I'm the trophy you keep at the back of the case.
I sit there collecting dust, because I'm not good enough to show off.
But in reality, I'm secretly your favorite.

Just Matt
Just maybe...

Just maybe I can have the life I want.
Just maybe I could have a Ferrari in the front.
Just maybe I could hit a home run, no bunt.
Just maybe I can find the red X on this treasure hunt.

Just maybe...

Just maybe I can breathe words of life.
Just maybe I can inspire someone to fight.
Just maybe I can help someone get through the night.

Just maybe...

Just maybe I will be more than what others believe.
Just maybe I will make people regret for their disbelief in me.
Just maybe I can make people feel naive for not believing I can achieve.
Just maybe I can have a great life that God has weaved for me.

Just maybe...

Just maybe I will find someone who will be there when I fail and when I succeed.
Just maybe I will find someone who makes me feel relieved.
Just maybe I will find someone who will fight for me.
Just maybe that's all I need.

Just maybe...

Waves are rolling in,
inching closer to my feet,
crawling up the sand.

When I met you
I was scared to talk to you
When I talked to you
I was scared to kiss you
When I kissed you
I was scared to hold you
When I held  you
I was scared to love you
Now that I love you
I'm scared to lose you
I love you

I know this one
Whom I admire
For the way love has
Set his heart afire

He burns himself
In his midnight oil
Love's cruel game
Leaves him to toil

Tossing and turning
In the midnight seas
If only she could
See what he sees

If only he were to
Again feel her touch
If only she knew
If she cared that much

But here he sits
Not drifting to sleep
Knowing in his heart
The secrets he keeps

His love is so tangible
It is so real
That even an outsider
Can feel what he feels

The pain on the inside
The pain on the out
Is because it is her
He can't live without
I promised, so here it is :)

If you want to be a part of my future,
You must first hear the story of my past.
Because if you can't handle the bittersweet part one,
I'm not writing you into the upcoming chapters.

Cut
Once you take the first cut - you get a fast rush.
It's like you've never lived before.
It makes your mind soar.
It makes you feel so incredible, to get that feeling that you have never felt before.
The kind of feeling that you can't describe.
It makes you feel good the first time - so you go deeper.
And the feeling gets 10 times sweeter - you take another cut.
But, this one doesn't feel as good - your mood changes.
Then you notice that you're bleeding.
You don't know what to do.
You've never been this far in the process - your mind states to digress.
Now you start feeling all the stress - building up in your chest.
You're afraid, scared.
There are so many emotions that you feel.
You start to get emotional.
You see the blood dripping - you feel the blade slipping - you feel your mind drifting.
You feel that you are going to get caught.
It was never as you thought.
You take another swipe across your wrist - feeling the blade touching your skin.
You slide it across - deeper than before.
You want to feel the pain - all over again.
It feels so good.
It changes your mood.
Just one more cut you tell yourself.
But you know you'll take more than just one more cut.
You can't stop - you cut.
Deeper - harder - farther - you bleed more.
You have more pain.
You know that you will cut again.
The cycle is never ending - nothing is going to change.
The blade will meet your wrist once again.
