They'll be a time for us.
When the world has found its way,
back in from the cold.
When her people find a voice.
Fearing no retribution.
He yells and he screams,
on your local street corner
You've seen him no doubt
He is every towns outcast
He's not the first or the last.

Life on the outskirts
The rat race and the mundane,
are the thoroughfares
Lynn Stillman Jun 26
I overthink things
Both a blessing and a curse
Depends on the day.
I've scars that don't show.
They're the ones that hurt the most.
Deep cuts to the soul.

Can find no reason
To leave the comfort of home
When pain is right here.
Passion speaks to me
In piano concertos
In a lovers kiss
The past can't be changed
But if it is kept breathing,
we'll see our mistakes
The past won't let go
Tried hard with nothing to show
A hard row to ***.
I'm very patient.
But I'm not a pushover,
when push comes to shove.

People walk through life
Never smiling or laughing
Living in their past.

People amaze me
Too many loaded questions
Pointed at my head
When I lose my cool
Like a little dog yapping
Nipping at your heels.
I was on a roll.
My phones applications set,
dropped in toilet bowl.
The old photos
Of a smiling you and me
Were not meant to be.
With my pen in hand.
I could coin a newer phrase.
I have the license.

One pig says to the other. "Hey Phil, have you seen Bart's wife lately? She lost a ton of weight and looks awful. Think she still has her hooves done though." Phil says," Yes, but I don't like all your mudslinging
Elroy, it's really none of your business." Elroy says, " Hey I'm just giving you the skinny on things. And by the way , man your place is a sty!"

Cat and dog have found
They share so much common ground
World could learn from this.

Writing poetry
My mind leaks onto paper
Lovely visual!
I like poetry
Because I'm like someone else,
writing about me

The pen channels peace
Passersby feel our passion
God guiding our hand.

Point a to point b
Darkest of night to Sunlight
Lost to enlightened

Cats don't like sharing
Don't share in your politics
You don't get a vote.

I woke up today
Feeling very positive
Don't think I'm okay.

When I was nine years old,
and if the truth be told
My best friend was a German Shepherd
with a heart of gold.
We spent our days together
in any kind of weather
Around his neck a bandana
his collar made of leather .
Possum was his name
And we played every game
From fetch the ball to tug of war
Days were never the same.
You take my shyness,
as a strong sign of weakness.
Or so I've observed.

There's another way
To survive another day
Bend a knee and pray.

Love, a priceless ring
A diamond or emerald
In a classic setting
Lynn Stillman Jun 24
Lion says to elk,
"You've lived through another day".
Elk says to lion ,
"You're not who you used to be,
cuz your pride gets in the way".
Wolves howl at the night
It's a primal call to arms
An iPhone alert
Promises you made.
Maybe not written in stone.
But signed just the same.
Promised me the world
But then you took it by storm
Left me with the clouds.

Riots and protests
We protest the present day,
with chants from the past.
Lynn Stillman Jun 28
On the radio
A too friendly voice tells me,
I need hearing aids
My cat named Rascal
That was his name, plus his job
Bell on his collar,
to warn us of his mischief
Toilet papered the whole house.
Piercing the silence
The screams of a dying man,
chased by the reaper

I'd like to know
what you put into this love.
I always crave the taste.
Lynn Stillman Jun 18
We can't reconcile
You've put distance between us
Miles I cannot walk.
A look in my eyes
There's a reflection of you
You're a part of me.
I'm out of favor.
Really don't know why or how.
Know rejection well.
Lynn Stillman Jun 19
I've known rejection
It bore deep into my heart
Left a nasty scar.
Feeling rejected
Too stunned to even cry
My mouth parched and dry
Things that once were meaningful,
now matter not.
They are only clouds that hide the sun
A storm of doubt where once there was none.
I've experienced it second hand.
Looking on as some poor soul was it's victim.
Feeling some of their pain but it's nothing like first hand.
I fear tomorrow's anger.
Everywhere I turn
There's a reminder of you
Just a coffee mug,
is enough to trigger me
Like the scent of your cologne.
It's what I expect.
To be treated with respect.
Less I will reject.
You say "whatever".
Your answer to everything
Doesn't have the ring.
I am closed off
On the inside and outside
No road signs warning
The rules of romance
Listen up, I'm laying down
Needs , feelings, desires
Just where in the world,
does your pain and sadness go,
to find their solace?
Lynn Stillman Jun 20
Sadness claws and rips,
the fiber of my being,
inches from my soul.
Moping in my despair
Radio plays a sad song
I know every word.
