Ember Evanescent
Some fears are paralyzing

1. We need to talk

2. A random text message from him

3. Passcode incorrect
The password being wrong is usually the result of caplocks but it is a moment of panic

your song came on and it made me weep because i'd still give ******* anything to hear you sing it, or speak.
"i just want back in your head"
still learning to cope after all this time

they all say:
don’t take what you don’t need.

feet on the pavement,
ice cream in one hand, a balloon in the other –
his mind’s too preoccupied with
longing for baseless freedom and perhaps
he neglects the melting semi-liquid
losing its vibrancy.

some nights he tries to erase
the parallel lines drawn between
reality and reveries,
piecing lifeless syllables together
to paint a picture of her blurred finesse
which he barely recalls.

he’s inhaling the thin sheet of fog
surrounding his sepia recollections
of a short span of time-
without being certain of the identity of
the defined silhouette hiding beneath
layers of ataraxia.

the harsh fumes trace crimson paths
against bare skin as he chokes,
questioning if she was poison,
or a monstrosity from within.

once a daydream,
her : venom in his veins.

In the last shadows
you probe a blackness
that cannot be fathomed,
for a shaft of light
that will set you free
from the agony inside you.

To gracefully warm you,
leading you from the cold
recesses of your mind
to face a new morn
alighting in the East.

Never knowing fear, doesn't mean you've
Never been afraid. Never knowing the
Moment that could end it all - affirming or
Destroying all you've ever known - doesn't mean you've lived your life safe. The moments that break you are the ones that create you. Never taking the leaps, your hidden desires encourage wont keep you whole. There's a world out there - the probabilities of being afraid, alone, broken, forgotten and abdonned swarming you, etching into the darkness of your mind. Never knowing fear doesn't mean you've never been afraid - it means you've never lived and knowing then -

hi he hypothesised
hiding his heart
holding onto hope

lust lingered on his lips
lather lying on his legs
lulling his lungs lightly

tears trickle trails
tolerating treason
to my tongue

unfortunate
uttering useless unapologetic
unexcused excuses

Are you really so far away
That I cannot touch you,
And feel the crinkles of your sleeve
Underneath my fingers upon your arm?

Would you simply look around
And turn away again,
Not knowing that I talk
To you all by myself?

Even if you could listen,
And not hear a word;
Would you know that I’m
Just a little bit crazy?

Just a little bit crazy
With longing for you.
