his heel against me
has lifted up his heel against me
has lifted up his heel against me to crush my head

who is it?
Judas,

Oh, thank God, I thought it was me who received the sop.
What kind of Christian am I?

One like the writer of the manuscript taken as good news

do your works, whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it
the spirit of truth

I will not leave you comfortless,

the word which ye hear is not mine, but the fathers
My Peace Give I unto you

Did that burning monk in Saigon do that for me?
My Peace Give I unto you
he said that, I bet.

Not as the world gives? Am I alone in hope?
I do
write, hoping...
chosen out of the world, oh my am I
to
follow through
good news from a far country
now have they both seen and hated

the spirit of truth

you should not be offended.
If you are, get over it.

The sending required the going
the spirit of truth

What kind of Christian am I?
This is an old man, retelling
he chuckles when he recalls, do ye now believe?

was followed by a wink,
I have overcome the world

and this is finished, all beyond is unbelievable.

Timeless stateless state
Thy Word,
John said, as it flows from me in my comfortzone.

Be with me where I am, these have known…

Am i? Are those old words words for now, 2019?
Whom seek ye?

As soon as he said I am he
It's the next day old man John woke up

spent some time in his carnal mind sorting
things out.

If I have spoken evil,
bear witness of the evil, then the story
of Peter's tri-denial,

the poet, John, tells the tale

the legendary good news

What is Truth? I find in him no fault at all.

Barabbas was a robber. Ecce ****.
Whence art thou?

How did John know? The comforter? What kind of Christian am I?
The spirit of truth

Joy to the world, that was the message.
conciliation where ciliation itself was never known

ere now.
It is finished, he bowed his head and gave up
the ghost.

My witness is truth.

Confident, competent

compete to win
winning is not sinning

kachunkonnect
we're in.
Comfortzone verified. My peace is my witness.
Don't test me.

Patience, do your perfect work.
Truth, inspire expired hopes.
While listening to Alexander Scourby reading the Goodnews from John, the deepest walk down that road, for me, in quite some time.
527

To put this World down, like a Bundle—
And walk steady, away,
Requires Energy—possibly Agony—
’Tis the Scarlet way

Trodden with straight renunciation
By the Son of God—
Later, his faint Confederates
Justify the Road—

Flavors of that old Crucifixion—
Filaments of Bloom, Pontius Pilate sowed—
Strong Clusters, from Barabbas’ Tomb—

Sacrament, Saints partook before us—
Patent, every drop,
With the Brand of the Gentile Drinker
Who indorsed the Cup—

Verse I
I am the tired, I am the poor
one among the huddled, yearning
where's the lamp beside your golden door
alas it's made only of gold now

No asylum for me within,
the thunder of walls are forming
I foresee the stench of émigré camps
and gates sadly, slowly closing now

Verse II
once again it's common place,
for a people to live in persecution
driven out, and locked within
these once hallowed halls

you turn your hearts, bury your heads
and call it retribution
your gates will rust and they will cease
by the guise of your ******* up laws

Chorus
Who will be the one
when your judgment day is done
who says yea or nay
who will wield that gavel

Who will turn the key
and darken a land once free
like Jesus to the cross
or Barabbas to the rabble

Verse III
I am the wretched from distant shores
tempest-tossed and dying
now you are locked behind your doors
no longer free and brave

maybe someday when seasons turn
and yours is the soul that's crying
perhaps I'll be the one who'll spurn
and send you to your grave

Chorus
Who will be the one
when your judgment day is done
who says yea or nay
who will wield that gavel

Who will turn the key
and darken a land once free
like Jesus to the cross
or Barabbas to the rabble

A good Jew who tends to the sick?
Or Barabbas?              Serial ******,
murdering thief, *****, dealer, liar,
& general ****?'
'Give us Barabbas!'   they cry as
if welcoming a conquering hero,
and Barabbas is released among
them like a wolf among sheep...
'Crucify!
Crucify!' They cry ever louder:
'Crucify the ****** Carpenter!
Let him build his own cross!!!'
Heeding the crowd, Pilate
has him pilloried on a cross
fashioned by 'Joseph & Son inc.'
The event going so well,
soon Joseph's shop has a run
on crosses...
John F McCullagh Oct 2015
His calloused hands caressed the wood that, shortly, he would plane.
The carpenter was on his knees examining the grain.
The Romans wanted cross beams and the carpenter knew why:
Upon this tree the rebel, Jesus, would be crucified.

He’d never heard the rabbi speak to the admiring crowds.
He thought himself too practical to go in search of God.
In the temple he made sacrifice; he conformed and he complied.
He’d seen too many mad for God and noted how they’d died.

The carpenter thought it was a shame; this wood too good you see.
It’s a tragic waste of good timber to make a hanging tree.
Still the money came in handy as good wine was still not free.
Galled wine would be served in a sponge to this man from Galilee.

The crowd called for Barabbas when this Jesus was condemned.
He shuddered as he thought of the cruel way this life would end.
There is no dignity he could see in a death upon a cross;
mocked by the onlookers while his women wailed his loss.

The Roman paid him coin and slaves bore the beam away.
The sad procession passed his shop later that same day.
The Rabbi wore a crown of thorns, fashioned from the jujube,
and there, upon his shoulders. He bore the hanging tree.
Good Friday, in Roman Occupied Jerusalem
Jack Jenkins Jun 16
they cried for barabbas
and barabbas they received
but his sword turned inward
and their cities wept in ash
they spit on the healer
and praised the destroyer
and found their dreams buried
beneath fallen temple stones
they called for justice
but mocked the just one
and justice came
not as they hoped, but as they deserved
they marched for peace
but crowned the violent
and so the earth groaned
and the heavens turned away
Throughout the ages
There have been those who did not seek repentance
Nor longed for true atonement
But cried out instead for blood
And demanded a justice stained with wrath

The justice they demanded
Required a price no covenant could cover
For they walked beyond the boundary
Where mercy holds its sway

The blood of the lamb was offered
Yet time and again it was rejected
And destruction became the portion
The only price left for rebellion

The covenant remains unbroken
The path to peace still open
But those who close their hearts
Face the sword heavy where mercy cannot reach
I.

Tu dis : - Le plafond croule. Ils vont, si l'on me voit,
Empêcher que je sorte. -
Tu regardes la porte ;

On chante, on déblatère,

Habitent ce repaire ;
Tu t'en vas ! de quel droit ? étant plus renard qu'eux,
Et plus qu'elle vipère !

II.

III.

Donc, comme les baskirs, sur Paris étouffé,
Et comme les croates,
Créateurs du néant, vous avez triomphé
Dans vos haines béates ;

Vous courez saluer le nain Napoléon ;

Adorez son étoile ;

Encore un peu de temps, et ceci tombera ;

V.

Oui, reste leur apôtre ! oui, tu l'as mérité.

nyant Mar 2018
Yea I deleted my old posts,
got used to deleting my history,
trying to wash myself clean,
but the soap is hopeless,
every Jim cares to see the mask off,
I should probably take my hat off,
I'm leaving incognito.

Bruce Lee tapompele,
the almighty was one of us,
truly like a stranger on the bus,
I'd be the first to free Barabbas,
more in common with a criminal,
Israel in 4BC had no mass communication,
but the problem has always been about the broken communion,
2000 years later many in China are yet to hear good news,
can we break passed the great walls,
you can tell from a distance that I watched a lot of television,
spent little time in rosy parks.
recently I became aware of my ignorance of the past,
tried to to undo my evils like samurai Jack,
this is a long poem so don't expect a haiku.

See I'm one of those trees who'd take in things passively like phloem,
it riled me up when I discovered things like who Huey represented in the boondocks,
feeling like a Tom dubious making a Ruckus.

I realized I was a slave to many things,
so I'm on the pursuit of being a free man,
started to think about what it meant to say wakanda forever,
it made me wonder if maybe Zion is better.

I was wrong to complain about the land that I was born in.
I just want the Potter to hurry up,
my clay is dry I can feel it cracking,
the blackness is Syrias,
M just turned 16 but some boys his age  have seen more than M16s,
makes me wonder which direction I should pray this Easter.

No shots fired maybe I need some gun control,
Your pen is your pistol,
mind is a missle,
mouth is a canon,
don't trade it for a nickle,
no matter what burdens you carey,
I hope you get the picture,
be sure you know your artillery.

Most of my moves were fear driven,
If only you could feel the sound of my mind,
conspiracies and half-truths ain't kind,
like a big fat liar,
scared of the big bad wolf,
how could reading about four horses
make me so unstable,
walking with a cane wondering if I am able.

I knew my solids, liquids and gases,
but couldn't really tell what matters,
playing fifa but deaf to the blatters.

I started filling the gram with heavy sounding poems like this,
thinking yeah this will show them,
I'm part of the fam,
I too, a proud African,
I'm in the loop, I understand,
even if I didn't really need a tissue when Mr ***** mouth ******* on us.

When I looked at my kin,
I never saw black gold that could fuel the world,
I was too busy being a black sheep, trying to invite everyone one to my pity party,
''the world would be so much better if everybody was more like me."
If I was a king they would call me apathy.
although he took my penalty I took his gift so casually like a chip.

They marched on in procession,
I forgot my profession,
Got used to my chains,
losing direction,
it would be weird to take them off like a wristwatch,
tick tock.

I have to get back to simply city,
Trust in His foolish wisdom,
leaf behind so I can branch on,
learn to take off my specs every time that I log in.

Change my locus,
media makes it hard to focus,
forget the locusts and use the remainder,
see all the division disturbed mine,
family and friends I left behind,
I expected the watchmen to bark at the sight of the poacher,
desiring to **** agape,
forgetting love as quickly as harambe.
things get shaggy when velma can't see the clues.

I guess I was a dead dog,
****** doomed,
let the leaven grow on my trunk,
you could see it when the fungus grew and leeched on my nutrients,
slowly but surely my heart began to rot,
fearing that this gentile man had been branched off after playing with the moss.

I know I can be extra and do the most and can make faith look look complicated which it isn't,
I've had seasons of confusion which certainly weren't from the King,
he tries to steer me away from the flames that will grill me,
but I lose courage and act like a chicken from nandos,
he's not like the hungry lion,
always prowling at my week's mess,
to truly be strong one needs to be weakend,
we couldn't read the daily mail if it wasn't for the red posts.

He's debonair and gentle so now I'll take his orders,
I hope he can deliver me,
I'm encouraged by the romans,
sometimes it's just hard to express
how much Jesus changed the way I sea things,
even when storms are tough,
I don't want to lose my seasoning.

They're many silly lies that become stumbling blocks when He's supposed to be the only one,
misinformation like the titanic,
that mislead the sheep,
listening to the assassins creed,
busy brooding in their sleeper cells.

If I was a woman I'd be the one at the well,
a random Jane doe never seeing my blindspots,
hoeing around like a rabbit,
digging a broken cistern that can't hold water,
cause God came to make things pretty,
after I made them ugly.

When I sin I think about Sinai,
got all these ankle weights strengthening my golden calves,
maybe it would be better to ponder Golgotha,
maybe my bones will live if I take the flesh off,
He came to help me but I scoffed him,
he came to heal me but I licked the wounds of my old wineskin.

Despite all the unnecessary complexity and errors of my ways,
all I have left is to trust that the blood of the lamb doesn't clot,
even when I act like a goat,
even when I let my heart turn to stone,
when I can't see past the thicket,
he'll ram past the chest of my fears,
crush the treasures of my heart,
so I can be free to blow the horn of salvation for all men,
that we may never be extinct,
whether sudan or 'abyad,
to receive the free invitation,
to be reconciled with the God of creation,
a call to enjoy true liberation.
The first sentence of this poem is referring to my instagram account.
Tapompele means not buff or strong
Black steeds reveal their charged breath with splendid revelry
o'er the piedmont valley .. Green , gray facades sweep across a volley of cannon and tooled steel reflections as Plough hand , Artist and neighbor stand garrisoned before their final hours ..
Morning skies are a terrific blue in springs first fleeting gasp ..
Is Barabbas among these warriors ? If so , let him stand forward !

I.

L'un porte le drapeau, les autres portent l'arche ;
Ce saint voyage a nom Progrès. De temps en temps,
Ils s'arrêtent, rêveurs, attentifs, haletants,
Puis repartent. En route ! ils s'appellent, ils s'aident,
Ils vont !
On avance toujours, on n'arrive jamais.
À chaque étape un guide accourt à leur rencontre ;
Ils sondent, pleins d'espoir, une terre inconnue
À chaque pas qu'on fait, la brume diminue ;

II.

Ne coupe l'immobile et lugubre horizon ;
Les tchaouchs, aux lueurs des premières étoiles,
Piquent des pieux en terre et déroulent les toiles ;

III.

Dans quelque champ qui vit la guerre et ses désastres ;
Car l'azur constellé plaît à son œil vermeil ;
Tranquille et satisfait sous la splendeur des cieux ;
Il aspire l'air pur qui manquait à son antre ;

I eat stones for breakfast,
chew them on the road.
But one thing—
I don’t release Barabbas.

I heard a shout from the crowd
Set the guilty free
To this day I still think about
Why him and not me

I'd heard the man was innocent
That he'd done nothing wrong
As he said underneath his breath
Forgive them, they no not what they've done

I made my way that day out of harms way
Swearing never to look back
But felt the urge, wouldn't call it courage
That held me down where I was at

Following at a short distance
The one who took my palce
With a strong need for forgiveness
I still hold to this day

Through it all with him on trial
I felt the guilt, the shame
Could not help but think about
Me being partially to blame

As he stood there in silence
A lamb being led to slaughter
The hungry wolves would have his head
He'd be dead by tomorrow

Guilty came the verdict
To the worlds sigh of relief
As once again I wondered
Why him Lord, not me

I followed along as he carried his cross
Hoping not to be recognized
You never know how far a crowd will go
Or when a mob could change their mind

This is the other side of the story
From the day I was set free
The day my life was changed when I
Watched the Prince of Peace hang on that tree
Dying for the sin of you and me
I wonder at times what happened to Barabbas after he was set free when Jesus took his place. Very interesting story that is in all four Gospels that is well worth the read!

If I am to be the new Faust & heir to Adam,

here I stand over this shallow world of water
& sand; raising fire from the mist,   something
has to burn; the heat is too great; the mighty
pressures of space are themselves mere ripples
along the edges of a shallow dish; our science
has gone beyond our perception - we no longer
see the things before us but the several events

leading up to & away from this moment; (         )

I am no Christ, tell the cops to **** w/           -s

I'm not the Buddha honestly, I fell asleep;
no maniacal devil rules my heart;
it would be cool if it did - but, no;

Not if I am to be the new Faust & heir to Adam

if I am to surviv e beyond th       e
