My final letter:
An elegy to friendship,
A knife in your back.

My solace is in your laughter,
In your kindness,
In your heart.

My touch-starved soul yearns
To return to your embrace,
To come home.

Alluring sun's warmth
Melting bonds which bore freedom
Was it worth the fall?

A thousand lies
A thousand tries
To escape

Promise to me-
Promise you'll be
Able to shape this
Anatomy of mine

A thousand years
A thousand tears
I will wait

Now I see that this body of mine-
My heart and soul aligned-
Matches my mind

In a sea of your tears,
Algid saltwater trickles down my throat,
Ice burning my lungs.

Each droplet of water in this vast ocean,
Is a memory of you,
And an opportunity lost.

You beg me to keep fighting,
To ignore the allure of inky abyss,
But I can't tell the surface from the seabed.

Beneath glassy waves I sink,
Isolated in endless blue,
Drowning in perpetual silence.

Seamlessly stringing melodies,
His hands dance over keys of ivory.
Dark eyes glimmer as the world falls away.
Nothing remains but sweet serenade.

Sweeping seas of grass,

Endless cerulean skies,

And peaks that pierce the welkin.

It is here that I rest,

Swathed in picturesque majesty,

Rather than your caress.

Twilight blue rebounds behind
A great ridge of color
Calling for man
To stand before the night

From a distance
Quiet but restless
The brazen foliage always falls
Darkness follows every time
