Polar
He carves words he has spoken
Of promises unbroken
whispering into the dark
Chiselling delicately into her bones
With tobacco juice to bring out the tones
Quietly engraving symbols and psalms
Living for the night
Working through to the light
Communing only through dreams
In daylight she's secure
Inside a white Alder tree
Protected and respected
Her spirit flies free
it amazes me every day
that some of the most beautiful things
can cause the most devastating destruction.
Seeing more of you
Felt like reading my favorite book.

Clinging to every word
And smiling anxiously
As I turn over
Every new page.

Lyndsey
Burning together at a distance
like brightly lit stars.

Close enough to be in orbit,
safe from consumption when we're this far.

But what if just once,
we crossed the vast distance?

Making almost a reality,
I'd let nervous fingertips trace along fantasy.

You'd let me discover
all the secrets to your universe.

I'll remain your dance partner,
as we circle from afar.

I'll be the night sky you howl at
always wanting more.
i wait patiently
for you
by the sea.
i look out
onto the vast
blue crystals
wondering where you are
and when you'll come
to see me
and sweep me up
off my feet.
the wind blows my hair
softly,
i hum quietly to myself,
and i wish that you
would hurry
and fill me
with your warm embrace.
i stand alone
by the sea,
patiently waiting
for you,
my love.
