the setting sun glows crimson over distant hills
people enjoy the balmy temperatures
sip their mojitos and manhattans
anticipating finger food and tapas
chatting with friends and neighbors

not everybody notices
the folding blossoms of the garden flowers
or the sweet evening songs of birds
the daring hedgehog venturing forth
    to look for food
the smell of honeysuckle gaining force
    under the rising moon

the beauty of our nature
often gets talked away in conversations
reduced to just a pleasant ambiance
that loosens our tongues

in our obsession to communicate
we tend to overlook the soft magnificence
the world presents to us in dusky evening hours
When you have nowhere to go
Trials are fast, blessings slow
And the toilet overflows

Count it ALL JOY!

When winter Paints the Roses blue
When your boyfriend finds someone new
And all your friends turn on you

Count it ALL JOY!

When you are truly at a loss
Not even one coin to toss
Had a fight with your new boss!

Count it ALL JOY!

Maybe you don't have a job
You're on the street you just been robbed
People actin' like they're snobs
You cry for help, their heads just bob
You really have the trials of Job

Count it ALL JOY!

Maybe you're sick, and filled with pain
And you're sitting in the rain
Your energy is on the wane
The fiddle plays a sad refrain

Count it ALL JOY!

When you feel you're near the end
And you're going 'round the bend
Cannot find a single friend...

COUNT IT ALL JOY!

James 1:2-8

... for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
Nehemiah 8-10

Can't sleep due to physical pain.

who knew
beauty could wreak
such chaos?

overturned dumpsters
blocking the road
and a
matress floating down the street!

sirens shrieking
and cars flooded in roadways

some silly motorists
will be swept away in the washes

MONSOON MADNESS!

We just had an incredible rainstorm!
All of what I said above really happened!
It was the hardest rain we've had in years. The June rainfall was the highest it's been for 50 years! The second highest since 1932.

I PRAYED TO GOD DURING
OUR HEAT WAVE FOR RAIN!!!

WOW!! DID HE DELIVER!!!

I took a picture of the Agave flower.
It is now my site photograph.

And the double rainbow!
What for you need a pen that writes black?
The man at the counter shot back
What has the blue done to offend you?

Look up the firmament
Over there the kingfisher
Once I had been to the sea
She was blue
Surely you prefer over black
A blue saree for her
So many men have staked their life
For the blue eyes of women

And then as if volleying the winning goal

Why not color all your wishes with blue
To paint the world blue-wish?

As I turned to walk away
My eyes caught the writing on his wall..

Black ink for the black heart
For the fool and the dull
Blue for the man of art
With matter in the skull

I had come to the wrong shop.
