I fell in love with the morning, how you stumbled out of bed when you first woke up, and how your eyes groaned with exhaustion.
The way your hands grasped my hips while your lips stole the ending of my sentences. Every day with you felt like a month of Sunday mornings with white bed sheets and lazy smiles.

The walk home from your room made me remember what Monday mornings feel like.

Somewhere between falling in love with our midnight conversations that were interrupted by soft kisses and pokes in the ribs, and reading the love notes you wrote on my skin.
I realized,
I am in love with the presence of your words and the feel of your existence.

I am in love with you.

little door hidden nestled in vines
Its secrets hidden by leaves
ancient hole in the wall
where does it lead
what is beyond
little wood door flowering with questions
a little mystery-
Left sealed for years
So obviously there
Yet forgotten
little door smells of roses
flowers of wonder
blooming with possibility
joy of new experience
Some open the door-
They find themselves
that door is waiting to be opened

Golden Fruit
By AJK

Innocent seeds sprouting
pushing through the soil
you water them-
give them sun
But you can’t make them grow yourself
you can encourage them
you can plant the ideas
that is all you must do
growth comes from within
It is never forced
they cannot be you
you cannot understand what makes them grow
be a support a calming voice
hold them, be a stake of steadiness
be the great benevolent sun
the light that gives life
only then will you bear the golden fruit

We are tantalus reaching for fruit
A Memory out of reach
Feels like a slash from a bliss sword
A happy never healing wound
Gushing with longing
A river with no destination
Just a hope for the past
A memory of feelings
When happiness had meaning
When life had color
A pain in your stomach
Almost sweet
So strong so overwhelming
A crying dance
Strings being pulled tight
Suffocating a record off a beautiful tune
That now seems off
Didn't notice when it started
But it will now never leave
A longing so strong
A river that will never find its destination
Because it has already been-
Where it wants to go

Clothes tattered,
breathing sharp
a long journey
clawing all up hill
An impossible journey
Held back by his troubles
Not by his lack of effort
But by his situation

he has come to the brink
of emptiness or revelation
before it he knew not of its existence
after it he now knows less
questions before not heard
that could have never existed

He looks down from his hill
At the people not strong enough-
To take the chance
They are of his kin
From the same mother
Though the boy knows nothing
He has learned how to question

He believes he is at the top
higher than the mansions of men
The men who live above his own
Yet they are not better
They had access to advancements-
That his people know not
But they do not share-
Not usually,
they think they know
Fore they had a headstart
They never had to crawl and scrape-
To get to their position

Yet they are wrong
They could never understand
The more you realize-
The less you know

The boy has learned
That he knows nothing
Mysteries to be discussed
but never unraveled
Yet he isn’t at the top
Of the summit yes
But as he looks out-
A plane flies overhead
He doesn’t weep-
he smiles
The plain gives him hope
This isn’t the end of the road
His path continues
Because those who try
Can always fly higher

The rundown saloon-
Is filled with the ghosts grieving tune
The piano keys move soft and sweet
Like a memory of a distant day that was a treat
He wove images of sunny days
That now have all gone away
He was Dancing with his love
She now flies in the sky as a dove
But Ghost is all alone
Left on earth to wander and groan
His song stings of regret
The pianos shadows cast an eerie silhouette
The song plays and the sun sets-
the ghost must always stay to repay his debts
Others move on, become free
ghost will always be chained here, that is his fee
The mourning song will never stop
Every night day after day in the old saloon shop
