I Guess

Winter Silk
I guess it has to rain
For flowers to grow.
I guess the more you are insane,
more of yourself you'll know.

I guess we must know how to cry
To recall happiness when it's gone.
I guess our love had to die,
So that my heart can live on.
But love is a cycle,
an end creates a beginning.

Her ballet shoes still hang
outside my bedroom door.
I see them every morning,
before my work at the store.

As my car cuts and cruises,
through the country's autumn streets,
My mind slowly wanders
to a harsh, wooden seat.

The judge's decision was irrevocable,
my wife left with everything.
I last saw her ride a taxi, tossing
to the sewers, our wedding ring.

Work is always such a challenge
when my customers just stare.
They know how harsh it was,
but they don't really care.

The judge's decision was irrevocable,
my wife left with everything.
She even took our daughter,
that precious little thing.

As my car cuts and cruises,
through the country's autumn streets,
My mind slowly wanders
to my daughter's little feet

Her ballet shoes still hang
outside my bedroom door.
They once were used for dancing,
but not anymore.
I tried my hand at mirror poems.
Let's hope this turns out well.

He is the tumultuous ocean,
The twisting, rolling sea
That feigns a certain gentleness
Until its rage breaks free

So vast and so unending
And limitless in worth
I took him once for granted
As I wandered through the surf.

Without the tumulus ocean
Without its rolling seas
Without the tide that tosses me
And never sets me free

The arid, fallow earth would crack
Beneath my burning feet
Reminding me of which I lost
And dried up with the heat

But salt leaves me to languish
No sweetness he can quench
Time will only tell from here
If love can fill this trench.

Vien ici, ma belle,
Vein et me rejoindre
Alors qu'on peut reve ensemble
Sous la ceil de la nuit brillant.

Nous peuvons aller n'import ou,
Et quand le matin se reville
Nous serons encore ici
Dans la mer profond de la vie.

English Translation (sounds a lot better in french though)

Come here, my beautiful,
Come and join me
So we may dream together
Under the sparkling night sky.

We can go anywhere at all,
And when we wake
We'll still be here
In the deep sea of life.
Wrote this in french. I thought it would be a good idea to start writing in french since I haven't been exposed to it for a year now. Hopefully writing in french again will help me retain the language more.

I visit a city
And there is blood on the streets;
Dried blood,
War blood,
Blood from my own heart.

Women birthed here
And died along with their men.
And the babies became soldiers and bled.
And died.

And there is blood from those who dared to love
To hold taboo soulmates in the dead of night,
And they're all sleeping now, safe and tight.
Mass graves and funeral pyres
Leave for little room in their retirement.

The streets are clean,
But listen to the blood as it sings.

with his little spray cans he would spray all day
doing his graffiti colorful and bright
bringing joy to people bringing such delight.

full of lots of colors cheerful and bright
spraying through the day till very late at night.

to see his works of art  mouse he was a star.

with his little cans he sprays the day away
